When will SSI, Social Security benefits be paid? See August payment schedule
SSI, which the Social Security Administration manages, provides monthly funds to qualifying people whose income and resources (such as vehicles or money in their bank accounts) are limited, according to the SSA.
Payments for August are set for Friday, Aug. 1.
But due to how the payment schedule works, another SSI payment is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 29. This payment is for September, so SSI recipients shouldn't expect to see a SSI payment during the actual month of September, as they'll be receiving it later this month.
Social Security benefits will be paid on four dates in August.
Here's more on the payment schedules and what recipients should know.
Social Security overpayment: Why your check may be smaller
Those who were previously overpaid by the Social Security Administration may get smaller benefit checks.
An overpayment can happen when a beneficiary fails to update a change in income, for instance, and as a result Social Security overpays them. Or the SSA can incorrectly calculate a person's benefits.
The Social Security Administration said in April it would begin sending notices to recipients who got overpayments in the past. After sending out overpayment notices, the SSA would allow 90 days for recipients to seek a waiver or lower repayment rate. Then, the agency would begin withholding 50% of recipients' benefits until the overpayment is repaid (after approximately July 24, at the earliest).
When are the SSI payments for August? See the SSI calendar 2025
Supplemental Security Income checks will be sent out on the following dates in 2025, according to the SSA calendar.
Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 (Check for January 2026)
Friday, Aug. 1, 2025 (Check for August 2025)
Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 (Check for September 2025)
Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025 (Check for October 2025)
Friday, Oct. 31, 2025 (Check for November 2025)
Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 (Check for December 2025)
Notice that SSI recipients will receive two checks in the same month in August, October, and December due to how the payment schedule falls.
When do I get my Social Security? See August SSA payment schedule
Social Security benefits are paid on four dates in August, mainly corresponding to recipients' birthdays.
Here are those payment dates, according to SSA's calendar:
Aug. 1: Recipients who received Social Security before May 1997 or receive both Social Security and SSI
Aug. 13: Recipients whose birth date falls between the 1st and 10th
Aug. 20: Recipients whose birth date falls between the 11th and 20th
Aug. 27: Recipients whose birth date falls between the 21st and 31st
How many people in Washington state receive SSI payments, Social Security?
About 135,000 Washingtonians received SSI payments in June 2025, according to the Social Security Administration. About 115,000 recipients were in the blind and disabled category.
There were about 1.5 million Social Security beneficiaries in Washington state in December 2024, according to the agency's statistics.

The Sydney Sweeney Ad Did The Impossible — It Got People Talking About Advertising Again.
Outside of what has become an annual American tradition of reviewing Super Bowl commercials, it has been years since I've heard or been sent so many reviews, opinions, and hot takes on a :15 or :30 second commercial spot. Until now. Last week, American Eagle came in hot with a series of ads featuring one of America's most popular rising stars. Actress Sydney Sweeney, 27, launched her new collaboration with the retailer, titled 'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans'. And it did not disappoint (or perhaps it did, depending on who you ask) From the South China Morning Post to the Daily Mail, and Vanity Fair to NPR - outlets across time zones, age brackets and industry verticles are chiming in on their thoughts and perspectives and symbolism of the ad. On social media, the ad is the talk of TikTok, X, and Instagram with influencers and everyday people eager to record videos to share their opinion, all while replaying the ad for their users to see, of course. Even the President commented! What's all the talk about? The pun/double entendre of language between genes and jeans, the intersection of visual identity and sex appeal, and the pretty privilege of "traditional" beauty. Quite simply, this ad has unlocked America's culture war about looks, influence, and eugenics? American Eagle Is An Unlikley Catalyst American Eagle Outfitters, while a longstanding international retail brand and manufacturer, is an unlikely catalyst for this moment. But what their story tells you is that GREAT ADVERTISING is effective when done correctly. In recent years, advertising has been an industry under siege by both clients, who hire out the creative agencies that make the work, and by consumers who have multiple ways they can avoid watching ads. Recent trends are continuing to accelerate this. Last month's Omnicom's much anticipated $13.5 billion acquisition of rival Interpublic was approved by the FTC, creating the world's largest advertising agency. In the U.S., the firm would become the largest media buying ad agency as well. The new Omnicom will have over 100,000 expert practitioners with the combined entity forecast to yield $750 million in annual cost savings, highlighting the ongoing drive toward consolidation on Madison Ave. Some argue that this consolidation hurts creativity due to the red tape and corporate-leaning culture. It's not to imply advertisements aren't all around us. The average person sees hundreds of ads every day, but the reality is that due to the squeeze from both sides, the creative product is not as memorable as it could be. When asking people if they can recall the ads that they see, the response is only between 1%-10%. From AI, to ad-free streaming to 'skip now', advertising has seemed to become "in the way" of what we are trying to consume vs enhancing the experience of the time we are forced to commit. And as algorithms become more powerful in serving custom ads, it's become more complex and harder for brands and audiences to be able to recall advertising as they once were immediately. Gone are the days of 'Yo Quiero Taco Bell', 'The Geico Caveman', 'Mac vs PC', or 'Spuds McKenzie' Opposing Voices Don't Hold as Much Weight As the dust settles, American Eagle has stood by their ad campaign despite the criticism and controversy. Saying in a recent Instagram post, they shared their ad campaign "is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone." The 'Sydney' jeans which the commercial was advertising, have completely sold out, and the stock price is at its highest point in nearly 6 months ($13.39 at the time of writing), showing that a great ad holds value for companies. Beyond that, the brand is now in minds and lips of millions across the world. Could this American Eagle campaign be the tipping point to inspire a new era of creativity? And could the formula of painting the line on social issues surrounding privilege and race be the new formula? I believe the answer is yes, and I for one am looking forward to actually watching them - regardless of what side of the debate I'm on.

5 ChatGPT Prompts To Help Drive More Traffic To Your Website
By Richard D. Harroch and Dominique A. Harroch Getting more traffic to your website is one of the most important objectives for any business, startup, or entrepreneur. Website traffic means more visibility, more potential customers, and more opportunities to convert visits into revenue. But with so many competitors and constant changes in search engine optimization (SEO), content trends, and digital marketing tactics, attracting consistent traffic can feel overwhelming. This is where ChatGPT can be helpful. Whether you're a solo entrepreneur or a marketing team leader, OpenAI's powerful AI assistant can help you brainstorm, plan, write, and optimize your website content and strategy in ways that drive traffic. With the right prompts, ChatGPT can become a virtual assistant that can research your market, suggest improvements, and generate drafts of the kind of content your audience (and Google) loves. In this article, we'll share five high-impact ChatGPT prompts—along with sample variations—to help you grow your site's traffic. These prompts are practical, easy to implement, and designed to give you ideas and tools you can use right away. Naturally, we used ChatGPT for insights and research assistance for this article. 1. Identify High-Impact Keywords and SEO Topics SEO remains one of the most effective ways to attract organic traffic. But it starts with targeting the right keywords—phrases your potential visitors are searching for. ChatGPT can help you discover keyword ideas, group them into topics, and even suggest related questions that people ask. Example Prompt: 'I run a website that sells natural skincare products. Suggest 15 high-volume, low-competition SEO keywords I could target, and organize them into five blog post topic clusters.' Additional Sample Prompts: 2. Write Blog Posts That Rank and Convert Once you've identified strong SEO topics, ChatGPT can help you outline and write blog content that's both optimized for search engines and valuable to readers. From headlines and intros to structure and calls to action, you can co-create content that performs well and supports your broader marketing goals. Example Prompt: 'Write an outline and 500-word introduction for a blog post titled '10 Reasons to Switch to Natural Skincare Products.' Make it engaging, informative, and optimized for SEO.' Additional Sample Prompts: 3. Improve On-Page SEO and User Engagement Optimizing on-page elements like meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, and internal links can make a major difference in how search engines rank your content—and how users engage with it. ChatGPT can help fine-tune these details so your pages are more visible and inviting. Example Prompt: 'Here's the first paragraph of a blog post about productivity apps. Can you improve it for readability and SEO, and suggest a meta description, slug, and alt text for the main image?' Additional Sample Prompts: 4. Repurpose Content Across Channels Publishing a blog post is just the beginning. Smart marketers extend the value of their content by repurposing it into other formats—social media posts, email newsletters, video scripts, and more. ChatGPT can help you do this efficiently while maintaining a consistent message and brand voice. Example Prompt: 'I wrote a blog post titled 'How to Start a Consulting Business' found at [ Can you turn this into a five-part email series and three LinkedIn posts?' Additional Sample Prompts: 5. Analyze and Improve Underperforming Pages Sometimes your existing content isn't driving traffic—but that doesn't mean it's a lost cause. ChatGPT can help you review underperforming pages and suggest ways to refresh, optimize, or reposition them for better performance. This includes updating content, fixing SEO issues, or refining the angle to match current trends. Example Prompt: 'I have a blog post titled 'Best Productivity Tools for 2021' that used to get traffic but doesn't anymore. Can you help me rewrite and re-optimize it for current trends?' San Francisco contractors learning new skills as city moves toward net-zero emissions
The San Francisco Environment Department is trying to incentivize homeowners to make the switch, even offering free installs for qualifying residents. But the transition also requires manpower, and that requires contractors to learn new skills. "With anything, there is a little learning curve," Randy Williamson said. Williamson recently attended one of the city's trainings and seminars to help get contractors up to speed on the newer, greener appliances. The latest one was fully booked with around 80 people in attendance. Environment Director Tyrone Jue said interest continues to grow. "The future is coming. We're going electric. We need all of our contractors ready for this amazing amount of work that is going to happen during this transition," Jue said. San Francisco is 48% of the way towards its goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2040, per Jue. Almost half of the city's emissions come from buildings utilizing gas appliances. Jue said phasing in heat pump water heaters will help make a difference in the big picture and for individual consumers. "You get the safety, the reliability, the health impacts, and the economic impacts. This is what we want to educate everyone about – from the public to our contractors to our own city leadership," Jue said. "We have to make this more accessible to people, in terms of incentives. We need to grow these incentive pots to encourage more electrification. And, we also need to make sure that we reach out to communities that may not have the resources to do it. So, we want to make sure we're looking at this from an equity standpoint and also just a general transition standpoint." Williamson has installed seven so far and has three more on the books in the near future. "There are definitely not enough installers. That would be a great boost to help get this done," he said. He said there is a unique opportunity right now for a new avenue of work that's worth exploring, from both a business and a personal standpoint. "It's good for the community, good for the environment, good for the consumer, and good for the planet," he said. Eligibility requirements remain the same for the free heat pump water heater program, and residents can sign up at
