Ethan Klein reacts to iDubbbz's new Content Cop episode on H3 podcast and YouTube drama

Express Tribune17-04-2025
YouTuber and H3 Podcast host Ethan Klein has publicly criticised iDubbbz's latest Content Cop video, which targets the H3 brand.
On the 16 April episode of the podcast, Klein expressed disbelief over the subject of the new video and the creators involved in its production. Calling the project 'pathetic' and 'mean-spirited,' Klein voiced concern that his colleague Lena Ayad was caught off guard, leading to a panic attack ahead of her participation in Creator Clash 3.
Klein appeared shocked by iDubbbz's collaboration with Twitch personalities such as HasanAbi, Denims and Frogan, especially given his previous support for iDubbbz and his projects. He said, 'I can't believe how f**king insane this is... People who watch this show know how much I've stood up for him.' Klein also pointed out that he had defended iDubbbz during past online controversies and helped promote his boxing events.
Further into the broadcast, Klein accused iDubbbz of aligning with creators he believes are hostile toward him. He said, 'How is it that he is going to ally with someone like Denims and Frogan? And Noah Samsen?' The tension stems from broader ongoing conflicts within the online content community, particularly involving reactions to geopolitical commentary.
Klein has previously released a 'Content Nuke' aimed at HasanAbi, which the streamer did not publicly address. In the latest developments, Hasan encouraged his followers on X to view iDubbbz's new video and reacted to it on Twitch. Meanwhile, Klein has taken legal steps alongside SomeOrdinaryGamers against Noah Samsen for earlier content criticising YouTubers.

Pirate Software responds after ‘Stop Killing Games' petition passes one million signatures

Pirate Software has responded publicly after receiving death threats following the Stop Killing Games campaign reaching over one million signatures. The Stop Killing Games initiative urges publishers to maintain access to digital games even after official support ends. On July 3, the petition surpassed one million signatures, with 1,156,315 supporters at the time of writing. Pirate Software, also known as Thor, had previously criticised the movement in 2024, calling its goals 'vague' and arguing that it sought 'rights that don't exist while ignoring the extensive protections that already do.' During a Twitch stream on July 4, Thor revealed the extent of the harassment he has faced since sharing his views on the campaign. 'I got swatted on Tuesday. I've been having constant calls to my cellphone. I had tens of thousands of death threats to myself and the rest of the moderation team,' he said. Thor also shared the personal attacks he and his team received, stating: 'I have been called corporate plant, degenerate, narcissist, nepobaby, and many other names. They attacked all of the accomplishments over my life despite physical evidence to prove to the contrary, and they also went after every job I ever held.' Concluding his message before returning to playing Dune: Awakening, Thor said, 'I hope that your initiative [SGF] gets everything that you asked for, but nothing you wanted.' Thor confirmed on July 3 via X/Twitter that he had left Ludwig's Offbrand Games due to the backlash, claiming people were 'attacking all of the games' the studio had published following his comments, which he described as 'unhinged.'

Ludwig responds to Mang0 Twitch ban controversy following Beerio Kart drinking stream

Popular streamer Ludwig Ahgren has publicly addressed criticism surrounding his Beerio Kart event after Super Smash Bros. pro Mang0 was banned from Twitch and dropped by Cloud9 for inappropriate behavior during the livestream. The June 21 event, held to celebrate the launch of Mario Kart World on the Nintendo Switch 2, required participants to finish a drink before completing a race. Mang0, reportedly intoxicated, harassed female content creators during the stream, sparking immediate backlash. In a July 1 Twitch broadcast, Ludwig shared that he had spoken privately with Mang0, who requested that Ludwig not comment further on the incident. 'He said, 'I wanna take it on the chin,'' Ludwig explained. 'That's a fair request.' Ludwig added that Mang0 has started a personal no-drinking commitment and is spending time with family. He pushed back against critics, stating, 'There's a perception of Mang0 people have in their mind, but they don't actually care about him. I don't think they'll be there when he's back streaming.' Ludwig confirmed he banned Mang0 from future events, citing complaints from his girlfriend and Maya Higa, who felt unsafe. 'People want me to take accountability. I said my piece. If people don't f**k with me, that's chill,' he said. He also questioned why Twitch banned Mang0 instead of holding him accountable as the event host, and reiterated Mang0's wish to handle matters privately. Previously, Ludwig called the public reaction 'lacking nuance.'
