Singapore gets first dibs on Mensho X – the fast-casual offshoot of cult ramen brand Mensho Tokyo – and its very first bowl is being served up at Six Battery Road. Helmed by ramen maestro Chef Tomoharu Shono, the new 46-seater reimagines the ramen experience for the modern city dweller: quick, soulful, and bursting with flavour. Try this For something different, try the Mochi Mochi Mazemen – a dry-style bowl of thick, chewy noodles dressed in a savoury seasoning blend, and served with a side of vegetable broth. It's topped with that same tender pork chashu, plus mushrooms, lard, and nori.
Time Out tip: Enjoy a complimentary first serving of kaedama (extra noodles) with every ramen or tsukemen order – mazemen dishes not included.

Expert names vital holiday items Brits always pack wrong when going abroad
Markus Lindblad sheds light on common travel mistakes that cause delays and trouble from Brits at airport security - advising what items are permissible and which should be left at home You may consider yourself well-versed in baggage restrictions, but many Brits still make avoidable packing mistakes. These small but glaring mistakes can lead to longer airport security queues and - at worst - can lead would-be travellers from flying altogether. Markus Lindblad from the tobacco-free nicotine product company, Northerner, has broken down the most common packing mistakes Brits are making in 2025 - including how they travel with vapes. Knowing these rules before you travel might save you time and trouble on your next journey. Travelling with vapes Markus' first flag is about carrying vapes on aeroplanes. While you are permitted to carry vapes onto a plane, they must be stored in your carry-on luggage, not your checked baggage. Additionally, passengers are not permitted to use the vape while on an aeroplane. Vaping or smoking on a flight is illegal and could see you facing hefty fines and flight restrictions. Some fines can even reach up to £5000. For those likely to crave nicotine mid-flight, Markus recommends carrying nicotine pouches. They are allowed both in carry-on and checked luggage and can be used safely on planes. Nicotine pouches are regulated in some countries however, so always make sure you dispose of them when you land if you're unsure of the local laws. Bringing disposable vapes back into the UK is a slightly different story. While the sale of disposable vapes is banned in the UK, they are still perfectly legal in many countries, so Brits can purchase these devices while abroad. Entering the UK with a disposable vape is only an offence if you intend to sell it, so as long as it's for personal use, then you're not breaking any laws according to Markus. If you're not returning to the UK and carrying disposable vapes elsewhere, check the banned items list for each country before re-packing your luggage, as some other countries have banned vapes. Travelling with portable chargers A global shift across worldwide airlines has seen rules tightened over the carrying of power banks onto flights. Early in 2025, an incident that left three people injured on a major Asian airline led to a crackdown of portable power banks in checked baggage. After an Air Busan plane caught fire at Gimhae International Airport on January 28, the airline announced it would be enforcing stricter regulations around power banks. According to Markus, the lithium-ion batteries commonly found inside power banks pose a fire risk to aircraft and confined cabin spaces if damaged. Most airlines allow portable chargers packed in your carry-on luggage, but not in checked luggage. Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways also prohibit the use of power banks to charge personal devices during a flight. Check the specific guidelines surrounding power banks before packing. 100ml liquid limit While some UK airports including Gatwick, Birmingham and Newcastle no longer require passengers to remove liquids at security, the 100ml limit still applies. That said, medications and baby food are exempt from this 100ml restriction. UK restrictions v foreign restrictions Different countries may have completely different travel rules, which affects how you should pack. For example, Dubai has introduced new rules on medication, only allowing items in checked baggage. Whereas Mexico has a total ban on vapes, making packing them in your luggage illegal. While the UK rules may be different, you do not want to get into trouble when you arrive at your holiday destination. Speak to a staff member at the airport check-in desk and seek their advice on what is and is not permissible.

Celtic fans spot superstar holding their shirt in Como but it's not quite what they wanted as transfer clock ticks down
Expectant Celtic fans finally got to see a big star holding up a Hoops jersey. It just wasn't quite what they wanted though. Becky Hill – who is a famous singer, apparently – was in Como on Friday night as the Italian club hosted a swanky gala as part of their tournament this week and got a pic with a shirt. The town has sunk serious money into the tourist industry in these parts, which seems like a bit of a waste of dosh given the place is absolutely rammed to the gunnels with holidaymakers. Either way, Becky was on board, but Hoops fans are hoping to see a few more pictures with actual players clutching a jersey rather than pop stars. The clock is ticking and the pressure is on. Punters have a couple of dates on their minds – this week's Premiership kick-off and transfer deadline day. But it's another date that is the really important one for Celtic. Parkhead chiefs need to have their squad lists submitted for the Champions League play-off round by midnight on August 14, with the first leg of the tie just a week later. There's scope to chuck two more in after that point but by that stage you would be looking at lobbing a new man right into the thick of a crucial qualifier. It's hardly ideal. Listen, Celtic know all this. There is a frustration at some of the roadblocks being hit, with clubs playing hardball and agents being sneaky so-and-sos. Deals get close then go cold, all parties hold out as long as they can for more dosh and the plates keep spinning while supporters lose patience. It's been a familiar tale for Celts in recent years but they are going to have to ramp things up – and it has to be soon. In previous windows, the club has managed to do some solid late business. Everyone goes on about how Ange Postecoglou brought in a raft of new recruits nice and early, but they forget some of his marquee arrivals didn't check in until after they'd been papped out of the Champions League by Midtjylland. Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers were deadline day signings, while last year they waiting until the end of the window to get Arne Engels, Auston Trusty and Luke McCowan. It all felt a bit rushed by that point and Brenda Rodgers admitted he didn't want a repeat. Unfortunately the January window was an even bigger faff with Kyogo exiting and no replacement tied down. To be still waiting for the Japanese striker's locker to be filled eight months later does seem a tad silly, regardless of how tough it is out there. But this August 14 date is going to be an interesting line in the sand – and it will show punters how serious the club is about getting to the Champions League group stages again. Celtic are not a club that likes to gamble. They certainly haven't build up an impressive financial structure but taking wild punts. Yet they are going to have to if they want to give themselves the best possible chance of mixing it with the big boys. That's where they constantly tell folk they belong. It's about actions rather than words though. The draw for this play-off will be made on Monday so Celtic will know what kind of challenge they face. There will be some dangerous sides lurking around in there and right now the Hoops squad is perilously fragile. It will help having Carter-Vickers and Alastair Johnston back on board but everyone can see where the problems lie. Rodgers will probably get a striker and at least one winger, possibly even two wide men. But that's not building or progressing, it's just getting back to where they were at the turn of the year. Celtic have stockpiled plenty of cash and they have an elite manager in the dugout – for this season at least. Not letting him loose with a bumper budget is like having a Ferrari but never taking it out the garage. Rodgers came back because he had unfinished business in the Champions League. And if he's not given the tools to get there then no one could blame him for driving off into the sunset next May.
