"Disastrous for Pakistan...": Defence Expert on PM Modi's 'Wahan se goli chalegi, yahan se gola chalega' directions
'This is historic, after 20 days, the market has gone up 1800 points. It was a mini war, drones and missiles were used, and BrahMos was ready to hit Karachi, but was not used. There was an exchange of fire on the LoC and loss of lives was reported. PM Modi gave instructions that 'Wahan se goli chalegi, yahan se gola chalega'. It means the BrahMos missile, the Agni missile, and it would have been disastrous for Pakistan. The Director General of Military Operations of India will talk to the DGMO of Pakistan,' the Defence Expert told ANI.
On May 11, PM Modi had given clear directions to the Armed forces to respond to cross-border firing and shelling with full force, saying 'Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola,' sources said.
They said the Operation Sindoor is far from over, and India will respond with bombs to every Pakistani bullet fired from across the Line of Control (LoC).
They said that the PM has said enough is enough, 'Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola chalega.' (If they fire bullets from there, we will respond with bombs). The turning point was the attacks on the air bases, they said.
'If they fire, we will fire, and if they attack, we will attack,' sources added.
Following India and Pakistan's understanding on the cessation of hostilities, the Indian Air Force informed that the tasks assigned to it in Operation Sindoor had been completed with 'precision' and 'professionalism.'
They further informed that the operations are still ongoing and have not finished. According to their post on 'X,' a special briefing regarding the same will be conducted in due course.
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 to strike multiple terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir after a deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam last month. (ANI)

'Balanced', 'forward-looking': Pakistan hails 19% tariffs under U.S. trade deal
Pakistan on Friday (August 1, 2025) announced that the U.S. has imposed a 19% tariff on its exports and termed the step as a "balanced and forward-looking" move that enhances the country's competitiveness in the American market. The new rate is down from the previous 29% tariff announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Welcoming the "successful conclusion" of the tariff-related discussions with the U.S., the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said, 'As per the outcome of these talks, a tariff of 19% will be applicable for Pakistani exports to the U.S. market.' The decision reflected a 'balanced and forward-looking approach by the U.S. authorities, keeping Pakistan competitive relative to other South and Southeast Asian countries', it said. The Ministry said the revised tariff level is expected to support Pakistan's export potential, especially in key sectors such as textiles, "which remain the backbone of the country's export economy'. Pakistan's exports to the U.S. rose by 11.06% to $5.552 billion from $4.999 billion in the first 11 months of the last fiscal. The Ministry said the current tariff presented a 'significant opportunity to expand Pakistan's footprint in the U.S. market'. 'It is now essential for Pakistani exporters and trade bodies to adopt an aggressive and focused marketing strategy to capitalise on this development,' it said. The statement also pointed out a substantial potential for growth in other sectors. 'The Government of Pakistan looks forward to further positive engagements and close cooperation with the United States in the areas of investment, artificial intelligence, crypto currency, mines and minerals, energy, and other emerging sectors," it said. The Ministry said Pakistan will continue to engage closely with Mr. Trump and the U.S. administration to promote the shared goals of economic development and mutual prosperity. The revised tariff for Pakistan came after the U.S. and Islamabad finalised a trade deal in Washington on Wednesday. In a social media post on Wednesday, the U.S. President said, 'We have just concluded a deal with the country of Pakistan, whereby Pakistan and the United States will work together on developing their massive oil reserves.' However, it was not immediately clear what massive oil reserves in Pakistan Mr. Trump was referring to. Meanwhile, Khurram Schehzad, Adviser to Pakistan's Finance Minister, in a social media post said, 'Pakistan is possibly the only country which the U.S. has offered its investments as well, besides a competitive trade deal.' The 'deal signals a strategic deepening of economic ties and shared growth', he said. Pakistan has long claimed to have large oil deposits along its coast, but no progress has been made to tap those deposits. It has been trying to lure in investments to tap into these reserves. The country currently imports oil from West Asia to meet its energy demands. Mr. Trump on Thursday signed an executive order that raised tariffs for over five dozen countries with Washington's negotiations for trade deals went down to the wire ahead of the August 1 deadline. The tariffs in the list range from 10% to 40%, with Japan being charged 15%, Laos and Myanmar (40% each), Sri Lanka (20%) and the United Kingdom (10%).

Modi to release 20th installment of PM-Kisan from Varanasi today
Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday disburse the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme from Varanasi, injecting Rs 20,500 crore into the accounts of 9.7 crore farmers nationwide. Aug 2 — the day of release of the 20th installment — will be observed as the 'PM-Kisan Day'. Under the scheme, financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year is transferred to the bank accounts — in three equal installments, every four months — of landholder farmers' families across the country through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. PM Modi is set to visit his parliamentary constituency for the 51st time on Saturday, where he'll address a public gathering and launch 54 projects valued at Rs 2,183 crore through foundation-laying and inauguration ceremonies. Before addressing a public gathering, the Prime Minister is set to launch 54 projects valued at Rs 2,183 crore. The initiatives include the inauguration of 14 completed projects worth Rs 565 crore and the foundation-laying ceremony for 38 new development projects worth Rs 1,618 crore. Commissioner of Police Mohit Agrawal, overseeing the final preparations for the PM's visit, stated that all arrangements for security, crowd, and traffic management are in place. Traffic restrictions on the route to the Sevapuri public meeting venue will be enforced from early morning until the VIPs depart. The CP said that rooftop duty is being ensured in the areas around the event venue and on the VVIP route, with monitoring via CCTV and drones. Police personnel on VVIP duty are prohibited from using mobile phones at the duty point, and no person without a pass will be allowed entry into the restricted area. Gazetted officers involved in VVIP duty should brief police personnel at the duty point about the sensitivity of their duty. All attendees at the event venue will undergo thorough security screening. Temporary parking facilities have been arranged near the event venue, with checkered plates in place to handle rain. To ensure smooth traffic flow, vehicles will not be allowed to park on roads. A motorcycle squad and additional personnel have been deployed for effective traffic management. Senior officers will be equipped with sufficient ropes for crowd control Traffic officials announced that the Kachhwa-Kapsethi-Babatpur road will be restricted to vehicles carrying the public meeting participants only. Other vehicles will be diverted via Ring Road to Harhua crossing through Rakhauna. To manage the influx, five designated parking zones have been set up for different categories of vehicles.
