Huda Beauty founder Huda Kattan's anti-Israel conspiracy theory video removed by TikTok

7NEWS13 hours ago
TikTok has removed an inflammatory anti- Israel video posted by celebrity beauty mogul and influencer Huda Kattan.
Kattan, the founder and face of the billion-dollar brand Huda Beauty, shared a video to her more than 11 million followers on TikTok, accusing Israel of orchestrating World War I, World War II, the September 11 terrorist attacks and Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7.
World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945) both occurred before the State of Israel was established in 1948.
'All of the conspiracy theories coming out and a lot of evidence behind them — that Israel has been behind World War I, World War II, September 11, October 7 — they allowed all of this stuff to happen. Is this crazy?' Kattan said on camera in her since-removed TikTok post, which included other unfounded claims about Israel. 'Like, I had a feeling — I was like, 'Are they behind every world war?' Yes.'
A representative for TikTok confirmed Kattan's video was removed for violating community guidelines.
'In a global community, it is natural for people to have different opinions, but we seek to operate on a shared set of facts and reality,' TikTok's community guidelines state.
'We do not allow misinformation that may cause significant harm to individuals or society, regardless of intent.'
Kattan's agency did not respond to a request for comment. A manager listed on public databases as a representative for Kattan was contacted and said in an email that they no longer represent her.
Calls for Sephora to ban Huda Beauty products
Kattan's video has spurred calls across social media and among Jewish groups for retailers like Sephora to cut ties with her popular beauty brand, Huda Beauty, which was valued at $US1.2 billion ($A1.8 billion) in 2017 and brings in roughly $US200 million ($A308 million) in annual sales, according to Forbes.
A representative for Sephora has not responded to a request for comment.
This is not the first time the beauty influencer has faced calls for boycotts due to her public commentary after October 7. Kattan, whose company has over 57 million followers on Instagram, has been an outspoken critic of Israel and a staunch supporter of Palestinians in Gaza.
Within a week of Hamas attacking Israel on October 7, 2023, an Israeli Instagram user threatened to boycott her products, to which Kattan replied: 'I don't want blood money.'
In response to that comment, a Change.org petition was launched and received over 30,000 signatures, calling on Sephora to remove Huda Beauty products from its stores.
Kattan's most recent TikTok video drew swift backlash from Jewish groups.
'Huda Kattan built a brand around beauty — but these antisemitic conspiracy theories are nothing short of ugly hate,' CEO of the Anti-Defamation League Jonathan Greenblatt said.
'Spreading vile myths about Jews to millions of followers isn't just reckless — it's dangerous.'
The American Jewish Committee posted Kattan's since-removed TikTok video on social media, writing, 'Huda Kattan, founder of Huda Beauty, is using her massive platform to spread vile antisemitic conspiracy theories — accusing Jews of harvesting the organs of Palestinians, causing 9/11, and running global paedophile rings. This isn't 'criticism of Israel'. It's centuries-old hate, repackaged and broadcast to millions.'
'Retailers have a choice,' managing director of the Jewish nonprofit JLens Ari Hoffnung said.
'They can continue to platform a brand whose founder promotes hate-fuelled conspiracy theories, or they can take a stand against antisemitism.'
Forbes included Kattan on their 2023 list of America's Richest Self-Made Women and on their list of Most Powerful Women in Business in 2024.

Liam Neeson's son approves of Pamela Anderson romance

Liam Neeson's son approves of his relationship with Pamela Anderson. The 73-year-old actor and his 58-year-old Naked Gun co-star star are believed to have started dating after meeting on set and when they appeared on Watch What Happens Live to promote the film on Sunday (03.08.25), host Andy Cohen - who was a close friend of Liam's late wife Natasha Richardson - admitted he was "stanning" their romance, a viewpoint shared by Daniel Neeson. Andy told the couple: 'The question that I'm not asking the two of you tonight is what's going on between the two of you, but I do just want to say, as a very old friend of [Liam's], all of your friends are very much stanning this relationship, as the kids say." As Liam put his hand on Pamela's shoulder and she reached to squeeze it, Andy then asked Daniel, who was sitting in the audience: "Right Danny?" Daniel replied: "Yes." On Friday (01.08.25), Pamela shared a series of photos of herself and Liam on Instagram along with the caption: "The Naked Gun is finally in theatres! Bring your friends, family, lovers… whoever… just go and have a laugh… it's good for you! "I'll see you there [white heart and popcorn emojis] (sic)" And Daniel, 28, commented with a string of emojis including hands up, fire, and white hearts. Natasha's sister, Joely Richardson, also commented on the post with a string of red heart emojis. Andy recently admitted he was happy for Liam over his budding romance with Pamela because he can see similarities between the former Baywatch star and Natasha, who died in a skiing accident in 2009 aged 45. Speaking on his SiriusXM radio show last week, he said: 'Natasha was a dear friend of mine and I'm gonna tell you something. I and all of the friends in this circle are very much stanning whatever this is. 'As I was telling him at the premiere party, I go, 'Liam, she is an independent woman just like Tash was. She loves to cook. She has her own thing going on. She has two boys.'' Andy insists "this just works" as Pamela has been through a lot with her sex tape scandal and whirlwind marriage to ex-husband Tommy Lee - with whom she has sons Brandon, 29, and 27-year-old Dylan - and managed to reinvent her career. He added: 'I mean, this just works, and you know, she is a formidable human being, Pamela Anderson. She really is. What she's been through and how she kind of reclaimed herself and redefined herself." Liam - who has Micheal, 30, and Daniel with his late wife - previously confessed to being 'madly in love' with Pamela as he gushed about working with her. He told People magazine: 'With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her. She's just terrific to work with. I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with.'

Former ABC employee slams broadcast for ‘agenda-driven' reporting

Former ABC employee Elahn Zetlin publicly criticises the national broadcaster's editorial direction with claims he felt forced to leave due to persistent bias and a lack of accountability. 'It wasn't good enough … the way they were reporting on the conflict and also who they were giving a platform to locally to give comment about real issues that affected the broader Jewish community,' Mr Zetlin told Sky News Host Sharri Markson. 'The language used, the way of pushing an agenda… it was really black and white reporting. 'The concerns that I raised … it felt to me that it just dismissed, justified, swept under the carpet.'

‘Starving Jewish hostages to death': Protestors slammed for supporting Hamas' motive

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the pro-Palestine protest on Sydney's Harbour Bridge was a 'national shame' and a 'sign of moral decline'. This comes after Hamas released footage of an Israeli hostage being held captive in Gaza, digging his own grave. 'The terrorist holding him still underground in Gaza, claim this hostage is just being fed what they themselves have to eat, which is plainly false,' Mr Bolt said. 'Hamas is deliberately starving Jewish hostages to death.' Warning: Distressing footage.
