Bleach Lab – Close To The Flame
Track List Drown Feel Something In Your Arms Close To The Flame If I Could Be Anything Beach Lab have become pioneers of their genre. These are an indie act that have fire in their hearts, and their brooding sound is cathartic and perfectly mind-blowing. Their new EP Close To The Flame, blends in these emotive lyrics with stupendous riffs that are memorable right from the off. It is the wordplay that helps to create worlds though, managing to create a sound that's sometimes enchanting and sometimes dark. On this EP, Bleach Lab direct their lyrics like boats going into the flood, and it's not all roses and gold, as the band show their sad side too. The sweeping instrumentals are gorgeous here, and they have been shaped and polished well. Creating these intricate sounds has always been a challenge and a dream for this outfit, and on Close To The Flame, they are boundless. 'Drown' begins the EP with beautiful vocals that are dropped into the well-measured instrumentals. The story then starts at love and ends in smoky rooms. 'In Your Arms' starts with echoes and sweeping guitar parts as well as serene vocals. Lyrically, death is explored and hopelessness becomes a grating feeling as the band shows their vulnerabilities here. 'If I Could Be Anything' bonds together perfectly strummed guitars and evocative vocals, and the lyrics describe broken memories and death. The middle part of the track in particular is fantastic, as the instrumentals bloom. Bleach Lab is a talented outfit, shaping their music and fighting for peace in such a difficult world.

Ashley Roberts takes inspiration from Madonna's famous conical bra as she slips into a figure-hugging red satin dress for the UK premiere of Freakier Friday
She's no stranger to showing off her quirky sense of style. And Ashley Roberts took inspiration from one of music's most iconic stars as she graced the purple carpet for the UK premiere of Freakier Friday at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on Thursday. The former Pussycat doll, 43, looked incredible in a figure-hugging red satin dress, which boasted a top akin to the conical bra that Madonna famously wore during her 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour. The singer famously took to the stage in the Jean Paul Gaultier satin piece, with the look becoming one of the most iconic in fashion history. Ashley added inches to her frame as she paired her red dress with a pair of black strappy heels. To finish her look, Ashley opted for an elegant updo as she pinned up her luminous locks and opted for a chic middle part. Jamie Lee Curtis, 66, stars alongside L indsay Lohan, 39, in the now-smash hit 2003 comedy, which sees the two characters switch bodies, with hilarity ensuing. Fans had long hoped for a sequel to the iconic comedy but had an agonising wait as Freakier Friday is only now hitting cinemas - a whole 22 years on from the original. And now Jamie Lee has revealed why there was such a long gap between the two releases as she admitted she has long had her eye on a follow-up movie. Appearing on Wednesday's The One Show, Jamie revealed they had to wait until Lindsay was old enough to have a teenage child for the sequel premise to work. 'The truth is that Lindsay had to be old enough to have a 15-year-old daughter, people would ask me about the movie over and over again,' she shared. 'And finally someone in Australia said, ''well she is'' and I was like ''what do you mean?'' because I know her as this young girl so I don't know how old she is. 'So someone told me and I was, like ''Oh! well maybe we can make the movie. Let's go!''' Lindsay was just 15 years old when she first portrayed Anna Coleman in Freaky Friday alongside Jamie Lee, who played her on-screen mother Tess Coleman. To finish her look, Ashley opted for an elegant updo as she pinned up her luminous locks and opted for a chic middle part It follows the bickering mother and daughter after a Chinese restaurant fortune cookie mishap causes them to switch bodies, forcing them to live the other's life. Despite barely having been able to see eye-to-eye, the magical switch eventually allows them to see things from the other's point of view. The sequel will see the iconic pairing switch places once again, though this time there is quadruple chaos in store. Anna (Lindsay) is preparing to tie the knot with to Eric Davies (Manny Jacinto), but things are proving difficult as her teenage daughter Harper (Julia Butters) despises Eric's teenager Lily (Sophia Hammons). Harper highlights her disgust as she's heard reciting mock wedding vows, in which she brands her soon-to-be step-sister 'a little demon thing with an obnoxious accent'. A flash forward to Anna's bachelorette party sees her and mother Tess Coleman sit down with a fortune teller (Vanessa Bayer), who warns them they may learn another lesson by 'walking in each other's paths'. Anna and Tess then find themselves caught up in yet another 'freaky' body swap incident - only this time, it's not just between the two of them. The next morning, Anna discovers she's swapped bodies with daughter Harper, while Tess, aka 'Grandma', is now in the body of Anna's step-daughter Lily. Quadruple chaos then ensues as the foursome try to navigate their new roles with just days to go until the wedding.

Fans joke Granit Xhaka has 'no idea who he's joining' as ex-Arsenal star gives hilariously 'generic' answers in Q&A video after joining Sunderland
Granit Xhaka's shock move to newly promoted Sunderland was followed by an incredibly awkward introductory video. The former Arsenal captain, who spent the last two seasons with Bayer Leverkusen, completed a surprise return to English football with Sunderland, who last season sealed promotion back to the Premier League after eight years away. Xhaka, 32, was unveiled this week in a short Q&A segment posted by the club on social media, but his answers quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons. Asked a series of introductory questions, the Swiss international responded with generic answers, prompting fans to question how much the midfielder really knows about his new club. When asked why he chose Sunderland, Xhaka responded simply: 'A big challenge.' On what the club is well-known for, he replied: 'Great club.' Pressed on who he was most excited to play alongside, he answered: 'Everyone.' His short responses did not stop there. When asked who he could not wait to face, Xhaka again replied with 'Everyone,' followed by one-word answers to further questions. 🤔 I'm excited to play alongside... Finish the sentence with Granit Xhaka! 💬 — Sunderland AFC (@SunderlandAFC) July 30, 2025 Supporters wasted no time in taking to X to poke fun at Xhaka's answers. 'This man has no idea who he's joining,' wrote one fan. Another added: 'He also doesn't know the name of one player there.' A third joked: 'The only thing he knows is they are in the Premier League.' Xhaka, who made almost 300 appearances for Arsenal and has been capped 137 times for Switzerland, is expected to bring leadership and top-flight experience to a Sunderland squad preparing for their first Premier League campaign since 2017. He was part of Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen side that secured the club's first ever Bundesliga title while embarking on an unprecedented 51-game unbeaten run in the 2023-24 season. Sunderland's £17million signing of Xhaka is the latest example of Sunderland's ambition having already splashed out on the likes of Simon Adingra (£21m), Habib Diarra (£30m) and Enzo Le Fee (£20m). The Black Cats have spent over £100m this summer and kick off their Premier League season at home to West Ham on August 16.
