‘Rye Lane' Director Raine Allen-Miller Plotting London Heist Comedy ‘The Roots Manoeuvre' With Amazon MGM's Orion Pictures, Plan B (EXCLUSIVE)
Entitled 'The Roots Manœuvre,' the project will see Allen-Miller keep the action in London like 'Rye Lane' but this time move from rom-com to heist comedy. The film has already been boarded by Amazon MGM Studios' Orion Pictures, with a theatrical release planned. Producers include Plan B's Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner as well as Damian Jones of DJ Films, and the feature will be produced in association with BBC Film with Eva Yates as an executive producer. Both Jones and BBC Film backed 'Rye Lane.'

From a script by Allen-Miller, 'The Roots Manœuvre' follows a young woman who orchestrates a daring heist to recover a stolen artifact, covering her tracks by managing the whirlwind of a luxury wedding.
Set and shot in South London and backed by BBC Film and the BFI, 'Rye Lane' first bowed in Sundance in 2023 before being released by Searchlight in the U.K. and on Hulu in the U.S. Alongside landing critical praise for giving the rom-com genre a whip-smart and and unpretentiously charming update, the film went on to earn 16 nominations at the British Independent Film Awards (winning two awards) and two BAFTA nominations, including outstanding British film and best actress nomination for its co-lead star Vivian Oparah.
After making his big screen debut in 'Rye Lane,' the film's other co-lead David Jonsson has become a hugely in-demand talent, winning plaudits for 'Alien: Romulus' and landing roles in both Frank Ocean's directorial debut and Colman Domingo's upcoming 'Love Affair,' in which he'll play Sammy Davis Jr. alongside Sydney Sweeney as Kim Novak. Jonsson recently won the BAFTA Rising Star award.

Reactivating their perennial collaborations,Junya Watanabe MANandReigning Champhave released a special set reprising details from the Japanese designer's Spring Summer 2025 show in Paris last year. Honing in on Watanabe's affinity for deconstruction, the set centers on the tartan patches that the designer threaded through the collection. The hoodie and pants are made from Reigning Champ's Midweight Terry, an ideal cotton fabric for the hot and humid summer months, while also offering comfort in transitional seasons. Unlike the casualwear label's typical sizing, the special capsule is comes in Junya Watanabe's Japanese sizing system. Overlapping patches feature various check patterns from black and red flannel check to more traditional tartans reminiscent of vintage British textiles. Elsewhere, the prints are contrasted with color-blocked panels, including a red corduroy patch and frayed black denim patch. While the standard fit hoodie focuses the appliques on the torso, the relaxed fit pants concentrate the patches at the knees. Abstract black stitching over some of the patches recalls the Japanese mending tradition of sashiko, a visible repair method that embraces the character of stitched mends. Many of the fine details that appear in the capsule were turned up to 100 in the original collection, including completely patchworked tailoring and hybrid denim jackets. For all the perks that come with being a celebrity, there's no denying that it's known to cause some friction with your nearest and dearest — AKA your perhaps not-quite-as-famous family. Where there's money, power, and influence, there's bound to be drama, and celebrity families like the Hogans, the Osbournes, the Trumps, Jacksons, and even the British royal family have all fallen prey to infighting from time to time. The nature of these feuds varies wildly, be it a one-time thrashing in an elevator or years of targeted attacks through, say, publishing a series of pointed tell-alls (a well-worn practice when fighting with famous loved ones). For these families, the difference is the fighting itself (sometimes physical) that's played out in the public eye. However, these families go on to resolve or not resolve the aftermath of these issues, there are some famous fights the public just won't ever forget. Kelly & Aimee Osbourne Kelly Osbourne and her elusive older sister Aimee Osbourne have no contact, the TV host revealed in 2021. 'We don't talk,' Kelly said during an appearance on Dax Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert, 'We're just really different. She doesn't understand me and I don't understand her.' Aimee, who is the oldest of Sharon and late rocker Ozzy Osbourne's three children together, lives a starkly different life than her family and famously moved out of home at 16 to avoid appearing on their reality TV show. In 2012, siblings Jermaine, Janet, Tito, Rebbie, and Randy released a joint letter accusing the executors of their late brother's estate of having falsified either the documents, circumstances of his death, or mother's willingness to go along with the plan. The following week, when Katherine mysteriously disappeared for eight days, they requested an emergency custody hearing that granted TJ Jackson, Michael's nephew, temporary custody of Michael's children, which Katherine publicly rebuked days later. Kim accused Kourtney of being 'the least interesting to look at' while Kourtney called the whole family 'disgusting' and come early 2020, the two were seen physically attacking each other in the latest season. Yikes! Things between the two are still rocky but the pair are still supportive of one another… most of the time. Candy & Tori Spelling When Tori Spelling's father Aaron passed away in 2006, it was reportedly a dispute over his will that first drove her and mom Candy apart. But Tori's reality show and Candy's memoir in the years that followed — both of which were highly critical of the other — certainly stoked the flames. Candy went on to post a public letter accusing her daughter of shutting her out, and Tori went on The View to decline her mother's request to reconcile. These days, they're apparently on better terms.
