Falcons undrafted free agent listed as Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate
Offensively, the team returns 10 of 11 starters from last season. Center Drew Dalman signed with the Chicago Bears in free agency, leaving the job to former undrafted free agent Ryan Neuzil. The Falcons offense has top-10 upside, and while there aren't many new faces, the team did add some intriguing undrafted free agents.

Pro Football Sports Network listed one potential Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate for each team. Since the Falcons only selected one offensive player in the 2025 NFL draft, the options were limited. Offensive tackle Jack Nelson was a seventh-round pick with little chance to play this season.
Instead of just going with Nelson, PFSN looked to Atlanta's undrafted free agent class for a better solution. Wide receiver Nick Nash was listed as the team's Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate.

Nick Nash joins the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent. Nevertheless, his college production and athletic traits could have an instant impact on the passing offense in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Nash led all college football receivers in receiving yards and touchdowns with the San Jose State Spartans in 2024, accumulating 1,382 yards and 16 touchdowns, transitioning to the position full-time. A former quarterback recruit, Nash has the instincts and natural game feel to impact the field in multiple situations. Nash might be a project, but the former quarterback-turned-wide receiver has a ton of potential. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein projected Nash as a fifth-round prospect ahead of the 2025 NFL draft. The former San Jose State wideout has good size (6-foot-2, 203 pounds), speed (4.57 seconds in 40-yard dash) and ball skills (16 touchdowns last season).

"Nash's competitiveness, ball skills and football character give him a chance to become a productive three-level slot receiver in the pros," Zierlein wrote in Nash's scouting report.
The fact that Nash went undrafted was a bit of a surprise, but he has a real chance to make the team. In our most recent Falcons 53-man roster projection, Nash snuck in as our final wide receiver. Keep your eyes on the rookie wideout once training camp begins in July.

Chiefs scouting report: Colorado Buffaloes CB DJ McKinney
The Kansas City Chiefs strengthened their secondary by signing Kristian Fulton in free agency and bumping All-Pro Trent McDuffie back to his natural role in the nickel. The combination of Jaylen Watson, Joshua Williams and Nohl Williams offers serviceable play at the other outside cornerback role, but the team should investigate potential upgrades in the 2026 NFL draft. Colorado Buffaloes legend Travis Hunter overshadowed many of his teammates in the secondary last season, including DJ McKinney. Hidden behind Hunter's once-in-a-generation Heisman Trophy campaign, McKinney performed at the level of a top 50 pick and might even elevate beyond that point if his game takes another step in 2025. McKinney is a wiry cornerback who lacks ideal mass, but his arm length should meet the league's thresholds. He excels in soft-shoe press in Cover 1 and Cover 3. McKinney's lack of play strength shows up in failed jams, but he drives outside releases into the sideline. His agility, foot quickness and speed help him make quick adjustments and remain attached to receivers in man coverage. McKinney gets in phase at the line of scrimmage and remains on the wide receiver's hip throughout the route. His poised approach shows no fear or panic as he effortlessly gears up and down to match the receiver's tempo. McKinney's explosiveness and long speed show up when he faces fades or posts. He allows little to no separation downfield and uses his acceleration to recover when initially beaten off the line. McKinney's football IQ helps him quickly identify and attack wide receiver screens. His quick processing and natural feel for spacing are evident in his approach to layered route concepts in zone coverage. McKinney recognizes intended targets in zone and quickly triggers downhill to undercut routes for potential interceptions. McKinney's ball production doesn't stand out. He rakes the receiver's hands at the catch point to break up passes but needs to improve his ball tracking and timing at the catch point to generate more turnovers. Overall, McKinney is an athletic, sticky man coverage corner with the advanced mental elements of the game to also excel in zone coverage. These skills make him a scheme diverse threat who could serve as a team's second-best outside cornerback early in his career.

A Zach Sieler extension is reportedly coming soon
An extension for Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Zach Sieler is coming soon, according to a report. Josh Moser of WSVN-TV said in an appearance on the podcast that the Dolphins and Sieler are working to get a deal done and expect to have it finalized before the regular season begins in September. "The Zach Sieler extension will get done before Week 1," Moser reported. "The plan is to get Zach paid before stepping on to the field. That has the ability to clear more cap space as part of a roster bonus or a guarantee like we saw with Minkah Fitzpatrick -- they did it as a signing bonus. So that would open up more [salary cap] room." Sieler, 29, signed a three-year extension with the Dolphins prior to the 2023 season and rewarded the team's faith with back-to-back 10-sack campaign -- something no other defensive tackle in the NFL accomplished in the last two years. But with two seasons left on his deal, his average salary doesn't even crack the top 30 among interior defensive linemen. The relatively cheap deal for Sieler isn't doing the Dolphins many favors either, as it is due to count $12.4 million and $11.5 million against the team's salary cap in 2025 and 2026, respectively. An extension could increase Sieler's salary and lower the hit against the Dolphins' salary cap by upwards of $5 million in each of the next two years. Earlier in July, Sieler told reporters that he expected the Dolphins would take care of him with a new deal soon. "I do feel that respect coming and I feel like I've earned it; I know I've earned it," Sieler said. "I know I have the best years ahead of me. I didn't play for three years in the NFL. I only played two and a half in college. So, you really think about it like I got less years under my belt than some rookies do. So, I really feel like my best years are ahead of me, and I have all that knowledge and experience from the last seven years." In six years with the Dolphins, Sieler has recorded 30 sacks, 49 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, and two interceptions.
