Minnesota Timberwolves Hang Onto Popular Coach
There is no denying that Chris Finch has been the best head coach in Minnesota Timberwolves franchise history. That doesn't mean he has been perfect, and there is definitely something to be desired at times. The coaching staff is not just a result of Finch though. He has some exceptional assistants, and Micah Nori may be among the best of them. He has popped up in coaching searches over the course of the last few years. Advertisement Maybe the best fit for Nori would have been the New York Knicks. He has familiarity with superstar Karl-Anthony Towns as the Timberwolves sent him there prior to last season. Thankfully that isn't coming to fruition. Related Headlines Micah Nori staying with Minnesota Timberwolves After one of the best seasons in franchise history the New York Knicks canned head coach Tom Thibodeau. They had interest in both Minnesota Timberwolves coaches Chris Finch and Micah Nori. The former was rebuffed, and the latter won't come to fruition. With the Knicks opting against hiring Nori, he will return to the Minnesota Timberwolves bench for the fifth-straight year. It will be his 17th year in the NBA as an assistant coach. He started with the Toronto Raptors in 2009. A two-year stint with Sacramento followed, and then three year stops in both Denver and Detroit came before his time with Minnesota. Advertisement Nori has grown to be something of a fan-favorite as he provides a great in-game interview. Fans have gotten to see a bit of his personality as well as his ability to break down the game. Mike Brown coached the Sacramento Kings the past two-and-a-half seasons. Sacramento sent him packing in December after a 13-18 start. He has done multiple stints as an assistant coach while having 11 years of head coaching experience under his belt. Related: Timberwolves Trade NAW; Former Players Sign Elsewhere Over the course of his career Brown has a 454-304 (.599) record and took the 2006-07 Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Finals. Former Bucks star Damian Lillard's GIF response to Giannis-Myles Turner report
The post Former Bucks star Damian Lillard's GIF response to Giannis-Myles Turner report appeared first on ClutchPoints. Recently, the NBA world received a jolt when it was announced that the Milwaukee Bucks would be waiving Damian Lillard in order to sign former Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner to a long-term contract. As part of the exchange, the Bucks will be stretching out Lillard's contract over five years in order to acquire the necessary cap space to sign Turner. Advertisement On Wednesday, ESPN NBA insider Ramona Shelburne reported that Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo knew about the Turner signing before it happened and was onboard with it. This in some ways seemed to contradict an earlier report from Chris B. Haynes saying that Antetokounmpo was upset with the Bucks' waiving of Lillard. Lillard responded under a tweet from BucksShowYo regarding the Shelburne report with a GIF expressing his seeming frustration. Lillard is now free to sign with any team after being waived by the Bucks. The point guard is expected to miss the entirety of the 2025-26 season after tearing his Achilles tendon during the Bucks' playoff loss to the Indiana Pacers this past spring, but is still sure to have a number of suitors who will be happy to bring him onboard in hopes of having him healthy for the 2026-27 campaign. A big move for the Bucks Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images The Bucks' waiving of Lillard and signing of Turner reiterated that the franchise seemingly has no plans of moving on from Giannis Antetokounmpo anytime soon. Advertisement Milwaukee is looking to take advantage of an Eastern Conference landscape that is currently riddled with high-profile injuries, including to Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum, each of whom is expected to miss all of next year along with Lillard. Still, it remains to be seen whether or not Turner alone will be enough to help the Bucks keep pace with teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference hierarchy. Without much flexibility at their disposal, the Bucks will be banking on a career year from Turner to provide Antetokounmpo with as much help as possible. Indiana Pacers Linked to 20.4PPG Scorer in NBA Trade Rumors
Indiana Pacers Linked to 20.4PPG Scorer in NBA Trade Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Even after losing Tyrese Haliburton to a torn Achilles, the Indiana Pacers could have competed, at least for a playoff spot, in the weak Eastern Conference. Advertisement Instead, they let Myles Turner walk in free agency and seem content and poised to take a massive step back from their Finals appearance. Expect the 2025-26 season to be full of Indiana taking stock of who is a good long-term fit, although they could make a series of moves to bolster their roster. Blake Flynn of The Wrightway Sports Network proposed a trade with another middling Eastern Conference team to land them an elite scorer. Full Mock Trade Details Pacers receive: Coby White Bulls receive: Aaron Nesmith, Ben Sheppard, 2027 first-round pick This trade certainly addresses scoring. Last season, White averaged 20.4 points and shot 37 percent from deep. A core lineup of Andrew Nembhard, White, Pascal Siakam, Bennedict Mathurin, and Tony Bradley is an improvement, although they still need to upgrade at center. Advertisement However, there is one massive flaw in this deal. White will be a free agent after this season is over, and the Pacers have already made it clear that they are not willing to shell out money to keep solid players in town, which is a shame. Of course, the Pacers could always trade Nembhard once Haliburton returns to make room on payroll for White, although the defense Nembhard brings can't be overlooked. All in all, this trade presents a short-term solution but ignores a sad truth: the Pacers are not interested in competing, especially if they have to pay for it.
