Kichcha Sudeep announces K47: I feel the need to bring out a film this year
The film marks Sudeep's second collaboration with Vijay Kartikeyan, who made his Kannada debut with the action thriller 'Max'. While there was speculation that 'K47' would be a follow-up to that film, Sudeep was quick to clarify that it is a standalone story. 'After a film like 'Max' succeeds, there's always the urge to create a franchise. But 'K47' features a completely different character and tone. It's definitely not 'Max 2'. We didn't want to force that connection.'
Vijay Kartikeya's X post about Kichcha Sudeep and the start of K47 shoots
Sudeep also addressed rumours that filmmaker Cheran was supposed to direct the project. While confirming early discussions, he said the collaboration didn't move forward. 'Cheran is a wonderful storyteller, and I truly admire his work. We did collaborate, but the story just didn't align with where I am or the uncertainty of the Kannada industry. It didn't feel like a story for today's times. Can I attempt something like 'My Autograph' now? Honestly, I feel it would be too complicated for today's landscape.'Ajaneesh Loknath will compose the music for the film. Veteran producer TG Thyagarajan, who last produced a Kannada film in 1986 called 'Sathya Jyothi', starring Dr Vishnuvardhan, is making his return to the industry with this project. 'Sudeep is one of my favourite actors, and we're thrilled to return with 'K47',' he said. He also revealed that past efforts to collaborate with Shivarajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar didn't materialise.Addressing criticism around working with non-Kannada banners, Sudeep was candid. 'Why would I distance myself from Kannada producers? That's not true at all. Instead of asking me, ask why the big production houses here aren't approaching with stories. Whoever brings a good story, I'll hold their hand,' said the 'Eega' actor. With his renewed commitment to 'Bigg Boss Kannada', shoots of the ambitious 'Billa Ranga Baasha' underway, and the newly announced 'K47' project, fans can expect a packed schedule from the star for the rest of the year.- Ends

Coolie USA Premiere Advance Bookings: Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj's film sets fire at the box office; Rakes up near USD 150k with 22 days to go
Superstar Rajinikanth is back, this time with blockbuster director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film's advance bookings in USA opened less than a day back and the bookings stand at close to USD 150k for the premieres, 22 days out. These are ginormous numbers for a film that's over 3 weeks away. Coolie Has Already Grossed Around USD 150k At The Time Of This Article What's more crazy is that except for 3 songs, a title teaser and a few solo posters, nothing about Coolie is out. The biggest unit of the film, that is the trailer, shall be out on the 2nd of August as confirmed by the director. The total ticket sales stand at around 5,000, with a per screen average of 20 tickets. The tickets are being sold at a blistering pace and that shall not stop. The response for the Tamil language is the best, followed by Telugu, which is equally great given that it's one of the film's dubbed versions. A USD 2 million premiere gross is not being discounted at this point. Hype Of Coolie Is As High As Kabali This kind of hype for a Rajinikanth film was last seen during Kabali. Yes, Rajinikanth has had bigger lifetime grossers like 2.0 and Jailer after that, but the hype of Coolie is similar to Kabali. Now, what's really required is for the content to land well with the diaspora audience. War 2 And Coolie Lock Themselves In An Intense Battle Coolie has a direct clash with War 2. The things are getting tight as the release draws nearer. This is by far the biggest box office clash in recent memory. The stakes involved are massive and a Rs 1,500 crore global gross is in play, in between both these films, if the content strikes a chord. War 2's advance bookings in USA are expected to open shortly and the pre-release tension will be worth observing. It has been a battlefield on social media, right from when Sun Pictures announced their film to release on 14th August, confirming a direct clash with War 2. It got even more tense when War 2 got IMAX exclusivity. Coolie In Theatres On 14th August, 2025 Coolie hits theatres on 14th August. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more box office updates.

Siddhant Chaturvedi Grooves To Preet Re Ahead Of Dhadak 2's Release
Dhadak 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak and a remake of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. Following the soul-stirring first song, Bas Ek Dhadak, Dhadak 2 makers released their second track, Preet Re. The song, which features Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, steers away from spectacle and instead focuses on the simplicity of young love. Ahead of the film's theatrical release, Siddhant Chaturvedi entertained fans with a dance video with the latest song, Preet Re. While fans were also in love with the melodious tune, the actor has now got them grooving. In the clip, Siddhant Chaturvedi is seen dancing effortlessly to the beats of the song and in the caption, he wrote, '#PreetRe- here's me Grooving to one of my favourite tracks from the #Dhadak2 with my boys Neeraj Yadav Neeraj Lama. Darshan Raval. Rochak Kohli and Jonita are bringing absolute magic to our ears!" The actor was seen in a casual pink tee with white trousers. Preet Re gives the audience a glimpse into the early phases of romance between Siddhant and Triptii's characters in Dhadak 2. In the music video, Siddhant and Triptii appear to be college students who gradually fall in love. The song video depicts daily love encounters in a joyful and light-hearted manner, mirroring relatable feelings of affection and new romance. Dhadak 2, produced by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures, is a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak and a remake of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal, follows the love story of Nilesh (Siddhant Chaturvedi) and Vidhi (Tripitii Dimri). However, their love is put to the test as a series of mishaps threatens to separate them. Speaking about his role in the film during the trailer launch, Siddhant said, 'As an actor, I feel truly fortunate that Karan sir had faith in me and chose me to portray a small-town character. Until now, most of the films I've done have been urban-centric, and since I come from a small town, Ballia, I was missing that kind of small-town story." The film delves into themes of caste inequality, societal limitations, and prejudice. Dhadak 2 is set to hit theatres on August 1, 2025, competing with Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2.
