Mimi Fly won't let past successes influence next single

Yahoo23-04-2025
23 Apr - Mimi Fly recently revealed that she has plans to release a new single following the success of both "Angkat" and her Eid song, "Serumpun".
The singer, real name Shamimi Amalina Norhisham, said that the single is currently in the process, but that it will take a little bit of time seeing that she is still promoting both aforementioned songs.
"My biggest concern right now is the time. Like 'Serumpun' earlier, it had to be done in a hurry because a lot of celebrities had already released their Eid songs at the time while I was still promoting 'Angkat'. For the next single, I will need some time for it," she said.
Speaking about the success of the previous two songs, Mimi admitted that she felt the pressure of keeping the momentum for her next single.
"My mum always said not to let previous success or failure affect what we do now. As an artiste, we have to continue to create and not let the past work influence our future creations. We can't limit our creativity just because of the success of the previous work," she said.
Mimi said that she needs the freedom to create and whatever comes next will not be influenced by what she has presented prior.

6 Summer Trouser And Sandal Combinations That Can Handle The Heat

When temperatures soar and the air feels thick with humidity, your outfit needs to do more than just look good, it needs to help you stay cool and comfortable. Enter the unsung heroes of warm-weather dressing: summer trousers and sandals. While summer dresses and shorts often steal the spotlight during summer, a well-chosen pair of lightweight trousers can offer equal parts style and ventilation, not to mention a touch of sophistication that shorts sometimes lack. And when paired with the right sandals, the result is a polished, put-together look that doesn't compromise on airflow. But pulling off trousers and sandals in the summer requires a bit of finesse. It's all about balance: fabrics that breathe, cuts that flatter, and footwear that complements. Think airy linens, relaxed satins, and sandals that range from minimal leather to trendy jelly sandals. The goal? To create combinations that not only survive the heat but thrive in it, even at the office. Here are six foolproof trouser and sandal pairings to get you started. Minimal sandals featuring some hardwear are aplenty this season, and a great way to introduce a point of interest in a pared-back ensemble. One for the Y2K style lovers out there, Peachy Den's Mimi cargo, parachute trousers should be finished off with some glittery flip flops and a baby tee. Play with textures by wearing Miu Miu's patent clogs with Gimaguas' linen trousers. Channel Sabrina Carpenter in this kitsch pairing of embroidered capris and peep-toe jelly shoes. La Veste's off-kilter trousers call for some vibe-matching shoes, and Alaïa's mesh flats fit the bill. Mix and match more formal, linen suit trousers by With Nothing Underneath with some laid back rope sandals. Bunga Isme admits past plan to collaborate with Mimi Fly

18 Jun - Bunga Isme recently admitted that she actually wrote her new song, "Tak Tidur Malam" as a collaboration with Mimi Fly. The 25-year-old rapper, who spoke about her upcoming album, said that she wrote that one particular song as a way to work with the former One Nation Emcees singer, but that it didn't work out after Mimi released her single, "Angkat", which became an instant hit. "When I saw her release 'Angkat' and it became popular, I felt a bit embarrassed [to approach her]. I did plan to tell her [about the collaboration], but she already released the song," she said. Bunga also stated that she was told by an acquaintance that Mimi was also focusing on releasing her new single, which eventually made Bunga halted her intention. "It's okay. I will keep this song for myself. Mimi doesn't even know about this plan anyway. The song has a dangdut theme, which is why I thought of her. I love hearing her sing dangdut songs," she said. The rapper said that the song was actually two years in the making, and was only completed this year. "I am very happy for Mimi because I have always followed her career. We always saw each other, but we never collaborated. I don't want to bother her because I know that it takes time to make a song," she added. (Photo Source: Bunga IG, Mimi IG)
