
Emirates Red Crescent donates clothing to families in Yemen
For the fifth consecutive year, the initiative provided clothing garments to 35,000 families- targeting the poor, sick, orphaned, and displaced persons across both regions.
The clothing drive coincides with another Emirates Red Crescent initiative in Yemen, which saw the distribution of sacrificial meat Hadhramaut to ease the financial burden of families.
The distribution took place in the Al Mukalla District, in the presence of Ahmed Salem Bazroos, Director General of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour Office in Hadhramaut Coast, along with a number of representatives from the ERC.

Among them are illuminated curtains suspended between lampposts, displaying joyful white lighting alongside golden yellow, pistachio and sky blue tones. All decorations were installed with full safety and quality considerations. Energy-saving LED lights, weather-resistant materials and secure electrical components were used. UAE reaffirms commitment to supporting refugees worldwide
On the occasion of World Refugee Day on June 20, the UAE has reaffirmed its deep commitment to supporting refugees and addressing global displacement through humanitarian and development efforts. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, emphasised the country's leadership in highlighting refugee issues and alleviating their suffering. He highlighted the country's early recognition of the impact of conflict and instability on displacement, noting that the UAE has dedicated significant resources to promoting peace, tolerance and coexistence in vulnerable regions. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted major UAE contributions, including education initiatives like the UAE Digital School and the Fund for Refugee Women, which empowers female refugees socially and economically.
