MB: Selangor to mark National Day on Aug 30 with parade, state address outlining 2026 vision
Amirudin said the parade will be held as it has been in previous years.
'The only difference this year is that a special address will be held on Friday, August 29…where I will deliver a message to department heads and community representatives, outlining Selangor's direction leading up to 2026.
'Besides that, it (the address) will present several of the government's plans, including the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) and the Selangor Smart State initiatives,' he said.
He spoke to reporters after launching the state-level Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign in conjunction with the 2025 National Day celebration at Dewan Jubli Perak here today.
During the ceremony, representatives from the state's nine districts and land offices, as well as 12 local authorities, received the Jalur Gemilang.
Selangor State Secretary Datuk Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin and state executive councillors were also present.
Amirudin also launched the Selangor State Governance and Service Delivery Reform Framework (RSTU) and officiated the Selangor Civil Servants Assembly, held physically and online, and attended by over 1,000 state civil servants. — Bernama

The Seremban Member of Parliament also urged everyone to be more mindful when displaying the Jalur Gemilang, emphasising that it represents the national identity and should be flown with pride and a strong sense of patriotism. "We have repeatedly reminded everyone not to take the flag lightly. When it is hoisted, it must be done correctly and with respect. There must be sensitivity in this matter, although mistakes can sometimes occur unintentionally,' he said. "In this case, the school must prepare a report and submit it to the Ministry of Education so that an investigation can determine whether the act was intentional or not,' he told reporters after launching the Seremban Parliamentary-level National Month celebration at Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (SMJK) Chan Wa here today. He was commenting on the recent incident where the Jalur Gemilang was displayed upside down at the premises of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Chung Hua, Port Dickson last Friday. Cambodia and Thailand begin talks in Malaysia amid fragile ceasefire
BANGKOK, Aug 4 — Preliminary talks between Thailand and Cambodia defense officials started today in Malaysia ahead of a key ministerial level meeting on Thursday, as a fragile truce continues to hold a week after the two sides agreed on a ceasefire. The ceasefire, which came after five days of border clashes between Cambodia and Thailand, was reached at a meeting in Malaysia last Monday, with help from the United States and China also observing. The worst fighting between the Southeast Asian neighbours in over a decade included exchanges of artillery fire and jet fighter sorties, claiming at least 43 lives and leaving over 300,000 people displaced on both sides of the border. The ministers of defense of both countries are due to hold a meeting of the General Border Committee to discuss how to maintain the ceasefire, authorities on both sides said. The Thursday meeting will be observed by representatives from the United States, Chinna and Malaysia. Mistrust between the two neighbours has lingered despite the ongoing talks, with the Cambodia defence ministry accusing Thailand in a statement of violating the ceasefire agreement by using excavators and laying barbed wire in a contested border area. Thailand said both sides are maintaining their position without any significant movements. But 'there are reports that the Cambodian side has modified their positions and reinforced their troops in key areas... to replace personnel lost in each area,' said Rear Admiral Surasant Kongsiri, a Thai military spokesperson. Cambodia also demanded that Thailand releases 18 of its captured soldiers as soon as possible.
