Fairground ride 'breaks off track and crashes' with three children inside
He said the ride was going at 'full pelt' when their car separated from the carousel and crashed into one he was riding in, before sliding into a speaker. One of his children was filming at the time and a video captured their screams as the spinning car suddenly dislodges and veers off the fairground ride.
Posting on Facebook, Mr McNulty said their car 'came completely off and then went flying into our car and then smashed about the place, crashing into the side off the track'.

He added: 'Thankfully there was a heavy large speaker that they collided with or they would have been through the whole thing and then the ending would have been a completely different story."
The three children were not seriously hurt in the malfunction. Photos taken by Mr McNulty showed where the car appeared to have broken off the waltzer ride. He said his children were 'very very lucky that they managed to get out of this still walking'.
Mr McNulty told the PA news agency that he had not heard from the fairground's operators following the incident. The fairground was open on Sunday, but the waltzer ride was closed.
Dr Scott Arthur, the MP of Edinburgh South West, wrote on X saying: 'A few people have been in touch about an incident at the funfair, and I am in the process of raising it with the council.'
Edinburgh City Council and the fairground's organisers have been approached for comment by PA.

9-year-old boy dies after swimming at Dartmouth, Massachusetts beach
A 9-year-old boy from Rhode Island died on Sunday after swimming at Jones Beach in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Bristol District Attorney Thomas Quinn announced the boy's death on Monday. It happened around 7:30 p.m. at the beach, which is located on John Street in Dartmouth. Witnesses said the boy was swimming and made it back to the beach under his own power. When he got back to the beach, the boy started to "experience medical distress," Quinn said. Bystanders at the beach performed CPR and called 911. An ambulance arrived and rushed the boy to St. Luke's Hospital, but he was pronounced dead. The boy has only been identified as a 9-year-old from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The Bristol County District Attorney said the boy's death is under investigation, but it is not considered suspicious. No additional details are currently available. Dartmouth is located in southeastern Massachusetts, about 62 miles from Boston and 38 miles from Providence, Rhode Island. Dartmouth has a population of about 33,000 people. Jones Beach is on the western side of Clarks Cove and is described as a family-friendly beach off of Buzzards Bay. In addition to swimming, there is a playground, softball field, picnic tables and bathhouse. According to the Town of Dartmouth website, lifeguards are on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily on the beach. Signs in the area on Sunday warned people to swim at their own risk because there was no lifeguard on duty.

ATV operator dies, his passenger injured, during crash with SUV in Pontiac
A Flat Rock man was killed and a woman was injured when an all-terrain vehicle collided with a GMC Terrain in Pontiac, Michigan. The accident happened about 4:55 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Melrose Avenue in Pontiac, according to the report from Oakland County Sheriff's Office. Anthony Thomas Cowgill, 25, of Flat Rock, was operating the 1987 Yamaha 30 ATV eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue. His passenger was a 31-year-old woman from Macon, Georgia. The vehicle was not legal for on-road use, the sheriff's office said. In the meantime, a 37-year-old woman from Pontiac was driving the GMC northbound on Melrose Avenue. The ATV operator disregarded the stop sign and struck the approaching SUV, deputies said. The GMC driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured. "An individual illegally operating an ATV lost his life, and his passenger was seriously injured. Incidents like this underscore the importance of safety and proper equipment use to help avoid such heartbreaking outcomes," Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said about the crash. The collision is under investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.

12-year-old dies due to injuries suffered after UTV overturns on Wisconsin farm
GREENWOOD, Wis. (WFRV) – A 12-year-old died due to injuries suffered after a UTV overturned on a western Wisconsin farm on Wednesday, July 2. Deputies with the Vernon County Sheriff's Office say the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday on private property near Kouba Valley Road in the Town of Greenwood. Deputies say that a 2014 Kubota RTV500 was being operated on a gravel surface, traveling down a slight incline, when the driver lost control on a curve, causing the UTV to overturn. Crash with SUV kills Wisconsin motorcyclist, 2 others suffer significant injuries Two children, ages 11 and 12, were on the UTV with the driver and were hospitalized as a result of the crash. The 12-year-old was later pronounced dead at the hospital, and the 11-year-old is expected to make a full recovery. 'Our hearts go out to the family and friends aching and grieving such a tremendous loss in our community. I appreciate everyone who answered the call and put forth extensive life-saving efforts with the highest level of compassion,' Sheriff Roy Torgerson stated.
