For the most part, it will be hosted by three different countries: Spain Portugal and Morocco, with the stretch across two continents making it the first of its kind.
And last year, the latter nation announced plans to build a stunning 115,000-capacity stadium ready for sports' biggest event, known as the Grand Stade Hassan II.
The stadium will feature 32 stairways, botanical gardens and a 100-hectare sports and leisure district.
Work on the project is already underway in the Benslimane province just east of Casablanca, with the build possibly being completed as soon as 2027 - ahead of initial 2028 estimates.
However, Spanish publication Marca have suggested the bespoke stadium will not host the final.
Instead, the report claims that honour will fall to Madrid 's Bernabeu stadium, which comparatively holds 85,000 fans.
But an agreement has reportedly been reached between Fifa and Real Madrid over its use for the final.
It's claimed Fifa have never hidden its desire to place the final of the World Cup at the Bernabeu stadium.
Morocco will be the first-ever Northern African nation to host the World Cup, and were the first African nation to reach the semi-finals in Qatar in 2022.
An estimated £400million is set to be spent on building the state-of-the-art Grand Stade Hassan II and improving the surrounding infrastructure.
Each end has been crafted into a bowl shape to maximise the fan experience through the sights and sounds.
Five tiers of hospitality are also being built into the stadium to host the rich and famous.
Up to 12,000 ultra-luxurious boxes will be available to VIPs as well as a custom "royal box" for special guests.
Outside of the ground, the bizarre yet unforgettable style of the stadium is set to provide a unique fan experience.
The inspiration comes from traditional Moroccan "Moussem tents", say designers, Populous.
Concept pictures of the Grande Stade Hassan II show the structure is being made of giant aluminium sheets which appear to be slightly see through to allow for natural light.
The tented roof also covers "an oasis of greenery" which is being added to the area and built into the stadium.
Additional basketball and football pitches will also be available for fans inside the ground, according to previously released images.

Tourists in Spain warned against using 'common' Spanish phrases that could get them in trouble
As millions of Brits head to Spain this summer in search of sun and sangria, language experts are urging holidaymakers to brush up on their Spanish to avoid making some seriously awkward mistakes. Visiting another country and learning local phrases can be a fun and fulfilling experience, but in Spain, a number of linguistic slip-ups are causing red faces. According to Statista, over 18 million Brits visited Spain last year - and many may have left locals scratching their heads - or smirking when their back is turned. Claudio Guasti, head of culture and communication at City Lit, has shared four of the most common - and hilarious - mistakes Brits make when speaking Spanish abroad. Here's what to watch out for - and what to say instead - when visiting the popular holiday hotspot this year: 1. Avoid accidentally telling people you are aroused if you are warm If you're feeling warm and want to express that in Spanish, avoid saying 'estoy caliente.' While this might seem like a direct translation of 'I'm hot,' it actually refers to feeling sexually aroused in Spanish when describing a person. The correct phrase to use is 'tengo calor,' which means, 'I have heat,' and is the appropriate way to say you feel hot due to the weather. 'Caliente' can still be used to describe food or drinks, for example: 'Quiero un té caliente', which means 'I'd like a hot tea', and 'El café está muy caliente', which means 'coffee is very hot'. 2. Avoid accidentally telling people you're married, instead of tired Two similar-sounding Spanish words can cause confusion are 'cansado' and 'casado'. 'Estoy cansado' (for men) or 'estoy cansada' (for women) means 'I am tired'. Meanwhile, 'estoy casado/casada' means 'I am married'. It's an easy mix-up that could lead to confusion and awkwardness in conversation, so take care to use the correct term, especially when discussing how you feel. 3. Avoid accidentally saying you are pregnant, instead of embarrassed A common language mistake is assuming 'embarazada' means 'embarrassed' because of the similarity in spelling. In fact, 'embarazada' means 'pregnant'. To say you're embarrassed in Spanish, the correct phrase is 'estoy avergonzado' if males or 'estoy avergonzada' if female. Using the wrong word in this case may lead to confusion or misunderstanding, so it's helpful to memorise the correct expression. 4. Avoid using 'hasta la vista' when saying goodbye - no one says this! While the phrase 'hasta la vista' is recognised due to its appearance in popular films, it is not commonly used by native Spanish speakers in everyday conversations. More appropriate and natural phrases for saying goodbye include 'hasta luego' (see you later) or 'adiós' (goodbye).

Ice hockey player dies in fall at Ibiza hotel
A 'hugely talented and charismatic' ice hockey player has died after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Ibiza. 'We send our thoughts and condolences to Gary's family, partner, and all his friends at this extremely difficult time,' the statement said. 'Everyone at the club including players, staff, management, and ownership are heartbroken to hear this tragic news. 'Gary was a hugely talented and charismatic individual who had a great future ahead of him. His loss will impact many in the ice hockey community and beyond. He will be sadly missed. 'We respect and support the family's request for privacy at this extremely difficult time.' 'Our priority is to support those affected and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time, and to fully assist the authorities with their investigations. 'The safety and wellbeing of our guests has, and always will remain, our highest priority.' Tributes poured in from other UK ice hockey teams. A statement on X from the Glasgow Clan said: 'The Glasgow Clan would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Gary Kelly. 'This is truly heartbreaking news. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic incident during this incredibly difficult time.' Whitley Warriors, for whom Kelly played for briefly, said: 'Whitley Warriors are devastated to learn of the tragic passing of former Warrior Gary Kelly, aged just 19. 'Gary iced for Warriors on only a few occasions in the 2023-24 season but was a popular player in the dressing room despite the shortness of his time at Whitley.' The Sheffield Steelers said: 'The Sheffield Steelers are devastated to learn of the passing of Gary Kelly. We send our thoughts and condolences to all that knew him during this difficult time.' Local police confirmed that it was investigating Kelly's death. The Civil Guard said: 'We are investigating the death of a 19-year-old British man at a hotel in San Antonio in Ibiza. The alarm was raised around 12.40am this morning [Monday]. 'Our officers were sent to the scene but the man in question was already dead by the time help arrived. The fall was from the third floor of the hotel to an outside part of the complex. 'Court officials authorised the removal of his body at 2.40am this morning. The fall could be accidental based on the early information obtained from cameras but as part of the investigation possible witnesses will need to be located and interviewed. 'The results of the post-mortem [examination] will also be important to the investigation.'
