Bogdanovic retires after 10 NBA seasons due to foot injury
He won Croatian and Turkish league titles before making his NBA debut with Brooklyn in 2014 and later played for Washington, Indiana, Utah, Detroit and New York.
But Bogdanovic had season-ending foot surgery in 2024 and again this past February, never playing for the Nets after a return trade to Brooklyn.
"Sometimes in life, you don't choose the moment. The moment chooses you," Bogdanovic posted on social media.
"After 14 months of battling a foot injury, two surgeries and countless efforts to get back on the court, the time has come to close a chapter."
Bogdanovic averaged 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists over 719 career NBA games.
"After more than two decades in the game, the moment has arrived to say goodbye to basketball," Bogdanovic wrote. "Not just as a sport but as a part of who I am."
He averaged a career-best 21.6 points with Detroit in the 2022-23 campaign and made the playoffs seven times for a total of five clubs.
"Every stop left a mark," he wrote. "Every jersey carried it's own weight."

Federico Valverde then tested the Juve goalkeeper from long range and Trent Alexander-Arnold whipped a low ball across the face of the goal as Madrid finished the half strongly. The interval did nothing to alter the momentum of the game with Real creating several chances -- Bellingham laid off to Valverde, whose sweetly-struck shot was just wide and then Bellingham himself brought another good save out of Di Gregorio with a shot from the edge of the box. Dean Huijsen's rocketing drive was parried out by the busy goalkeeper as Real laid seige to the Juventus goal and it was no surprise when the breakthrough finally arrived. Alexander-Arnold floated in a cross from the right which Gonzalo met with a perfectly-timed header for his third goal in four games in the tournament. Juve responded with Portuguese winger Francisco Conceicao bringing Courtois into action from a low shot the Belgian shot-stopper did well to get down to. But Real wanted to finish the contest off and Valverde tested Di Gregorio's reactions with an overhead kick before Alonso decided to introduce Mbappe to the delight of the 62,149 crowd. Juve's belief remained however and Nicolas Gonzalez flashed a 25-yard drive just wide. At the other end, Real's Turkish midfielder Arda Guler saw his crisp shot kept out by the feet of Di Gregorio, but the one goal was enough.

Gilgeous-Alexander agrees record $285 mln extension: reports
Gilgeous-Alexander, who guided the Thunder to the NBA championship last month after a campaign that saw him win regular season and finals Most Valuable Player awards, is now tied to the club through 2031. Dortmund up against 'superstar' Ramos, aggressive Monterrey: Kovac
Former Real Madrid captain and four-time Champions League winner Ramos, 39, is Monterrey's defensive leader and Kovac highlighted the Spaniard's will to win and Monterrey's aggression.
