Atlanta to Get Its First Chai Cafe
Tea time is an integral part of many Indian households, and no one knows that better than the Chai Box creator, Monica Sunny, who makes aromatic cups of meditative chai on her Instagram while running the country's forefront chai brand. The Atlanta resident is now set to open the city's first chai cafe in Upper Westside in the former Doughnut Dollies space on Howell Mill. It will open late this year.
'Chai time has always been sacred in our home — an invitation to slow down, and connect,' says Sunny, whose chai was one of Oprah's Favorite Things in 2021. 'You can get a chai latte at just about every coffee shop; you can order chai at most Indian restaurants. But there's not a single place here in Atlanta that's fully dedicated to chai, the way there are chai wallas and street-side tea stalls all over India. Opening this cafe gives us a platform to bring that experience to life.'
Expect Sunny's popular chai blends sourced from India at the cafe, including rose, masala, and kadak varieties, in addition to Indian filter coffee, seasonal drinks, and chai-inspired desserts (think chai waffles). The cafe will also include a retail section to take chai blends and other local goods home.
Sunny has had a meteoric rise since opening her company in 2016 out of Marietta. Not only did it land on Oprah's Favorite Things list, but her viral chai concentrate was picked up by 21 Costco locations. Doraville's soju distillery, Minhwa Spirits, also collaborated with Sunny to create a chai gin called Queen Huh last year.
'Opening a chai cafe has always been a dream and part of my vision for the Chai Box,' says Sunny. 'I wanted to create a space where people could experience chai the way I grew up drinking it.' See More: Atlanta Restaurant Openings

Welspun Living shares rise over 3% as Trump's new tariffs hit Bangladesh exports
By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on July 8, 2025, 10:12 IST Shares of Welspun Living Ltd surged over 3% on Tuesday, July 8, to ₹147.66 after the Donald Trump administration in the United States announced a new 35% tariff on Bangladeshi exports overnight. The stock climbed from its previous close of ₹143.33, gaining ₹4.33 during morning trade. The revised tariff rate of 35% marks a slight reduction from the earlier proposed 37% announced in April but remains significantly higher than the baseline tariff of 10%. The US also indicated that negotiations could continue until August 1, when the tariffs are set to take effect. Welspun Living, a major Indian exporter of home textiles, is expected to benefit from the higher costs imposed on Bangladeshi competitors, potentially increasing demand for Indian products in the US market. Last week, the US signed a trade deal with Vietnam, setting tariffs at 20% for Vietnamese exports to the US and 40% for goods that are transshipped — i.e., routed through Vietnam to evade duties. Market participants appear optimistic that India's exporters, including Welspun, could capture some of the share lost by Bangladesh and Vietnam due to the higher tariffs. Jefferies initiates buy on Siemens Energy stock, sees 17% upside on strong earnings and margin outlook
By News Desk Published on July 8, 2025, 08:47 IST Jefferies has initiated coverage on Siemens Energy with a Buy rating and a target price of ₹3,500, implying a potential upside of nearly 17% from the current market price of ₹3,001.10. The brokerage expects robust earnings growth and margin expansion over the next three years, supported by operating leverage and sector tailwinds. Jefferies projects a 50% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in earnings per share (EPS) and a 30% revenue CAGR over FY24–27, driven by a strong order pipeline and capacity expansions in the transmission and distribution (T&D) segment. Operating leverage is expected to drive a 460 basis points improvement in margins by FY27, making Siemens Energy one of the most profitable players in the Indian energy equipment space. The target price is based on a 65x price-to-earnings (PE) multiple on March 2027 earnings—representing a 5% discount to Hitachi, reflecting relative valuation comfort. Jefferies sees Siemens Energy as well-positioned to capitalise on India's growing investments in grid infrastructure and green energy.
