Kussh Sinha On Nepotism In Bollywood: 'Still Struggling To Prove'

News1812 hours ago
Director Kussh Sinha recently spoke about the nepotism debate, and his comments might surprise you. Read the full story to understand his stance on the issue.
Kussh Sinha, son of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, is all set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming film Nikita Roy, hitting theatres on July 18. In a candid conversation with Zoom, Kussh sparked controversy by stating that the backlash against 'nepo kids' is justified, citing the lack of acting talent among some industry newcomers. His bold opinion has reignited the debate on nepotism in Bollywood, making waves in the film fraternity.
Despite being the son of Bollywood legend Shatrughan Sinha, Kussh Sinha's journey in the industry hasn't been without its challenges. In a heartfelt conversation, the Nikita Roy director shared his thoughts on nepotism, revealing, 'We've grown up like normal children. My father achieved everything on his own merit and hard work. We never wanted to ride on his coattails or leverage his fame to forge our own identities."
Kussh also drew inspiration from his father's remarkable journey, noting that Shatrughan Sinha, an outsider who worked tirelessly to make a name for himself, serves as a role model for him. He aspires to carve his own path, just like his father did.
Kussh Sinha, brother of Sonakshi Sinha, shared his candid thoughts on seeking fame and attention. 'I've never felt the need to seek paparazzi attention just for the sake of being seen," he said. 'Back then, I hadn't established my own identity, and I didn't think it was right to use my family name to get clicks. Today, if I'm being photographed, it's because I'm promoting my work, and that makes sense to me. But just posing for photos in designer clothes without any substantial work behind it doesn't appeal to me."
When questioned about the nepotism debate and the public's growing resentment towards 'nepo kids' flaunting their wealth, Kussh Sinha offered a candid response. 'The backlash against 'nepo kids' is justified, in my opinion," he said. 'While some have undoubtedly earned their place in the industry, others are still struggling to prove their mettle as actors. It's natural for people to question why they're flaunting their wealth without having achieved anything substantial," he added.
The highly anticipated film Nikita Roy boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Sonakshi Sinha, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Suhail Nayyar in pivotal roles. After facing two delays due to unforeseen circumstances, the movie is finally set to hit theaters.

It Is Going To Be Raghu And Rajiv Vs Devarshi In Epic Roadies Showdown

Last Updated: Devarshi Patel, who became a sensation even before social media took over for his unforgettable audition on Roadies 6, reunites with Raghu Ram and Rajiv Lakshman. Devarshi Patel became a sensation even before social media took over, thanks to his unforgettable audition on Roadies 6. Back then, the judges Raghu Ram and Rajiv Lakshman got tired of his antics, but now, after 16 years, they have come together again. Just like in 2009, Devarshi's energy was high, leaving the former Roadies judges amused throughout the video. The trio talked about their old times and shared some memories. During the chat, Devarshi also mentioned that he is now an inspirational comedian, which left Raghu and Rajiv confused. While appearing on Raghu and Rajiv's YouTube channel, Devarshi, speaking about his life, said, 'I have been really awesome. But you know what? I have recently launched my new brand and now, I am an inspirational comedian. Let me explain. Around the world, there are many inspirational speakers. They are very good. But now, let's talk about comedians. When I think about comedians, what I have noticed is that either they try to insult others, act cool or make fun of someone. But I'm different. I can inspire you and also make you laugh out loud." During the chat, Devarshi Patel also shared what pushed him to audition for Roadies. He explained, 'If I had just thought, 'I will try,' I wouldn't have been selected. Even if I had told myself, 'I'll try my best, Come on Devarshi, try your best, you can do it,' no man, that's not enough. Saying 'I will try' is equal to failure. Even 'I will try my best' also leads to failure. But the real winning mindset is, 'I will do whatever it takes.' Whatever is needed to reach the goal, you do that and that's exactly what I did. I stood for 8 hours in a line without food, surviving only on water. But today, I feel blessed that I did it. I'm here now and I thank God, it was all worth it. Devarshi Patel also spoke about his viral birthday dance video, which has already crossed over 1 million views on Instagram. He shared that it happened at his office, where people told him he was good at dancing. So, he decided to dance and then they celebrated by cutting a cake. Listening to this, Raghu jumped in and gave his honest opinion. He told Devarshi that while his dance moves were not great at all, his energy while dancing was fun. However, he jokingly told Devarshi not to call himself a good dancer. Devarshi Patel surprised Raghu and Rajiv even more when he revealed that he is married. What made it even more interesting was that his wife's name is Devashri, which sounds very similar to his own name. The unexpected reveal left the brothers shocked. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
