
Scoring 95%, LU ranks 5th in IIRF 2025

secured fifth position at national level in the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) 2025, .
According to university authorities, LU performed exceptionally well across all parameters, earning an impressive score of 951.62 out of 1,000.
IIRF rankings are among most comprehensive evaluations of higher education institutions in India.
Universities are assessed on key performance indicators such as placement performance, teaching-learning resources and pedagogy, research, industry income and integration, placement strategy and support, future orientation and external perception and international outlook."Among publicly funded state universities (non-medical and non-technical), LU stands as top-ranked university in UP and ranks third at the national level, following Punjab University and Andhra University," said LU Vice-Chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai.
He said this national recognition is testament to collective efforts of our faculty, students and staff. It reflects our sustained focus on quality education, impactful research and inclusive academic growth. The university is committed to continuing its journey of excellence and contributing meaningfully to higher education landscape of India.
"This achievement marks a significant milestone in the university's academic journey and adds yet another feather to its illustrious legacy spanning over a century," he added.

LU partners with 2 Lankan varsities
Lucknow: Lucknow University (LU) will engage in academic collaborations with the University of Kelaniya and the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. Both are premier institutions in Sri Lanka with which the LU has agreed to start joint collaborative projects, dual degree programmes and student and faculty exchanges, primarily for the postgraduate courses. The decision was taken during visit of a delegation of the LU to Sri Lanka on Thursday. Under the arrangement, faculty members would share their expertise and research students would get free access to libraries. "The LU held discussions with representatives of the two universities. The discussions focused on exploring prospects for academic collaborations, including joint degree and dual degree programmes, student mobility and resource sharing," said LU Vice-Chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai while talking to TOI. He said, "Our collaborations with Sri Lankan universities will provide opportunities to students and faculty to engage in international research projects, exchange programmes and joint degree initiatives. There are also plans for starting joint collaborative projects." Besides, student and faculty exchanges would be held primarily for the postgraduate programmes. "Short-term courses would also be conducted in recent developments across faculties," the VC said.

Former students help promote reputation:VC on LU alumni chapter in Sri Lanka
Lucknow: After setting up units in four Indian and two international cities, Lucknow University on Wednesday established its international alumni chapter in Sri Lanka. At present, LU has chapters in Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Guwahati, and two chapters outside India in Nepal and the United States of America. "By establishing the Sri Lanka alumni chapter, LU strengthened its global presence. An international alumni network offers significant benefits, including increased global visibility, enhanced recruitment opportunities, stronger philanthropic support, and valuable professional development resources for both current students and alumni. This network acts as a powerful ambassador for the university, boosting its reputation and attracting future students and funding," said LU vice chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai, while talking to TOI from Sri Lanka. The chapter's inauguration was marked by a gathering of former students of the university in Colombo, where Rai felicitated the alumni. He emphasised the importance of the alumni network in fostering connections between the university and its former students. He highlighted the role of the alumni in promoting the university's reputation globally and encouraged them to stay connected with their alma mater. Lucknow University UGET 2025 Dates: University of Lucknow has officially released the schedule for the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) 2025 for admission into various UG programmes for the 2025–26 academic session. According to the university's notice, the entrance tests will be conducted from July 5 to July 12, 2025, in two sessions each day.
