Scotland flyhalf Finn Russell will start against at No. 10 in a halves pairing with Jamison Gibson-Park.
Ireland centers Bundee Aki and Garry Ringrose will start in the midfield and Blair Kinghorn will make his first start of the tour at fullback in a back three with Tommy Freeman and James Lowe.
Australia-born Ireland winger Mack Hansen is among the reserves for the game against his old Super Rugby franchise. Joining him on the bench are Englad backrower Henry Pollock and England flyhalf Marcus Smith.
The Brumbies have been the best performing of the Australian Super Rugby clubs, reaching the semifinals last month.

'In 2013 the Brumbies beat the British and Irish Lions in Canberra and this year they were the leading Australian team in Super Rugby, so we are fully aware of the challenge in front of us,' Farrell said. "It will also be a special occasion for Mack Hansen as he returns to his home town and gets the opportunity to play for and represent the Lions against some of his old teammates.'
The Brumbies will be well below full strength, with players involved in the Australian team preparing for the three-test series that starts July 19.
Prop Lington Ieli, flanker Rory Scott, scrumhalf and captain Ryan Lonergan, center David Feliuai and winger Corey Toole will all start after being involved in the Wallabies camp before being released to train with the Brumbies last week.
The Lions are 3-0 since a 28-24 loss to Argentina in a warmup in Dublin before the traveling Down Under for their nine-game tour.

After wins over Western Force in Perth, Queensland Reds in Brisbane and New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney, the Lions will play the Brumbies in Canberra on Wednesday before taking on the combined AUNZ invitational squad on Saturday in their final preparation for the test series.

Luai could become free agent as Tigers captain makes call on release clause
Wests Tigers co-captain Jarome Luai has revealed when he'll make a call on the release clause in his contract, which gives the five-eighth the ability to leave the club at the end of next year. Luai signed a five-year deal worth $6 million, to move from the Penrith Panthers to the Tigers in 2025. Although it later emerged the four-time premiership winner had a clause in his contract that could see him leave at the end if 2026. On Monday, reported that Luai has until April 30 next year to make a call on his playing career at the Tigers, and he told the publication he will make the decision at the end of the season. But if he doesn't decide before November 1, he'll actually become a free agent and can negotiate with rival clubs. Despite Luai's insistence he wants to help rebuild the Tigers under Benji Marshall, question marks remain over whether he will stay if they can't get results. Coach Marshall is facing plenty of pressure to improve their position having stopped their poor run of form on the weekend with a win over the Roosters in round 18. However, uncertainty remains around Luai's future with the possibility the playmaker could become a free agent at the end of next year. This would see him attract lucrative offers from other clubs if he deems his future is elsewhere. And even though Luai has held off any formal decision on his contract, Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson isn't worried about the playmaker. Speaking on NRL 360 on Monday night, Richardson said Luai has shown he wants to be a part of the rebuild at the club. 'He's got a clause next year that if he chooses he can pull out the following year, but he's shown no signs to me (that will be the case). He was there yesterday," Richardson said of Luai supporting his teammates against the Roosters. "He's shown no signs to me about not being the leader we always thought he would be He's been outstanding for us ... and I think he'll be here for the long-term.' While Richardson said the club could try and fast-track the decision with Luai before next year, the CEO said Luai is there for the rebuild. 'I probably could (discuss removing the clauses). I get on well with his manager ... but one thing you've got to remember is you're building a club,' Richardson said. 'Our club was reviewed as 'no-one would want to go there'. We were rubbish and everything else. What you've got to do is build a club where people want to be. Lachie (Galvin) didn't want to be there, that's fine. "If Jarome didn't want to be there because we weren't creating the club we wanted then that's what it is. But I think we're creating a club internally and a club generally that players will want to be at." Having joined as co-captain, Luai has been forced to deal with the Lachlan Galvin saga in his first few months having been dragged into the situation after a controversial social media post about the situation. After starting the season with a 5-4 record and hovering in the top eight, the Tigers lost six games in a row. They bounced back on the weekend with a shock win over a depleted Roosters side, but Luai was not involved having missed the game due to State of Origin selection. Luai will be expected to return at halfback in their game against the Warriors this weekend with the Tigers sitting in 14th. While the Tigers lost Galvin to the Bulldogs and Talyn Da Silva to the Eels already this season, Latu Fainu has shown signs of improvement in his last three games in the halves.

Cameron Smith responds as NRL considers breaking own rules for Wayne Bennett
Cameron Smith says it would be a 'prestigious' honour to be handed the Kangaroos coaching job but he might have to settle for another role, with calls growing louder for Wayne Bennett to get the job. In order for the veteran coach to take charge of the Aussie team, league bosses would have to change a current rule that prevents club coaches from leading the national side. Nine's Michael Chammas revealed on '100% Footy' on Monday night that the ARL Commission will meet on Wednesday to vote on the issue, but claimed it was 'unlikely' they would change the rule. If that's the case, then former Kangaroos captain Smith is a massive chance to succeed Mal Meninga, who stepped down as Australia's mentor after being named inaugural coach of the Perth Bears, who will enter the NRL in 2027. Former NSW coach Brad Fittler was another leading contender but pulled out of the race due to his extensive media commitments with Channel Nine. That leaves Smith and former Maroons and Broncos coach Kevin Walters as the other leading candidates, if Bennett is prevented from taking on the role. And Smith - who played a whopping 56 Tests for Australia and captained the country on numerous occasions - said the appeal of leading the Aussies for this year's end-of-season Ashes series in England would be incredible. "It's huge, isn't it? I grew up watching Ashes tours where Australia would play Great Britain or England," he said. "I never got to play in one, but that's a huge lure to be a part of such a prestigious and historic tour. It hasn't been done for a long, long time - over 20 years - so it would be great to be a part of." Despite being touted as one of the favourites for the job though, Smith says he's yet to be given any clarification from league bosses. "I haven't spoken to anyone about the role as yet. I'm aware that my name has been tossed up as a potential coach," he added. "I do understand though, it's a wonderful opportunity. It's a great privilege to be able to be the coach of our national side, the Kangaroos. I was lucky enough to play for that team many, many times, so it would be a great privilege." If Bennett is allowed to take the role, there have been suggestions that Smith could work as an assistant to the master coach for the Ashes, before eventually taking over ahead of next year's Rugby League World Cup. "I haven't put too much thought into it. As it stands right now, the rules are that club coaches can't be involved," Smith said. "But I'm hearing that they might be discussing that and maybe altering their thoughts on that, which is entirely up to the game and the executives in charge. If that happens, that's great. Wayne Bennett's a wonderful coach. He's probably one of the greatest coaches to ever coach in our game, so if he ends up being the Kangaroos coach, they'll be in good hands." RELATED: Startling news about who would replace Cameron Munster in Origin 3 Roosters lose another star to Bulldogs as Phil Gould shake-up continues Queensland Origin star spills secret about Johnathan Thurston Bulldogs supremo and veteran NRL commentator Phil Gould is among those who believes Bennett is perfect for the Kangaroos head coaching role, and doesn't understand the logic behind the current rule that prevents him from doing so. "I can't see why not. I really can't see why not," he said on 100% Footy. "I don't know why it changed back in the old days, they're the best coaches, they're the ones with the best jobs, they're the ones equipped to do it so I can't see why they wouldn't allow it." Last week, veteran journalist Phil Rothfield predicted NRL bosses would break its own rules and allow Bennett to lead the Kangaroos in more of a 'caretaker' role for the Ashes. According to Rothfield, a full-time coach without ties to an NRL club will be appointed after that.

Roosters lose another player to Bulldogs as Phil Gould continues signing raid
Phil Gould and the Bulldogs have reportedly signed another member of the Roosters' premiership-winning SG Ball Cup team, with young outside back Baxter Warner leaving the Bondi club for Belmore. The Roosters won the Under-19 competition earlier this year, but their success has seen a number of rival clubs take interest in their crop of young talent. Cohen Dittmann and Tyson Walker (the younger brother of Roosters star Sam Walker) have been poached by the Cowboys, while Phillip Lavakeiaho has signed with the Sea Eagles. And the that Warner has now joined Mikey Nassar in signing with the Bulldogs. Gould has been working on signing as many talented young players as he can, putting together an impressive pathways system at the Bulldogs. Warner played centre in the Roosters' SG Ball Cup team that won the premiership this year, but can also play fullback and wing. He was selected in the Under-16s NSW City team in 2022, and recently made his debut in the Jersey Flegg (Under-21) competition. Warner is the nephew of Jack Elsegood, who played 72 first-grade games for Manly and 77 for the Roosters. But he's now departed his uncle's former club to link up with Nassar and Gould at the Bulldogs. Nassar previously played Harold Matthews Cup (Under-17s) for the Wests Tigers, before switching to the Roosters and starring in the SG Ball Cup grand final. He played fullback for the Roosters' Under-19 team, but can also play anywhere in the back-line. He's been featuring on the wing in the Bulldogs' system in Ron Massey Cup since making the club switch recently. RELATED: Startling news about who would replace Cameron Munster in Origin 3 Queensland Origin star spills secret about Johnathan Thurston The signings of Nassar and Warner continues somewhat of a raid from Gould on his former club. The 67-year-old coached the Roosters from 1995 to 1999, and is now the general manager of football at the Bulldogs. Since taking on the role at the Bulldogs, he's signed a number of former Roosters players in Sitili Tupouniua, Daniel Suluka-Fifita and Drew Hutchison. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have been urged to make a brutal call on one of Lachie Galvin or Toby Sexton to solve their worrying dip in form. Cameron Ciraldo's side have lost their last two games to slip from first to third on the NRL ladder, and the rotation of Sexton, Galvin and Reed Mahoney doesn't appear to be working. Galvin has been coming off the bench and replacing Sexton in the halves, who switches to hooker when Mahoney goes off. Last week against the Broncos, Ciraldo even shifted Matt Burton to centre to use Galvin and Sexton in the halves. But after back-to-back losses, former Bulldogs player Michael Ennis believes the coach needs to change the plan. According to Ennis, the Dogs might be better off keeping Galvin in reserve grade until next year when Sexton moves to France. 'What they do with Galvin, he's either on the bench or playing in reserve grade … that's the decision they have to make at the moment," Ennis said last weekend. "Ideally, Galvin comes in the pre-season and they get a full pre-season to develop him. That's not the case, he's walked into a side that's leading the competition with Sexton and Burton in great form as the halves pairing. 'Reed Mahoney and Bailey Haywood compliment each other around the ruck. That spine is so stable, the game plan they look to execute, they execute it.' However Andrew Johns and Cameron Smith believe Sexton might be the man axed and forced to play NSW Cup. Sexton has been brilliant this season and led the Bulldogs to the top of the ladder at the halfway point, but has effectively been forced out by the mid-season signing of Galvin from the Wests Tigers.
