'I cried having £4.5k Turkey teeth fitted - now people say I've ruined my smile'
A woman who cried having her £4,500 Turkey teeth fitted says she 'loves' the results - despite trolls telling her she has ruined her smile.
Tara Omidi said she was left in agony after a routine root canal treatment forced her to get two teeth removed. Left feeling 'insecure' after a UK dentist 'failed' her, the 31-year-old, from Oldham, started looking online for a fix.
Tara soon found a dentist in Turkey with good reviews and a decent price tag. But she said she didn't expect how painful it would be.

The content creator, who has 45,000 followers, doesn't regret her pursuit of a Hollywood smile, but has come under fire from TikTok trolls.
"The teeth I had removed were right at the back of my mouth and caused my remaining teeth to move away from the centre of my face, leaving me feeling very insecure when I spoke," Tara said.
"People would make indirect digs and comments. It would make me so shy and I'd just crumble. I decided I was going to have them all shaved down, realigned and have crowns fitted.
"I researched into the best clinics and paid that extra bit more to make sure I got the result I wanted."
Having heard about 'Turkey teeth' horror stories, Tara said she was 'terrified', but said the urge to fix her smile was stronger. She added: "I felt really insecure. My job is social media and I'm known for being the happy, always laughing person.
"I was terrified about going to Turkey as you always hear the horror stories, but I did my research and asked so many questions beforehand.
"I used WhatsApp to send over pictures of my teeth and went through a consultation online with the clinic. Then I flew over to Turkey within about eight weeks of booking the appointment.
"I was nervous flying out, but knew that I hated how my old teeth made me feel, so I tried to keep that feeling in my head."
Tara added: "I felt I could trust the clinic as they were very thorough with their examinations and X-rays.
"But it was painful, the actual fitting. People do lie about it and make out it is a breeze. I cried having them fitted."
Tara spent four days abroad, which included the procedure, resting in her hotel room and attending a final check-in with the dentist.
She shared a video to TikTok from her hotel room after she had her teeth filed down, which happens before crowns are fitted.
The post has gathered over 330,400 views, 3,500 likes and hundreds of comments.
One person said: "You have ruined your own teeth." Another commented: "I dunno how people can do this."
But despite the doubters, Tara said 'everything has been great' in the months since her procedure. "They throbbed for the first two weeks but everything has been fine since," she added.
"'I love them - they have given me my confidence and smile back. Of course you get trolls online saying horrible things but people think they have the right to say and do nasty things – I couldn't care less.
"I do what makes me happy for me, not for other people."

Ballerina Farm's Hannah and Daniel Neeleman Take Rare Vacation Without 8 Kids for First Time
Ballerina Farm's Hannah and Daniel Neeleman traveled away from their home in Utah for the weekend to attend a cousin's wedding in New York City In a video post recapping their travel day, the parents of eight marveled at how foreign it felt to take a trip without their kids. They stayed at home with their grandmother, as Hannah explained on TikTok The couple has longtime ties to N.Y.C., where Hannah lived while attending Juilliard. On his Instagram Stories, Daniel explained that they also got engaged and welcomed their first son in the cityHannah and Daniel Neeleman ventured east for the weekend, leaving behind their beloved Ballerina Farm and their home full of kids for some mom-and-dad quality time in New York City. On Sunday, June 29, Hannah posted an Instagram Reel documenting their arrival at their airport, where they felt the absence of their eight children. The influencer, 35, sported a butter yellow dress with red buckled shoes while her husband, 36, rocked up to the airport in a cowboy hat for their unfamiliar travel day. "Have we ever traveled just us, without the kids?" Hannah asked while filming herself. "I feel so strange ... Daniel and I are lost but in love." Daniel added to his wife's commentary, remarking with some astonishment, "I don't have a single diaper in my back pocket. Not a single binky." In Hannah's TikTok post of their travel day video, she explained that their kids were home with their grandmother. "It's been a while since we traveled just Daniel and I 😎," she added. "I love this." The rest of the video featured clips of the couple making their way onto the flight and eventually landing in New York, where they attended Daniel's cousin's wedding at St. Patrick's Cathedral. On her Instagram Stories, Hannah posted sweet photos from the event and detailed how she and Daniel "literally danced for 2 hours." Though the Neelemans are settled on their 328-acre farm in Utah, they have major ties to the Big Apple. Hannah trained as a ballerina at Juilliard for four years, hence the dance-inspired name of their shared business. And as Daniel explained on his Instagram Stories, the city backdropped the earliest days of their love story. "Hannah and I fell in love here, got engaged here. We lived our first year as a married couple here. Henry (our oldest) was born here. It always feels like home away from home," he wrote alongside a photo they snapped at the wedding, with the Manhattan skyline behind them. "We now have a [sic] 8 kids and a no matter, we love you NYC." While their children skipped this most recent cross-country trip, Hannah previously told PEOPLE that they regularly bring the whole family along for a visit. In fact, they've celebrated a few Halloweens on Manhattan's Upper West Side, continuing a tradition the mom of eight started while in college. "It's so fun. There's nothing like it," says the social media star. "It's so different here because our kids literally trick-or-treat on their horses. They just jump on their horses and then go down our county road and trick-or-treat." Read the original article on People

Woman Discovers Mom Booked Dream Vacation—but There's a Catch
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A California mom has captured the hearts of TikTok users after her daughter revealed that she booked an entire vacation property just so her dogs could run, swim and play freely. The video, posted by Aria Harms (@ariaroseharms) on June 18, has since gone viral, amassing more than 156,000 views. The clip, captured earlier this month at an Airbnb venue in California's Joshua Tree area, features two Australian shepherds, Roscoe and Bentley, diving into a backyard pool while their owner watches from a chair poolside. Overlaid text on the video reads, "My mom booked a vacation for her dogs." Harms says in the video: "She rented this entire place because it's gated for her dogs to run around and fun and play in a new place." Harms told Newsweek that the venue's "main feature was the pool and gated backyard that had so much land for the dogs to just run around freely," she said. PLAZA HOTEL PIONEER PARK The relationship showcased in the video is more than just a sweet family anecdote. Scientific research has shown that bonds between dogs and their owners can mirror the emotional attachments seen in human relationships. A 2019 study published in Scientific Reports found that "dogs can form relationships of comparable qualities with both humans and other dogs." Additionally, a 2013 study published in PLOS One likened the connection between dogs and their owners to the attachment seen between infants and their caregivers. It said that canines are not only dependent on human care but are also behaviorally wired to engage their owners' caregiving instincts. Those insights were clearly evident in the vacation setup. The dogs, splashing in the pool and roaming the wide, enclosed yard, appear to be experiencing a true retreat—tailored specifically for them. Roscoe and Bentley, aged 5 and 4 respectively, have been with Harms' mom since they were puppies. "She usually only travels if her dogs can come," Harms said. "She literally purchased an RV just to be able to drive them around. She always priorities them over family members. She cooks them meals for breakfast lunch and dinner and bases her whole life around them." A caption shared with the video says: "These dogs are treated better than kings honestly." 'Your Mom Is a Legend' The display of canine devotion resonated widely on TikTok, with users flooding the comments to praise the mom's dedication. One user, @mr_chris, said: "YOUR MOM IS A LEGEND." Another, @msmagyar, posted: "Your mom is my kind of people!" Others shared similar stories, with user @justhelen17 commenting: "I'm like your mom. I book cabins and Airbnbs just for my dogs." TikTok users embraced the idea that pets deserve luxury and freedom. User @Yadira added: "Mama knows they deserve a hot dog summer!!!" Another viewer, @mcarlit, posted: "I will proudly admit my mom has done this." Erin Robinson echoed the sentiment, noting: "i mean we do the same." For some viewers, the clip was aspirational. User @YoMomma456 wrote: "Saving this for when I'm ready to take my dogs on vacation not my kids!!" Valeria said: "I would too!! That's what I live for; to take my dogs on vacation." The One Item You Should Never Put in a TSA Bin—and What to Do Instead
Next time you go through a TSA security checkpoint at the airport, be careful: there's one item you should make sure to not put directly into the bin. Cell phones are at risk of being stolen directly out of TSA security bins if they are left loose. Instead it's recommended that you tuck it away inside one of your bags, preferably in a sealable pocket. This can also apply to other valuables or electronics you might be traveling with through security. Tiffany, a travel expert who posts TikToks under the name from Pittsburgh to more than 24,000 followers, says in a video she shared that one thing she will never do is place her phone in the bin directly. She told a story about a time she did leave her phone out loose, and she was chastised by the TSA agent on duty. 'I did this once and the TSA agent looked at me and said, you don't like your phone?' Tiffany shares. 'He said, this is the fastest way to get it stolen.' She continues, 'Lines can back up and somebody can just swipe it and you're not paying attention until you realize it's too late.' It's wise to make sure your phone and other electronics are tucked safely away, unless the TSA agent specifically asks you to remove the item from your bag. If you do lose your phone or any other important item as you go through security, all hope is not lost. According to the TSA website, nearly 100,000 lost items are recovered every year. 'Passengers are encouraged to place their contact information on the outside of their electronics, such as laptops, in case the item is left behind. TSA will make every effort to reunite passengers with their belongings,' the TSA website states. 'Unclaimed electronics will have its memory removed and destroyed (e.g. laptop hard drive) or be destroyed completely (e.g. items with non-removable memory) to protect personal data after the 30-day holding period.' So follow Tiffany's advice to keep your phone safe. 'I am not putting my phone directly into one of the containers," she said, "It's always going in a zipped pocket in my bag."
