Channel 10's new show 10 News+ slammed for being ‘woke' after replacing The Project
'I think 10 have really come up against it with this idea because they say that they're chasing a more mature audience … and that mature audience is already rostered on over its 7 and 9 [News],' Ms Dunleavy told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus.
'That audience that 10 are chasing are already settled in somewhere else.
'They're going to have a lot of trouble trying to get them to watch this new offering.
'I think its name is really lame, it doesn't tell us anything about what we can expect to see.
'People can perceive it as being woke, and that's another thing they're up against and trying to get people to watch this show.'

The 2025 Logie Awards are almost underway – and we'll be live blogging all the highlights (and lowlights) right here. Earlier this week, host Sam Pang dropped some hints about who might be in the firing line during tonight's show in a chat with From The Newsroom podcast host Andrew Bucklow. The axing of The Project is likely to be referenced, but 'with love!' Pang assured listeners, as well as the (second) cancellation of long-running soap Neighbours. The awards will culminate with the announcement of this year's Gold Logie winner. That's scheduled to happen by 11:15pm, but based on previous years, we can expect a winner announcement just after midnight. Yes, this award show is so long it often stretches into the next day. This year's Gold Logie nominees are an all-female field – except for one man, Hamish Blake, who has sheepishly admitted he feels like it's a bit of a 'stitch up' to be given the possibility of beating six women to the night's top prize. Blake's also won Gold before, as has fellow nominee Sonia Kruger, while Ally Langdon, Julia Morris, Lisa Millar, Lynne McGranger and Poh Ling Yeow would all be taking out Gold for the first time should any of them win. And it turns out, even Blake's own wife is betting against him...

Christina Haack 'won't rush into marriage with Christopher Larocca'
Christina Haack is "not wanting to rush into anything" with Christopher Larocca. The 42-year-old TV star finalised her divorce from Josh Hall earlier this year, and according to Heather Rae El Moussa, she isn't looking to rush anything with her boyfriend. Asked about the possibility of them tying the knot, Heather told E! News: "If so, it will be some time. She's not wanting to rush into anything." Despite this, Heather insists that she's a big fan of their romance, describing Christina and Christopher as a "cute" couple. The model said: "They're just really cute together. They've been together for quite a while, and I've really enjoyed every time I've spent time with him. "It's the first guy she's been together with that I've really liked." In June, meanwhile, Christina admitted that her divorce settlement was "not great". The TV star split from Josh, her third husband, in 2024, and the former couple confirmed in May they had agreed the terms of their split after undergoing mediation. Speaking on SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live, she said: "I signed something. There's like a process after the process. It was resolved in mediation after I think 12 hours. "I heard a saying once, like, if you both think you're screwed, then whatever you want. I don't know how it goes. "Look, it's not great, but I guess it's done." The HGTV star praised her legal team for handling her separation when news of the agreement was announced. Her representative told People magazine: "Christina is pleased to confirm that a settlement has been reached through mediation. She extends her sincere appreciation to her attorney, Laura Wasser, and her team for their professional guidance and support throughout the process." Christina echoed the praise on her Instagram account. She wrote: "You are all a true class act. I loved watching you in action and how you handle everything and everyone with class and grace. I appreciate you all beyond words. I have learned so much under your guidance. "And I'm grateful to have this behind me. I can't wait to move on with my life and focus on what's ahead and all my blessings."

Carrie Bickmore, Logies: Former Project host reflects on Gold Logie 2015

While the then co-host of The Project gave the appearance of being effortlessly confident as she accepted her award with a speech about the need for more awareness of the toll of brain cancer, it was a different story behind the scenes. Having welcomed her daughter Evie just six weeks earlier, Bickmore was sleep-deprived, and secretly grappling with the anxiety that has dogged her since she was 19 years old and starting out in radio. 'I reckon I thought more that night about having a panic attack than I did enjoying the dinner or chatting to people – or the feeling of winning,' she tells The Watchlist. 'It's why it's beautiful to have this legacy of the beanie campaign from that night. It forces me to think about it more often and remember it.' 'I'm somebody that just likes an awards night!' 'Mum met me in the lift and was like, 'You're just in time to feed her, great timing.' So it's funny – behind the glamour, there's all this other stuff happening.' Indeed, as she points out, Bickmore can tell what time photos of her were taken on the night 'purely based on the size of my cleavage'. 'When I was having the dress made, I didn't think about the fact that I needed to breastfeed. 'So as the night wore on, my boobs just got bigger and bigger.' A lot has happened since Bickmore was on the Logies dais. She has raised nearly $27 million for cancer research via her charity, Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, and shifted focus to her drive-time radio show Carrie & Tommy for the Hit Network. A lot of people watch our show rather than listen to it. So weirdly, I don't really feel like I've left.' In any case, she'll attend tonight's ceremony as a guest. 'I like celebrating the industry that has provided me [with] so much and has such incredibly talented, creative people in it. 'And I'm somebody that just likes an awards night.' As for the show that brought her that Gold Logie a decade ago, Bickmore says she misses the people she worked with across her 14 years on The Project. And she believes that viewers feel the same way since the show was axed in June: 'The show is going to leave a massive hole. Not just from a TV perspective, but for its place in people's hearts.' And if she does eventually make a more permanent return to TV? Bickmore says it will be on her terms. 'I don't have that desire to prove myself,' she explains. 'I'm only going to do something that I really love, and right now, that opportunity hasn't popped up. 'I'm so happy doing what I'm doing that I just feel really at peace with where I'm at in my career. 'I've got so many creative ideas. The next thing I do, if I'm honest, I might even just create myself.' The TV Week Logie Awards air at 7pm tonight on Seven and 7Plus.
