Fore! Happy Gilmore is one of 5 movies leaving Netflix that you have to watch (July 2025)

Digital Trends2 days ago
Unfortunately, movies are removed from streaming services every month. This July on Netflix is particularly rough because the list of movies departing the service is strong. Happy Gilmore is one of Adam Sandler's best comedies, and the sequel finally arrives this month. I understand that licensing agreements determine when a movie leaves a service, but having Happy Gilmore leave days after Happy Gilmore 2's premiere isn't right.
Happy Gilmore is only one of the top movies leaving in July. We spotlighted an entire group of films exiting the service soon, so make sure to watch them now before it's too late.

The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)
Derek Cianfrance makes movies for the sad boys. His films typically revolve around the complicated relationships we share with our significant others and family. Cianfrance recruited Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper to play his brooding men in The Place Beyond the Pines. In upstate New York, Luke (Gosling) is a stunt driver turned bank robber who hopes to provide a life for his estranged son.
Avery (Cooper) is a rookie police officer trying to make a name for himself. A chance meeting between Luke and Avery changes the trajectory of their lives, and the decisions made that day will affect each of their sons. Be prepared to call your parents after watching this moving epic.

The Town (2010)
It's fitting that Ben Affleck, one of Boston's most recognizable faces, played an integral part in two of the city's pantheon movies: Good Will Hunting and The Town. Affleck directed the latter in the middle of his career comeback. In Charlestown, Boston, Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) and his friends — Jem Coughlin (Jeremy Renner), Albert 'Gloansy' MacGloan (Slaine), and Desmond 'Dez' Elden (Owen Burke) — rob banks in the surrounding area for a local gangster. During one of the holdups, the group takes a hostage, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall), but lets her go unharmed.
Later on, Doug — who wore a mask during the robbery to protect his identity — meets with Claire to learn what she knows about the robbers. He ends up falling in love with her and tries to escape his criminal past. Easier said than done, especially when Doug's employer threatens to hurt Claire.

Happy Gilmore (1996)
This month marks the arrival of Happy Gilmore 2, the highly anticipated sequel featuring Sandler's rambunctious hockey player who surprisingly became a professional golfer. Unfortunately, Happy Gilmore is leaving the service at the end of the month, right as the sequel premieres. Start your rewatches now before it's too late.
Happy Gilmore (Sandler) dreams of becoming a successful hockey player. However, Happy doesn't possess the skills to thrive on the ice, forcing him to find a new career path. When his grandmother's house faces foreclosure, Happy capitalizes on his gift — driving a golf ball over 400 yards — by attempting to make it on the PGA Tour. While Happy's skills have what it takes to hang, his temper and unorthodox style might get him kicked off before he ever plays.

Dunkirk (2017)
Does Christopher Nolan make Oppenheimer without the success of Dunkirk? It's hard to tell. However, Dunkirk clearly scratched Nolan's World War II itch, one that would lead to his Oscar-winning epic in 2023. Based on the famous operation in WWII, Dunkirk follows a group of Allied forces attempting to escape the beaches of Dunkirk.
Using a nonlinear narrative, Nolan depicts the evacuation on three battlefronts: air, land, and sea. The soldiers race towards freedom across the English Channel as the movie unfolds with a sense of urgency. With a rapid 106-minute runtime, Dunkirk proves Nolan has the goods to deliver an epic spectacle that's deeply moving and thrilling.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)
The last two directors to helm live-action Superman movies are James Gunn and Zack Snyder. Back in 2004, the two filmmakers collaborated on the remake of Dawn of the Dead, with Gunn penning the script and Snyder directing. In the Milwaukee area, a zombie outbreak decimates the population. Ana (Sarah Polley) and a group of survivors manage to find shelter in a local mall.
As the group learns more about the zombies' habits, they determine that the only way to ensure survival is to escape the city on a boat. With Gunn's witty humor and Snyder's fast-paced action, Dawn of the Dead is a remake that stands out and justifies its existence. It also makes you wonder what would have happened to Snyder's DC Extended Universe if Gunn wrote the scripts.

Teen Cuts Contact with Adoptive Parents After They Missed Graduation to Buy $350 ‘Rare' Labubu for Biological Daughter

The Teen wrote on Reddit that she only got a $150 gift for her big day An 18-year-old girl is wondering if she made the right decision in cutting off her adoptive parents after they missed almost all of her graduation to buy their biological daughter a "super rare" Labubu doll. Taking to Reddit's popular "Am I the A-----" subreddit, the teen said that she felt "justified" but wanted a second opinion. She explained that her parents had fertility struggles when they adopted her as a baby. Eight years later, they welcomed their "miracle" baby — whom she referred to as Princess, now 10. "Princess was spoiled and clearly the favorite. She never got in trouble, was always right, got WHATEVER she wanted and acted HOWEVER she wanted," she explained. While she didn't say she was mistreated, she wrote that she felt "jealous" of the extra attention and gifts given to her younger sister. The recent graduate said that she mostly stays out of the house to cut contact with Princess. "Now I have a car and a boyfriend (since sophomore year). I stay with him a lot and his family loves me so I'm barely home, maybe 24 hours at most weekly. My parents didn't care and this was my normal so I stopped caring too," she wrote. The situation took a turn for the worse on the day of her graduation, which the teen said was "one of the few things I asked my parents to come to." Her excitement about the day was dulled when Princess found a way to "ruin" it. "See her current obsession are these doll plush keychains called Labubus, she collects them and that specific day, she found this super rare one for sale in our city," she wrote. "Now instead of contacting the seller and buying it the next day, my parents went to go get it." She continued, saying that they showed up so late for graduation that the students were already tossing their caps. Making it worse, she shared that the Labubu cost $350, and her graduation gift from her parents was $150. "I was hurt. After graduation, I ignored them and went home with my boyfriend. I've basically moved in with him at this point since anytime I went back 'home' it was to get my things to go back. My parents called, texted, apologized, even came over and begged me to forgive them, worst part of it all, they think it's the money and sent me another hundred dollars. I refused to talk to them," she wrote. The situation is getting more "serious," she said, sharing that her parents were "threatening to report me as missing/ a runaway and contact my future college if I don't go back home." Many Redditors rushed to assure the user that her actions were entirely justified. "Sibling favoritism is so crazy to me and i think it's so unfair to the one being treated poorly. The fact that they only thought it was about the money speaks high volumes about their character. it doesn't help their case either that they adopted you and can't show you the same love they have for their 'real' offspring," one person replied. They continued, adding, "i wouldn't forgive them nor would i go back to their house for a good while. until they can understand what they are doing is completely unacceptable." is now available in the Apple App Store! "Been there, yo. people don't realize how much the 'little things' build up over time. you don't have to accept the bare minimum just 'cause it's coming from family. you deserve effort, too," another Redditor noted. Calling them "hurtful and dismissive," another person wrote that the girl's parents "prioritized a toy over your graduation." Others spoke to the legality of the situation, with many pointing out that she was legally an adult. Since she was 18, her parents had no control over what she also provided some advice and words of warning: "I would call your future college and explain that you are estranged from your parents. Tell them your parents are threatening to call the college and make a scene. Update all your contact info. Ask that a note be put on your profile that you do not authorize them to make any changes or obtain any information." "Honestly missing an important event like graduation for some stupid and expensive keychain, is just the straw that broke the camels back," another user commiserated. "I understand the princess being a miracle baby, but I have a feeling that in the next five to ten years your parents are really going to regret not disciplining her more." Taylor Swift makes Madame Tussauds history with 13 new figures inspired by Eras Tour outfits

Taylor Swift has made Madam Tussauds history as 13 new wax figures of the singer will be unveiled across 13 cities and four continents – the largest multi-figure launch in Tussauds' 250-year history. The landmark wax work collection celebrates Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024 and made history as the highest grossing tour of all time for two years in a row. Tussauds said in a statement that the exhibit aims to 'make guests feel as if they've stepped on stage' at the Eras Tour. The figures were created by a team of more than 40 artists over 14 months. First-look images released by Tussauds show figures now on display in Hollywood, Las Vegas, New York, Orlando and Nashville, wearing recognisable outfits from Swift's various album eras. Hollywood's Speak Now wax figure is dressed in a lilac ball gown with an ombré skirt. Meanwhile, Las Vegas's Fearless figure dons a gold-fringed Roberto Cavalli minidress worn by Swift. Elsewhere, New York's Midnights figure wears a recreation of Swift's tinsel jacket and deep blue Zuhair Murad playsuit and Orlando's Reputation figure wears a black sequin catsuit, also by Roberto Cavalli. Lastly, Nashville is home to the evermore waxwork; a figure of Swift wearing a replica of the pop superstar's mustard floor-length Etro dress. Madame Tussauds' global brand director Laura Sheard said the 'phenomenal success' of Swift's record-breaking tour provided the 'perfect moment' for Tussauds to celebrate her. 'Thirteen figures – Taylor's lucky number,' she said. 'Across four continents to ensure we're reaching as many fans as possible. We just know they are going to love it as much as we do.' The Eras Tour brought in $2.2bn (£1.6bn) in its nearly two-year run, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time for two years in a row. Swift earned praise for her generosity during the tour, donating hundreds of thousands of pounds to food banks in the cities where she performed. The pop star played the final show of her tour in Vancouver last December, where she told fans the shows had been 'the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging' experience of her life.
