Ford Stock (NYSE:F) Slides, the 2026 Mustang Avoids Price Hikes

Shareholders proved oddly unhappy about a bit of news from legacy automaker Ford (F). This should have been welcome, but somehow, was not. The 2026 Mustang will be avoiding any big price hikes, which should keep it more accessible to drivers. Shareholders must have felt it a missed opportunity for revenue, as they sent shares sliding down nearly 1.5% in Monday afternoon's trading. Not only will the 2026 Mustang avoid any big price hikes, reports noted, but there will be very little in the way of price increase at all. Most 2026 Mustang configurations will have the same prices that they had in 2025. Though this will not be the case for all versions; in fact, the reports noted that the 2025 versions could actually be around $2,500 cheaper than the 2026 models based on the application of certain incentives. In fact, the base model 2026 Mustang will cost just $400 more than the 2025 version. Further, the base model is the only model of Mustang that sees an actual price hike. In fact, the 2026 Mustang EcoBoost Premium is actually $1,200 lower than it was in 2025. But there is one key difference: Ford apparently decided to make up the price difference on options. The 2026 Mustang no longer includes, as a standard, a Magnesium Framed Curved Glass Display. That is now an option for an extra $1,000. The Ranger Splash? We also know that Ford's 'No Boring Cars' campaign is still alive and well. But there may be one point that Ford is overlooking in pursuit of this, one report noted. Ford's dedication to removing the boring car could be extended to include trucks, and a previously-canceled line could be due for a comeback: the Ranger Splash. The report suggested that it was time for something comparatively new in trucks, not just '…another towering double-cab monstrosity.' Indeed, the report called for 'something fun,' like the Ranger Splash, regarded by some as '…Ford's forgotten party truck.' Original marketing for the Ranger Splash noted its target market: '…a typical Splash buyer will be young, single, with an on-the-go lifestyle.' Sounds just like what No Boring Cars Ford needs right now. The Splash did get a comeback of sorts in 2022, however, though more as a color scheme than as an actual vehicle. Is Ford Stock a Good Buy Right Now? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Hold consensus rating on F stock based on two Buys, 12 Holds and three Sells assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 4.18% rally in its share price over the past year, the average F price target of $10.14 per share implies 10.23% downside risk.

Disney Stock (DIS) Slips Despite The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Box Office Win

Disney (DIS) has scored another box office win with the opening weekend of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) pulled in an estimated $118 million from the domestic box office and $220 million worldwide. This has the film on track to surpass its $300 million budget. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! The Fantastic Four: First Steps ' box office performance matched analysts' estimates, but fell short of a projected $130 million best-case scenario. Even so, this is the best-performing Marvel film of 2025 and is also the highest-grossing non-sequel Marvel movie released in the last six years. These strong box office numbers could be a sign that superhero fatigue has started to weaken. One potential reason for the film's strong success is its lack of ties to the main Marvel film universe. As a result, viewers didn't have to watch any other shows or movies to understand the events of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Disney Stock Movement Today Disney stock was down 1.03% on Monday, despite the box office success of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. However, the shares were still up 8.42% year-to-date and 31.83% over the past 12 months. DIS stock has been boosted by strong box office releases in 2025: While these have been strong successes, Disney has had some flops this year. Among them are Snow White and Pixar's Elio, both of which failed to recoup their budgets when they hit theaters. Is Disney Stock a Buy, Sell, or Hold? Turning to Wall Street, the analysts' consensus rating for Disney is Strong Buy, based on 16 Buy and three Hold ratings over the past three months. With that comes an average DIS stock price target of $134, representing a potential 11.71% upside for the shares.

Walmart Stock (WMT) Widening Gap on Rivals Despite Holiday Price Hikes Ahead

Shares in U.S. retail giant Walmart (WMT) were marked higher today as it said it expects to gain market share from tariff turmoil this year. Market Share According to a note from analysts at Jefferies, even though Walmart has already raised prices on a range of goods given the uncertainty around President Trump's tariffs, it still expects to gain market share from its peers. Following a recent meeting with Walmart's head of investor relations, Steph Wissink, Jefferies said in a note that 'prices increased as the tariffs were implemented in April' for perishables and other items sourced from Central America. The firm noted that in June, prices also began to rise on 'infrequently purchased general merchandise items that were previously trending deflationary.' Such macro risks are key for consumer-facing stocks like Walmart as one can see below. Value Focus Jefferies said Walmart (NYSE:WMT) expects further increases on 'seasonal items heading into Halloween and the winter holidays,' but remains committed to its value-focused strategy: 'WMT remains committed to its Everyday Low Price strategy and taking less price than its peers,' it said. Despite inflationary pressures, Jefferies said Walmart believes that the U.S. consumer has been relatively resilient. 'We would categorize the US consumer as consistent,' said Jefferies, though Walmart has seen 'emerging signs of trade down and substitution.' It is understood that Walmart plans to aggressively compete during the upcoming back-to-school season by 'widening its price gaps on key, high-frequency items,' which it expects will boost share as consumers become more price-sensitive. Walmart is already performing well against its peers as can be seen below. In terms of inventory, Jefferies said Walmart expects it to jump in the second quarter given that the 'actual tariff rate is higher than originally expected.' However, analysts said they are 'not concerned about the health of the inventory.' Jefferies expects the company to reaffirm its full-year outlook, stating, 'We believe that WMT is well-positioned to achieve its guidance,' even as tariff-related volatility limits near-term upside. Jefferies has a Buy rating on the stock and a $120 price target. Is WMT a Good Stock to Buy Now? On TipRanks, WMT has a Strong Buy consensus based on 28 Buy ratings. Its highest price target is $120. WMT stock's consensus price target is $111.33, implying a 14.06% upside.
