Move over Dunder Mifflin, there's a new "Office" in town.
Peacock announced Monday that new mockumentary comedy "The Paper" will premiere this September on the streaming service. The series is set in the universe of NBC's beloved "The Office," and sees the documentary crew that spent nine years in Scranton move to Toledo, Ohio. This time they're documenting the floundering newsroom of local paper The Truth Teller, and the "Eager publisher trying to revive it," according to a news release.
The new series will star original "The Office" cast member Oscar Nunez, along with Domnhall Gleeson ("About Time") and Sabrina Impacciatore ("The White Lotus). "The Paper" is produced by "The Office" creator Greg Daniels alongside Michael Koman ("Nathan For You").
Peacock announced "The Paper" premiere at its annual upfront presentation in New York, where the streamer and other networks reveal new shows to advertisers to sell ad time. Gleeson, Nunez and Impacciatore were onstage at the event, where they debuted a clip of the series which Gleeson described as being about 'underdog characters that are banding together to keep journalism alive.'
Peacock also announced several other new series including scripted originals 'All Her Fault,''The Miniature Wife,' 'The Burbs' and 'The Copenhagen Test' and unscripted series 'Tiffany Haddish Goes Off,' 'Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together,' 'Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks' and true crime documentary 'Gilgo Beach Killer: The House of Secrets.'
"All Her Fault" stars Sarah Snook ("Succession"), Dakota Fanning and Jake Lacy ("The White Lotus") in a Chicago-set thriller in which a mother (Snook) arrives to pick up her son from a playdate only to discover he's not there. "The Miniature Wife" is a marriage comedy based on the short story by Manuel Gonzales, starring Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen ("Succession).
Haddish's series sees the "Girls Trip" star and three close childhood friends travel together on a four-week-long trip to Africa to explore their connection to the continent.

Is Paramount+ Sneak-Dissing ‘South Park' By Putting It in the ‘Cringeworthy' Category?

After weeks of public conflict and embarrassment, Paramount+ may retain the streaming rights to South Park after all, but there's nothing in the contract that says they can't stay pissy in the main menu. According to industry insiders, Paramount Global is in advanced negotiations with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone over a settlement that would avoid a lawsuit between the parties and secure an extension to the lucrative overall South Park contract. After Parker and Stone publicly accused Paramount and its prospective new owners at Skydance Media of meddling in their negotiations with other streaming giants following the breakdown of the initial extension talks, the South Park creators seemed poised to go to war with Paramount and its partners on more fronts than just social media and strongly worded letters. Then, over the weekend, Hollywood insider Matthew Belloni reported that Paramount was making major strides toward settling the dispute with Parker and Stone out of court while securing the future of South Park on its home platform. At the same time, however, Paramount+ listed the entirety of its South Park offerings in the 'Cringeworthy Comedies' category, as one fan of the show pointed out in the South Park subreddit. Maybe Paramount+ is taking subtle shots at South Park after pulling the show from international streaming markets amidst the acrimonious contract dispute — or maybe they really can't get through South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut without wincing. Musicals aren't for everyone. Seriously, South Park has had some pain-inducing moments over its 26 seasons and counting — Cartman's 'red rocket' method in the Season Five episode 'Proper Condom Use' jumps out as especially hard-to-watch — but South Park is hardly cringeworthy comedy in the way that the term typically describes shows like The Office and Curb Your Enthusiasm. A 'cringe comedy' is generally accepted to mean a series that uses social awkwardness and the accidental transgression of social norms as the foundation for the humor, not one that features shockingly graphic depictions of dog masturbation by a sociopathic child. Given the bad fit, the fact that every single South Park streaming special available on Paramount+ is headlining the cringeworthy comedy category is certainly suspicious. However, the simplest explanation is that the front-and-center placement is just the algorithmic consequence of subscriber streaming habits that no human being influenced on Paramount's end. Or, alternatively, Paramount is intentionally featuring South Park in an ill-fitting and possibly insulting category because it's trying to milk every view it can out of its South Park content, just in case negotiations fall through and they lose the rest of the South Park library forever. But while that would certainly be a pathetic explanation for the puzzling category classification, it would only be the second most cringeworthy milking scheme in South Park history. Former ‘Real Housewives of Miami' star Lea Black shares post after losing husband

Lea Black reached out to friends, family and fans Tuesday after word spread that her husband had passed away. Top criminal defense lawyer Roy Black, whose clients included numerous celebrities and prominent figures, died at age 80 Monday after battling an unknown illness. 'Thank you for all your blessings,' the former 'Real Housewives of Miami' star wrote on social media. Fans were introduced to the power couple and their young son RJ in the first season of 'RHOM,' which first aired in 2011. They lived in a sprawling, historic mansion in Coral Gables, and Lea gave the Miami Herald a grand tour that year. The pair's annual gala turned into a major plot point after ex cast member Cristy Rice crashed the charity event with two people, and a feud between her and Lea ensued for many, many episodes. Lea, 69, ended up leaving in Season 3 and did not show up for the Peacock reboot in 2021. The Texas native born Lisa Douthit went on to run a successful eponymous skincare company. The philanthropist added that details of a tribute and celebration of life for Roy will be forthcoming 'in a few weeks.' A service will reportedly be held at the New York native's alma mater, the University of Miami. In the comments, condolences poured in from prominent locals like chef Ingrid Hoffman, artist Romero Britto and politician Michael Gongora as well as from former castmates Lisa Hochstein, Karent Sierra and Romain Zago. A few of Roy's onetime clients also chimed in with good wishes, like Joe Francis. In 2008, the 'Girls Gone Wild' creator pleaded no contest to charges of videotaping underage girls, and was released after serving 11 months. The Blacks married in 1994, three years after Lea served as a juror in the highly publicized William Kennedy Smith rape trial, which ended in Roy getting the scion acquitted. The ex reality star told the Herald Tuesday that her late husband always 'fought for the underdog and people's civil rights,' regardless of who they were. 'He understood that we all have our flaws,' she said. 'He was able to separate people's behavior from their character. He wanted the best for everyone.'
