Congress pans KTR's rant against Revanth
In a media statement PCC spokesperson Bandi Sudhakar Goud stated that KTR and his family, during their regime, made countless promises to the people of Telangana but fulfilled none. 'Instead, they used the state's resources for personal and familial gains, crushing the hopes, dreams, and ambitions of the Telangana people—particularly betraying the sacrifices made by Telangana martyrs. It is unfortunate that KTR and his family enjoyed power standing on the graveyard of martyrs, but did nothing meaningful for the state,' he alleged.
Sudhakar Goud held that due to their massive corruption, Telangana was turned into a cash-starved state. In contrast, under the visionary leadership of CM Revanth Reddy, the Congress government is implementing the Six Guarantees one by one, winning public appreciation in a short span. 'KTR should remember that the people of Telangana are watching. They will give a fitting reply in the upcoming local body elections. We demand that KTR immediately apologise to Revanth Reddy for his irresponsible comments. Otherwise, he must be ready to face the wrath of the people,' he added.

RTC workers threaten hunger strike over unmet demands
Hyderabad: TheTelangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Workers Union has issued a warning to the state government, threatening to launch a mass hunger strike at Indira Park if long-pending workers' demands are not immediately addressed. The union's General Secretary, K Rajireddy, highlighted several critical concerns that have prompted this decision to call for a hunger strike. Among the key unresolved demands are wage revision, denied union recognition, and unpaid dues. Rajireddy stated, 'Despite Congress's 2023 election promise, the 2021 wage revision remains unimplemented. The previous BRS regime abolished welfare committees and banned unions—a policy the Congress government has yet to reverse. The government claims to have sanctioned 3,038 posts yet continues outsourcing drivers and conductors—a first in RTC's history.' Workers are also seeking a 100 per cent increase in the 2017 wage revision allowances. They demand immediae payment of 11 pending Dearness Allowances (DAs) from 2019 to 2024. Additionally, they seek arrears in bonds with five-year interest. There is also increased pressure on employees without job security or the regularisation of temporary staff. The Union demands immediate action on several fronts. These include forming a committee with union representation to draft RTC merger rules, withdrawing false police cases from the 2019 strike, ceasing outsourcing and commencing regular recruitment, compensating families of deceased/medically unfit workers, reviewing wrongful terminations under the Mahalakshmi scheme and breath analyser disputes, and holding elections for RTC's Credit Cooperative Society (CCS).

Senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan has said his party colleague Shashi Tharoor will not be invited to any party programme in Thiruvananthapuram till he changes his stance on the national security issue. Muraleedharan's remark came as he responded to reporters on a question of Tharoor sticking to his stand on the issue of national security. A day earlier, Tharoor had said that the nation comes first and parties are the means of making the country better. Reacting to Tharoor's remark, Muraleedharan said that Tharoor, also a Congress Working Committee (CWC) member, was no longer considered as 'one of us". He added that the party's national leadership would decide what action would be required against the Congress MP. 'Till he (Tharoor) changes his stance, we will not invite him to any party programme held in Thiruvananthapuram. He is not with us, so there is no question of him boycotting an event," Muraleedharan said. Shashi Tharoor, was led one of the multi-party delegations to world capitals to put forth India's stance against terrorism, had said that a lot of people have been very critical of him because of his stand supporting the armed forces and the central government in connection with India's response to Pakistan in the form of 'Operation Sindoor'. 'But I will stand my ground, because I believe this is the right thing for the country," he had said at an event in Kochi on July 19. Tharoor had also said that when people like him call for cooperating with other parties in the interests of national security, their own parties feel that it's disloyal to them and that becomes a big problem. Earlier too, Muraleedharn had hit out at Tharoor over sharing of a survey suggesting he is United Democratic Front's most preferred choice for chief minister, saying 'he should first decide which party he belongs to". The senior Congress leader had also attacked Tharoor following his article criticising Indira Gandhi over the Emergency appearing in a Malayalam daily.
