Can settle closer from the inside gate. EQUERRY (4) is a debutant by Snitzel. Closed well for second to Rainbow Glow in his Apr 24 Randwick trial. FERNWEH (5) is a first starter by Turn Me Loose. Pushed up after a slow start to share lead and beat Rosa Incanta in his Apr 17 Warwick Farm trial.

AGARWOOD (1) is a first starter by Wootton Bassett and a half-sister to recent stakes winner, Lilac. Jumped to the front and raced away to score by nearly eight lengths ion her Apr 24 Randwick trial. LIPSTICK (5) was third to stablemate Tempted on debut in December. Returned with a second Impact Zone on a heavy track at Newcastle. SYLPH (13) raced keenly back in the field before making ground out wide when fourth on debut at Hawkesbury on Apr 9 behind Grand Eagle who has won at Randwick since.

RACE 3: 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP (1300m)
FRANKLY SUBLIME (5) is a daughter of Snitzel and stakes-winning mare Frankely Awesome. Well backed on debut but raced greenly in the straight when a head second to Roman Forum at Gosford. WALK THE PIER (4) was a neck second to Correon on debut at Kembla when seven to Tomba at the same track last December. Returns as a gelding and has trialled nicely with two close seconds at Randwick. WINNER OF KOWLOON (8) will take improvement from her debit third behind Silver Wedding over 1100m here on Apr 21.

RACE 4: 5YO+ BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1000m)
STRUCK GOLD (5) improved off his first-up sixth when a length fourth to Tuned at Warwick Farm. Loves sting out of the track and should get an ideal run from the pole. NEGOTIATIONS (2) kicked off last preparation with a head second to Tanglewood over 1000m on the Kensington. Won his previous two first-up runs on soft ground over 1100m and 1000m. EXTRAVAGANT LAD (3) drop sin grade from his seventh to Miss Icelandic at Randwick. Nice win in the Cup Day Sprint at Orange first-up.

RACE 5: BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1600m)
SIGIRIYA ROCK (7) was fifth to Evoporate in the Group 3 Carbine Club over 1600m at Randwick second-up then became unbalanced near the 150m when bumped in the Group 3 Packer Plate over 2000m. Drops in grade and back to 1600m. SEAFALL (5) has been unplaced in three first-up runs but battled away for fourth to Our Empress Zoe at Canterbury. Is a second-up winner and has won two from three on the soft. CORMAC T (3) resumed with a nice third behind Our Empress Zoe when resuming. Drawn out but won't be far away again.

RACE 6: BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1600m)
DAME COMMANDER (9) did a nice job in her first campaign with a maiden win second-up over 1600m before a sixth in the Callander-Presnell and a third in the Spring Stakes at Newcastle. Will be improved by her first-up sixth to Lilac in the Group 3 James Carr. VILLASAURUS (5) raced wide without cover when a length third in the SDRA Qualifier at Wagga on Mar 1. Bounced back with a good win at Albury. MISTERKIPCHOGE (7) ran on well for fourth to Enter The Dragon at Hawkesbury first-up. Settled closer when second to Collect Your Cash on the Kensington last start.

RACE 7: C&G BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1300m)
PINK SHALALA (10) placed in five of his first six starts before breaking through with a tough win from Up To Mischief at Canterbury on Feb 21. Resumes here and can go on with it. SECURE (11) returned from a spell with a smart win by over two lengths from Donwon at Canterbury on Apr 21. Looks the hardest to beat. KYEEMA (13) raced well in Australia two years ago with placings in a couple of Midways before going to Hong Kong but he didn't fire there. Has been good in his two recent trials including a win in his Apr 24 Wyong heat.

RACE 8: F&M BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1300m)
HELLBENT ON YOU (4) resumed with a narrow but handy win from Formal at Hawkesbury before a long head third to Seascape on the Kensington and a nose second to Candlewick over 1200m here. Will run a big race again. JUST FEELIN' LUCKY (5) kicked off this campaign with a handy win at Newcastle from a wide gate. Drawn to get a nice run. MISS KIM KAR (6) ended last preparation with a hat-trick. Resumed with a strong closing third to Candlewick.

TRIBECA STAR (13) has two wins and three placings from five starts first-up and showed he is ready to add to his record with an impressive trial win at Murwillumbah on June 26. Winner at his only start here in the NRRA Country Championship Qualifier last year. BARBER (5) won the Listed Takeover Target Stakes over this trip three starts back. Raced wide in the Listed Bob Charley behind In Flight before a two-length fifth in the Group 3 Healy at Eagle Farm. COMPELLING TRUTH (1) is in great form coming off a win in the Listed Hinkler Stakes. BET: TRIBECA STAR each-way. ARRABBIATA (3) was just behind the placegetters in her first two runs this campaign over 1280m and 1400m in a BM66 and a Class 3. Returns in the same grade. BELLA KHADIJAH (2) started an odds-on fav and won according coming from near last when resuming at Hawkesbury. BET: SHE CONQUERS to win. EPIC PROPORTIONS (1) boxed on to finish just over two lengths away when fifth to Storm The Ramparts on a heavy track at Randwick before a three-quarter-length second to Axius here last start. Can go one better. VANESSI (7) is better than her last-start sixth at Warwick Farm. Will appreciate a big drop in weight. Was third to Livin' Thing first-up before that. CANPIKAPONY (4) resumed with a nice win from Gold Card at Gosford on June 19. Won second-up last campaign. BET: EPIC PROPORTIONS to win. KYEEMA (9) stepped up to 1400m and scored a good win from Superhero over 1400m here. Missed the start by three lengths before rattling home for a half-length second to Heaven Bound at Hawkesbury. Can bounce back. PINK SHALAA (7) was held up from the 500m and just got clear near the 150m when fifth to Nana's Wish at Warwick Farm last start. Placed his three previous runs over this trip. WHO EVER THOUGHT (2) is shooting for a hat-trick after a win in the Country Cup at Scone and a nose win from Forecaster at Canterbury over this trip. BET: KYEEMA each-way. LUGH (5) was shuffled back to midfield when fourth behind big winner Getafix when resuming over 1300m here on June 25. Won three of his first four starts including one over 1500m second-up. SAMMY CONQUERS ALL (6) was unlucky when just behind the placegetters in three Queensland runs from wide draws. Nice win at Coffs Harbour last start and gets a nice run from the inside gate. LADY BOSS (9) has been freshened and drops in grade from her sixth to Changing Colours at Rosehill. Placed her previous two in midweek company.

Tony Gollan unfazed by prospect of Antino taking on Via Sistina in Cox Plate
Tony Gollan has the highest respect for Via Sistina but has virtually wiped her name from his brain as he uses a laser focus to plot a path towards the Cox Plate for Queensland freak Antino. Nine-time Group 1-winning superstar Via Sistina ($2.30) and Antino ($6) are top of the pops in early Cox Plate betting and it's an even more tantalising prospect considering they are potentially likely to clash several times beforehand. Champion Queensland trainer Gollan is relishing the challenge and said he won't be ducking and diving from tangling with Via Sistina. 'I am aware that we will probably run into Via Sistina after she runs in the Winx Stakes and we will probably run into her the rest of the way through during the spring,' Gollan said. 'But I am more focused on Antino than I am worried about someone else's horse. 'Chris (Waller) has got his own plan for his horse and I've got my own plan for mine, based on what I think will work for me. 'I can alter off that plan if I want but it wouldn't be to be dodging Via Sistina, I would only be changing if I felt I needed to add an extra run before the Cox Plate. 'It's just a process to have Antino at his best for the Cox Plate. 'And I just feel this is the perfect preparation for him, providing everything can go smoothly for us.' Antino has been more of a work in progress but he showed last year's Group 1 Toorak Handicap triumph was no fluke when he torched his Group 1 Doomben Cup opposition by four lengths during the recent Queensland winter carnival. Gollan has successfully turned Antino from a sprinter-miler into a middle distance weapon and the exciting gelding ran past Pride Of Jenni like she was standing still when scoring the Doomben Cup in record time. Antino is back in work and Gollan said he wants his stable star to be fourth-up when racing in the Cox Plate. He has tailored an elite spring preparation to suit. 'His first-up run will be Memsie Stakes on August 30 and from there we go two weeks to the Makybe Diva Stakes, they are the two races locked in,' Gollan said. 'Everything going well, my plan would be then three weeks into the Turnbull Stakes and then three weeks into Cox Plate. 'He would be fourth-up into the Cox Plate which I think is probably his optimum. 'Then after that we would hopefully go onto the Champions Stakes as his fifth run of the campaign. 'Antino has put on nice weight, off a short break, and he is doing a bit of three quarter pace work this week as we build things up for him.' Antino and Blake Shinn have been a perfect match, with the star Victorian jockey getting the best out of the Queensland superstar by setting off around his rivals and sustaining a long sprint in his Group 1 wins. Every indication is that the unique Moonee Valley circuit will suit those daring tactics.

‘Cashing cheques': Footy boxing ‘sideshow' trashed as Tim Tszyu primed for ‘redemption'

There are two fights in Australian boxing this week but the gulf in stakes and boxing class between the two couldn't be more stark. Tim Tszyu (25-2) takes on Sebastian Fundora (22-1) at the MGM Grand for the WBC superwelterweight title on Sunday, more than a year after Fundora handed the Aussie his first ever loss in a Las Vegas nightmare. A nasty gash from an errant Fundora elbow opened up on Tszyu's forehead and blood poured out of the wound as Tszyu bravely fought on, going the distance. He lost on the scorecards and his year from hell continued when he got knocked out by Bakhram Murtazaliev last October, appearing spooked by the previous fight. But Tszyu, 30, got back in the winner's circle with a commanding stoppage win over Joey Spencer in April and now he has his sights set on getting revenge on Fundora, 27, after the 'Towering Inferno' threatened to derail his career. On the other side of the world, Paul Gallen, 43, and Sonny Bill Williams, 39, fight in Sydney on Wednesday night, finally getting in the ring together as the pair of retired footy players put a decade of bad blood on the line. (Photo by) AFL great and boxing aficionado Jonathan Brown will be part of Main Event's coverage for Tszyu's fight in Las Vegas, and he told that fight is the one worth watching this week. 'Well Tim's fighting for a world title, so he's the best in the world,' Brown said. 'Good on Paul and Sonny for still having a crack and they're in magnificent condition. They had magnificent rugby league careers, and good luck to them. 'But if you're a true fight fan, even if you're not a fight fan, the Tszyu name is legendary in our country and Tim will further that. 'This is the top of the world. The best boxer in the world at this weight division.' Fox Sports voiceover guru Matt Nable sums up the dynamic about the two fights, which have the same $70 pay-per-view cost, in Main Event's hype package you can watch in the video above. 'If you want Australia's most important fight of the year, you've come to the right place,' Nable says. 'You get the sideshow. This ain't two old footy players cashing cheques long after careers ended. This is the world's biggest boxers in the most famous fighting city, with real world titles on the line. Williams and Gallen are set to pocket around $1 million each from this fight. Tszyu primed for 'redemption' The stage is set in Vegas this weekend for Tszyu to avenge his loss to Fundora and keep his dream of becoming undisputed boxing world champion alive. 'It's a huge opportunity,' Brown said. 'The journey Tim's been through, he lost those couple of fights — there were a lot of questions about whether he was good enough or able to get back there. 'The story of redemption is something that draws people in and that's why people should watch Tim fight. 'You need that defining moment as an athlete. Tim would have felt like he's been in the depths of hell over an 18-month period. 'He went over to Orlando with high expectations and got cleaned up by Murtazaliev, which would have been shattering. He had to take stock, rebuild himself and he's come out the other side and walked towards the fire. 'It's great the opportunity (of a rematch) has come quicker than expected — to be able to get revenge and get that belt back. The stage is set for Tim Tszyu's redemption story in Vegas. It's the biggest fight for an Australian in quite a while.' The height difference between Sebastian Fundora and Tim Tszyu is large. It's a stacked card — Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is fighting Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title at 46 years of age in his first bout since he lost a title fight to Yordenis Ugas in 2021. 'I saw him fight Jeff Horn, which was amazing. One of the greatest sporting events I've ever been to at Suncorp Stadium,' Brown said. Brown was a fierce competitor on the field for the Brisbane Lions but he has no desire to fight, apart from the odd sparring session. 'I've put the shield down, it's been a long time,' Brown said. 'The last time I sparred was against my young fella, he's 12. He put one on me and my ear was ringing for about two nights. 'No plans to jump in the ring, certainly not anymore.'
