At The Box Office: ‘Materialists'
Swift said that the movie 'comes off as more of a pretty typical romantic comedy' without looking down on the genre. Still, the movie has hidden depth that Swift found enjoyable.
She also highlighted the film's director, Celine Song, who reportedly wrote this film based on her time as a matchmaker in NYC.
Dakota Johnson, who plays the titular matchmaker, 'always plays the same character,' according to Swift. While she would have loved to see a different actor portray that character, she praised Chris Evans and his performance. Pedro Pascal also stars along side them in this movie.
Overall, there is 'so much to enjoy.' Anyone interested can catch 'Materialists' in theatres.

Travis Kelce Posted a Rare Reply to a Taylor Swift Comment That Went Viral
THE RUNDOWN On Thursday, Travis Kelce posted a rare reply to an online comment about his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. The NFL star was apparently watching musical artist Jelly Roll on ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show, where the singer was shouting out his own favorite artists. He suggested Morgan Wallen and Post Malone, before thinking of Swift. But then he couldn't stop gushing. 'She's the GOAT!' Jelly Roll insisted. 'I will fistfight anybody who says otherwise. Travis, don't even worry I got this one. You know what I mean? She's the GOAT.' Kelce commented on McAfee's Instagram post of the moment, writing, 'my dawg is the realest!!' adding some laughing and high-five emojis for emphasis. The comment has already garnered over 3,000 likes as fans seem to agree. Swift and Kelce have been enjoying some downtime together ahead of training camp for his team, the Kansas City Chiefs. The football player had a spring and summer break following the team's loss at the Super Bowl in February. Swift wrapped up her Eras Tour in December. The couple has been spotted in New York City, Florida, and Tennessee during the last few months. A source told People in April, 'They have been traveling nonstop and very much enjoy it. They are making the most of their time off together. They are hanging out with friends, too. It's a special time for them.' The source added that the couple is 'very serious and in sync.' 'They value the same things,' the source said. 'Right now, the focus is very much on private time out of the spotlight.'

Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal in "Materialists." Materialists, a hit romantic comedy starring Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans, is reportedly coming to digital streaming this week. Rated R, Materialists premiered in theaters on June 13. The official logline for the movie reads, 'A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker (Johnson) finds herself torn between the perfect match (Pascal) and her imperfect ex (Evans).' Materialists is written and directed by Song, who was nominated for a Best Original Screenplay Oscar for her 2023 romantic drama Past Lives. According to When to Stream, Materialists is expected to arrive on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, July 22. Celine Song Says Dakota Johnson Was Her Perfect Matchmaker When it came to casting Dakota Johnson as Lucy, the matchmaker in Materialists, Celine Song told Variety prior to the film's release in June that it started with 'how funny Dakota is, which is really important for the character.' 'I feel like Dakota has this shell to protect herself and approaches the world in a professional and beautiful way,' Song told Variety. 'If you push through that shell, inside, there's a very deep soul. I love that she's as delicate as an egg. I just fell in love with her heart, generally speaking, because she cares so much.' Materialists, which is still playing in theaters, has earned $35.7 million domestically and $14.4 million internationally for a worldwide box office gross of $50.1 million. Materialists had a $20 million production budget before prints and advertising, per The Numbers.
