Britney Spears partied all night with Sean ‘Diddy' Combs before disastrous MTV VMAs 2007 performance
Resurfaced photos of the 'Toxic' songstress show her smiling alongside the Bad Boys Records founder at Jet nightclub in Las Vegas on Sept. 7, 2007.
Later that night, Spears joined Combs, Paris Hilton and 50 Cent at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for another party hosted by the 'In da Club' rapper.
The bash continued into the early morning of Sept. 8, 2007, though it's unclear what time Spears went home.
The photos of the 'Womanizer' hitmaker, now 43, partying with Combs, now 55, were unearthed after Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura name-dropped Spears during Combs' ongoing sex-trafficking trial. (The 'I'll Be Missing You' rapper has denied the charges against him.)
The 'Me & U' singer, now 38, testified that her relationship with Combs 'sort of' began in September 2007 while celebrating her 21st birthday in Las Vegas.
'Sean was there, and he brought Dallas Austin, Britney Spears. I think those were the two people that stand out to me,' Ventura said in court on May 15.
Spears infamously took the stage at the MTV VMAs on Sept. 9, 2007, to perform her song 'Gimme More.'
The performance was expected to be her comeback, but the pop icon faced faced widespread criticism for her lackluster choreography and poor lip-syncing.
In her 2023 memoir, 'The Woman in Me,' Spears wrote that 'nothing was going right' before she performed.
'There was a problem with my costume and with my hair extensions,' she wrote.
'I hadn't slept the night before. I was dizzy.'
Spears had also bumped into her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake — whom she dated from 1999 to 2002 — backstage.
'It had been a while since I'd seen him,' she wrote. 'I couldn't believe I was going to have to go out onstage feeling the way I felt.'
At the time, the 'Circus' singer was also facing intense public scrutiny after divorcing Kevin Federline and infamously shaving her head months earlier.

Sharon Stone's mother has passed away. The 67-year-old actress took to Instagram on Monday (21.07.25) to share news of her mother Dorothy's passing at the age of 91 - which is said to have happened in March. In an emotional social media post, Sharon wrote: "My hilarious, complex mother died. "A product of the last depression, let's NOT do this again. Let's protect and care." The Basic Instinct star previously described her mother's parenting style as "tough" and explained that feminism was among "the rules of my household". The Casino star told People in 2023: "I'm grateful that I chose motherhood as a healthy approach to my life and I didn't prioritise Hollywood, because they certainly didn't prioritise me." Sharon lamented how her health scare halted her movie career and led the collapse of her marriage with journalist Phil Bronstein -with the couple divorcing in 2004. She said: "I lost everything. I lost all my money. I lost custody of my child. I lost my career. I lost all those things that you feel are your real identity and your life. "I never really got most of it back, but I've reached a point where I'm okay with it, where I really do recognise that I'm enough." Sharon admits that it was tough to come to terms with her illness as she felt that she was supposed to be "taking care of everybody else". She explained: "I come from a very broken family. I grew up believing that taking care of everybody else was what I was supposed to do. It took me a long time to understand that I had a life of my own and that I didn't have to fix it for everybody else, and that it was okay for me to receive care, for me to be enough as a disabled person. "I feel proud of myself and proud of my accomplishments - from surviving to helping others survive."

Darius Rucker cleared to continue tour
Darius Rucker has been given the all clear to continue his tour after cutting a gig short due to health issues. The Hootie and the Blowfish star, 59, was performing at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City on July 12, when he told fans he physically couldn't continue any longer and was forced to abandon the show mid-set - promising to make it up to them and offer refunds - and now it has been confirmed the country singer has been given the green light to get back on stage again. A representative for Rucker told USA Today: "There is no further interruption in his touring schedule. Following vocal rest, Darius has been cleared to resume shows." A video filmed during the doomed Atlantic City show, showed Rucker telling the audience: "I'm going to play one more song. I promise you, we are going to figure this out. You're going to get your money back. I just can't sing. "This [has] never happened. I physically can't sing, and I promise you on everything that I stand for I will make this up to you." The audience then helped him by singing the lyrics to Wagon Wheel. Apologising to the crowd, he said: "I'm so sorry." Rucker only managed to fully perform three songs (Life's Too Short, It Won't Be Like This for Long and For the First Time) - the fourth being Wagon Wheel, with the crowd's assistance. After the show, he took to Instagram to apologise to the audience because it had become clear he would not be able to reschedule the concert. The singer explained: "I feel awful and I'm so sorry - I have never lost my voice in all my years of performing. We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it's just not possible this year, so we're issuing full refunds." Rucker is due back onstage on Saturday (19.07.25) in Florida. The Atlantic City show was the third stop on Rucker's tour, which will continue across the US throughout August and September before he is scheduled to head to the UK and Canada. The tour will finish with a run of shows in Naples, Florida in December.
