'I respect my boundaries—creatively, ethically, and emotionally—because I believe that's what makes me a more authentic and responsible performer,' Akshay shared. Talking about his working style, he emphasized his collaborative approach. 'I always follow a principle: I discuss my perspective with the director and crew. Based on that conversation, I play the character as directed. I believe in working as per the director's vision. I do offer my inputs, but ultimately, I follow the captain's call,' he explained. When asked about his thoughts on women-centric roles, Akshay acknowledged the positive change. 'Films like Kahaani, Mardaani, Raazi, Queen, Tumhari Sulu, and Gangubai have portrayed women as decision-makers, fighters, survivors, and leaders. These characters are no longer one-dimensional—there's real depth,' he said. 'I do believe there's been a visible shift away from stereotypical portrayals of women as just love interests or homemakers,' Akshay concluded.
