Looking for a way to unload those unused items piling up in the garage and basement? Why not give them away to someone who could give them new life?
Newmarket's Curbside Giveaway Days allows residents to place unwanted, gently used items at the curb for others to scoop up, free of charge.
Think of a garage sale without the money exchange or bartering. Mark items free and just leave them at the end of your property.
The event takes place Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Any items remaining after 5 p.m. must be removed that evening.
So, what can be placed at the curb? Here's some ideas:
Books, CD's, and DVD's
Furniture and small appliances
Sports equipment and toys
Yard and gardening equipment (e.g. lawn mowers, shovels, rakes, etc.)
Kitchen gadgets, dishes, cutlery, pots and pans
Construction material (e.g. nails, paint, wood, etc.) and tools
Artwork and mirrors
Electronics
Clothing
Items that shouldn't be set out for pickup include anything that can't be reused.
