V&A announces first UK exhibition devoted to haute couture house Schiaparelli
It will also explore the present-day incarnation of Schiaparelli, which is now in the hands of creative director Daniel Roseberry.
Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art will be staged in the Sainsbury Gallery and comprise more than 200 objects, including garments, accessories, jewellery and paintings.
The exhibition, created in close collaboration with Schiaparelli, will be the first of its kind to spotlight the London branch of the house, according to the museum.
Highlights include the Skeleton dress, which features quilting resembling large bone, the Tears dress, which features a unique 'tear' print, and a hat shaped to look like an upside-down shoe – all conceived in collaboration with surrealist artist Salvador Dali.
The exhibition will reference the popularity of Schiaparelli's designs for film and the theatre with artworks by Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, French poet Jean Cocteau, and US visual artist Man Ray on display.
Tristram Hunt, director of the V&A, said: 'Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art will celebrate one of the most ingenious and daring designers in fashion history.
'The V&A holds one of the largest and most important fashion collections in the world, and the foremost collection of Schiaparelli garments in Britain.
'Schiaparelli's collaboration with artists and with the world of performance make the Maison and its founder an ideal subject for a spectacular exhibition at the V&A.'
Delphine Bellini, chief executive of Schiaparelli, said: 'Elsa Schiaparelli's fearless imagination and radical vision redefined the boundaries between fashion and art.
'This exhibition celebrates her enduring influence through iconic collaborations with 20th century masters and a pioneering fusion of creativity and commerce.
'With its unparalleled collections, expertise in fashion and design, cultural reach, and ability to bridge tradition and innovation, the Victoria and Albert Museum offers the perfect setting to showcase her legacy alongside Daniel Roseberry's creations, which carry her surrealist spirit forward blurring lines with bold, sculptural designs that both honour and reinvent her vision for a new century.'
The exhibition is the latest in the V&A's series of major fashion exhibitions which includes retrospectives of Gabrielle Chanel, Christian Dior and Alexander McQueen.
Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art will run from March 21 to November 1 2026.
Tickets will go on sale in Autumn 2025.

'I got everything I wanted but the Claret Jug'
Rory McIlroy was determined to soak it all in this time. Six years ago, when the Open Championship returned to Royal Portrush for the first time in 68 years, the star attraction chose isolation. He tried to live out the week in his own world and let everything else happen around week, he has embraced home comforts and accepted the adulation, from his red-eye Monday practice round through to being roared on by thousands on the 72nd hole. He has given people his time, signed countless autographs, acknowledged adoring fans in between shots. He even gave everyone a bonus look at the Green result has been a week that, in his words, had everything but his second Claret Jug. His consolation was one of the most emotional receptions he has ever experienced on a golf course. As he strode towards the final green on Sunday, McIlroy admirably held it together. Clearly, it wasn't easy."I tried as best as I could to keep my emotions in check, especially walking up the last there and that reception," said McIlroy, who closed with a two-under 69 to finish seven adrift of Scottie Scheffler."It's been an awesome week. I've gotten everything I wanted out of this week apart from a Claret Jug, and that's just because one person was just a little bit better than the rest of us."I feel so thankful and just so lucky that I get to do this, I get to do this in front of this crowd. Hopefully I'll have one or two Opens left here, if the R&A decide to keep coming back, probably one while I'm still competitive and another one while I'm more grey than I already am." McIlroy's play was a microcosm of his career. At times, he was a showman (Saturday's eagle on 12), while at others he got in his own way (three bogeys in four holes on Thursday and a double at 10 on Sunday). Ultimately, he gave himself too much to do going into the final round. Trailing Scheffler by six, McIlroy needed quick birdies to ignite the crowd and make the frontrunner as uncomfortable as possible. A two-under 34 on the front nine failed to do that and when McIlroy frittered away two shots on the 10th, it was clear the championship was beyond his reach. The crowd remained huge, but the energy was different to Saturday, and that "keep your head up, Rory" could be heard regularly was a reflection of a challenge fizzling out. "I felt like I did nine, and 10 today were the ones that killed me," he added."Not that...I was never going to get to 17-under, I don't think." What's next for McIlroy? A tie for seventh drew the curtain on an unforgettable major season for McIlroy. It started with the career high at the Masters as he realised a lifelong ambition and finally completed his career Grand Slam. A month later, he barely broke into the top 50 at the US PGA Championship, but his week was overshadowed by a failed driver test and his media shutout. He let his temper get the better of him at times at the US Open, but the emotions stirred by Portrush were much more positive. Now, he can reflect during a down period, before finishing out his season with the FedEx Cup play-offs and the Ryder Cup in New York. "I feel like being back in Europe for a bit was a nice reset," said McIlroy, who added he will maintain a light playing schedule in order to be "fresh" for Europe's bid to retain the Ryder Cup. "Yeah, I feel like I'm getting back to where I want to be, and we've still got a lot of golf left this year with obviously Ryder Cup being the big one in there in September." 'Scheffler the bar we're trying to reach' McIlroy was keen to praise Scheffler during his final meeting with the media at Portrush. Since the Northern Irishman's triumph at Augusta, Scheffler has responded by doubling his major tally and ticking off another two legs in his own slam hunt. "None of us could hang with Scottie this week. He's an incredible player. He's been dominant this week. Honestly, he's been dominant for the last couple years. He is the bar that we're all trying to get to."In a historical context, you could argue that there's only maybe two or three players in the history of the game that have been on a run, the one that Scottie's been on here for the last 24 to 36 months. Incredibly impressive."Finally, having buried the pain of 2019, McIlroy was asked about the prospect of Opens at Portrush in the future. "I think Portrush has quickly turned into one of the best two or three venues that The Open goes to. Talk to every player this week, and they won't say one single bad thing about the golf course."Then I just think the way it sets up, from a logistical standpoint, I think the R&A have worked so well with the local government to make sure everything runs smoothly. "It's only been six years since 2019. I'm not sure Portrush is going to have The Open every six years, that would be nice, but I would obviously love it to keep coming back."If and when it does, McIlroy will be front and centre. Whenever that is, he'll know which approach to take.

Bennett was hugged by his dad just moments later. Scottie then took him to the green and showed him the trophy, but Bennett didn't seem that impressed. Golf fans on Twitter loved the interaction between the golfer and his son. She says the brothel, which is licensed, has been turning the heads of the famous who flock from Sin City. And staff have measures in place to ensure sex-obsessed A-listers don't get caught. Duff told The Sun: 'We've absolutely had celebrities and well-known people come through these doors. 'But whenever anybody asks me who they are, my lips are sealed. 'Usually, if they're of a higher profile when they arrive, it's set up prior and we have arrangements where they go right with the lady that they're coming here to see. 'Or we have private areas where we could do a meet and greet. 'There is a bar and restaurant at Sheri's and many clients do hang out in the bar, have a drink and have some lunch. 'We also get people who come in just to have lunch and aren't actually looking to see any of us. 'It's not strictly necessary that if someone comes, they have an appointment. 'We follow an appointment protocol without having to put celebrities out in the bar for everyone to see, if that's something they'd prefer. 'That happens even sometimes just for people who are very shy and nervous, even if they aren't necessarily famous, but then of course we are prepared as well when these higher profile clients come in.' Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas, but is legal at Sheri's Ranch, which lies around 60 miles from the strip, thanks to a loophole. Some of the pricier experiences cost six-figure sums - particularly for stays at their hotel, staff confirmed. Each worker determines their own rates - and the resort has 100 licensed sex workers who rotate, with 25 available at any one time It now also offers customers the chance to film their experiences with women who work there, keeping a copy with permission. Married porn star Electra Rayne, 28, has been working as a sex worker at the venue for two years. She offers packages including a 'double porn star experience' with fellow adult actress Summer Hart. Rayne says she also hosts 'toy parties' and knows a colleague who offers a 'double redhead experience'. 10 She told The Sun: 'The idea of exchanging sex for money was always something that really interested me. 'I really like being able to bring joy to lots of people. "It's not necessarily sexually gratifying, but it is gratifying to be able to figure out what someone wants, what is enjoyable for them, and then to be able to give it to them. "When I moved to Las Vegas, I had heard that there were legal ranches. 'I didn't know very much about them but I've always been a big rule follower to the point where my family actually makes fun of me. "So this is not something that I was going to just start doing myself. 'But once I moved here, I had a friend who started working at Sheri's, and she actually had a really good time there. 'And so I was like, okay I'm going to give it a try. "I also do porn, and I was only planning to do it once as an opportunity for my fans to come meet me, but I ended up enjoying being there so much and enjoying the staff so much that now I'm there every month." 'DOUBLE PORN STAR EXPERIENCE' Rayne also cleared up the "common misconception" that prostitution is legal in Las Vegas. 'In order for a county in Nevada to have legal brothels, it has to be in a county below a certain population threshold, and then also it has to be done at a licensed brothel," she said. 'So I couldn't just meet a client in my county and go to see them at their hotel or something, that would still be illegal. "They have to come to you, not the other way around.' She continued: 'One thing that's actually a great example of what's happening right now: a really good friend of mine, her name is Summer Hart, she is also a porn star. 'She is a more famous porn star than I am, but we've been really good friends for years. From me being like, 'oh my God, I love working there, it's so great', she finally was like, okay I want to try it. 'So she is coming for her first time in just a couple of weeks, and we'll be there at the same time. We have been actively marketing a double porn star experience. 'Sometimes other ladies will get together too when they have common interests or there's something about them, like I have a friend who is a redhead and is planning to put together some packages with another redhead for a double redhead experience. "There's a lady that I love booking toy parties with.' Duff began working at the venue in 2006 following a chance tour she took there when she visited with her mother-in-law for lunch. She was pulled to one side and was offered a job she has held ever since. Rayne says she has seen endless eye-opening requests from customers since she started working there. And she says her wife is 'fully supportive' of what she does for a living. Rayne added: "Some things that I do are pretty interesting, things that people don't necessarily think about. I never in a million years thought I'd be a porn star. It was just like a bucket list thing 'I have a client who comes to see me who likes to try on my skirts, but what's interesting about him is all of the rest of the sex is very vanilla and normal. 'I love when guys bring me their wives and they really just want to watch while I play with their wives. Those are some of my favourite appointments." She added: 'I never in a million years thought I'd be a porn star. It was just like a bucket list thing. 'I started stripping to pay for college. I absolutely loved stripping. I finished my degree, and I started going to work with my degree but I was still dancing on the side. 'And then in 2019, I had 3 surgeries, and I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, and so I racked up $10,000 in medical debt, and I was back in the strip club for one week in March of 2020 when all of the strip clubs closed. 'So I hopped on the OnlyFans train at that time like everyone else did. 'Then in March of 2021, I quit my day job to do adult work full time. In October 2021, I moved from Chicago to Las Vegas for my job.' She added: 'My wife is super supportive. In fact, on my first trip to Sheri's, she drove me and she helped me bring in my suitcases.' With its unique luxury packages and 100 licensed sex workers on rotation, the popularity of Sheri's Ranch shows few signs of slowing.
