Actor Tanuj Virwani revealed how he caught his spot-boy stealing personal belongings and handed him over to the police.
Tanuj Virwani's 10-year-old spot boy has been caught stealing personal belongings from the actor's Mumbai residence. The Inside Edge actor recently opened up about the shocking incident, revealing how the thefts went unnoticed for months. It wasn't until Tanuj and his family noticed that things were going missing one by one. Later, some of the stolen goods were recovered from the spot boy's bag.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Tanuj revealed, 'Of late, we had been noticing that a lot of items in our home, starting from the currency of other countries where we travelled or other expensive items like watches and stuff have just been going missing. To be honest, we aren't the kind of family who prefers keeping CCTV at home. We ideally believe in trusting our people."
The Rana Naidu 2 actor went on to reveal that the spot boy had a lot of access to the things. 'We believe in trusting our staff, and we believe in treating them like our family. We don't discriminate. So, when we found out, we went through his bags and we got to recover some items. However, many items like watches and other stuff haven't been recovered yet."
After the theft came to light, Tanuj Virwani's family approached the Mumbai Police, who quickly swung into action and are currently investigating the matter, with the spot boy being questioned. 'I believe it is truly the best police in the world and they were swift to come in and take action. As of now, they are going to be interrogating him," he revealed.
Reflecting on the incident, Tanuj Virwani emphasised the importance of being vigilant, saying, 'Well, we have to be a lot more mindful. To be honest, what happened earlier this year in the whole Saif Ali Khan case was a massive eye-opener. It doesn't matter how good your society or building security is. Sometimes, the traitors can just be in your very home."
On the work front, Tanuj Virwani made his debut in Bollywood with the film Luv U Soniyo in 2013. He has since worked in films like Purani Jeans, One Night Stand and Yodha. Now, the actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming web series Rana Naidu 2, alongside Rana Daggubati.

‘Digital arrest' case: Faridabad man duped of Rs 1.14L, two from UP arrested, say police

Faridabad Cyber Crime Cell on Tuesday arrested two persons from Uttar Pradesh in connection with duping a city resident of Rs 1.14 lakh, claiming that he was being digitally arrested by the Mumbai Police, officers said Wednesday. On September 30, 2024, the victim, a resident of Sector 2, Faridabad, lodged a police complaint, stating that he received a call from a person, identifying himself as a Mumbai Police officer. 'The caller accused me of being involved in a money-laundering case and threatened me with arrest,' the complainant stated. 'The caller instructed me to transfer all funds from my bank account to a specified account, claiming the Reserve Bank of India would verify the money and return it to me if I was found innocent. I transferred Rs 1,13,999 into the account number they provided,' the complainant stated. Based on the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections at the Cyber police station in Ballabgarh, police said. During the investigation, police said, Amit (29) from Sidhauli village of Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh and Gaurav Kumar Rana (29) from Narsena village in Bulandshahr, UP, were arrested. Police said during interrogation, they disclosed that Amit, a driver, provided his bank account number to Gaurav. Gaurav and his other accomplices orchestrated the fraud and withdrew the transferred money from ATMs, police said. A court sent Gaurav to four days of police custody for further questioning and Amit to judicial custody. This is, however, not the first such case in recent times in Haryana. Last month, a 62-year-old woman from Turkmenistan was robbed of Rs 5.81 lakh by four men posing as police officers at the HUDA market in Gurgaon city's Sector 52 area.
