The rapper is expected to receive a far lesser sentence under the law on federal sentencing than the maximum of 20 years he faces for the two prostitution crimes he was found guilty of Wednesday morning, stated former federal prosecutor Mitchell Epner, NY POST reported.
However, Combs has already been imprisoned for approximately ten months since his detention on September 16 and may have already completed the most of his term when he is sentenced, which is probably going to happen in a few months.
Epner also stated that he thinks Combs' motion for bail may be granted by Judge Arun Subramanian.

Woman's suicide bid: Man, 25, held for sexual assault
A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting on the pretext of marriage and blackmailing a 19-year-old woman, who attempted suicide by consuming acid at her home in southwest Delhi's Rangpuri area on June 18, Delhi Police confirmed on Wednesday. The case came to light when the victim's mother filed a complaint at Vasant Kunj police station on June 25. (FILE) The case came to light when the woman, battling severe injuries, was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital, where she remains critical. According to police, the accused had been in a relationship with the woman for seven years – when she was a minor – and had allegedly promised to marry her. However, when she confronted him about his refusal to follow through, he threatened to leak her private photos and videos, pushing her into 'depression'. The woman consumed acid at her home on June 18 and has been undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital since then, where doctors describe her condition as critical. The case came to light when the victim's mother filed a complaint at Vasant Kunj police station on June 25. In her first information report, the mother stated that neighbours alerted her after finding her daughter in severe pain next to a bottle of acid. The victim was first taken to a nearby hospital before being referred to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors reportedly gave her only a 10% chance of survival, the woman's mother said in the FIR, a copy of which was seen by HT. All of this happened because of (accused)… he had promised to marry my daughter… They have been in a relationship for seven years… We want justice. He also blackmailed my daughter and would threaten to leak her private videos,' the FIR said. The FIR further alleges that the accused, who worked as an airport loader but is currently unemployed, forced the woman to undergo two abortions during their relationship. Police recovered voice recordings from the victim's phone that allegedly corroborate the blackmail claims. Deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Amit Goel confirmed that authorities were first notified about the acid consumption case on June 18. 'An MLC information was received from regarding a suicide attempt by a 19-year-old woman who had consumed acid. The investigating officer reached the hospital, collected the MLC and found the woman was unfit for statement. Our enquiry revealed that the victim was in a relationship with a man which led to her being depressed,' Goel said. After analysing her phone and gathering evidence, police arrested the 25-year-old from his Rangpur Pahari residence on June 25, the same day the FIR was registered. The case has been filed under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (pertaining to sexual intercourse by deceitful means) and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, as the relationship reportedly began when the victim was a minor. At the hospital, the victim's mother told HT that the accused had been harassing her daughter for years. 'We trusted him… I had met him before and he assured me that he would marry her, but instead used private photos to blackmail her. When she confronted him, he threatened to kill us,' she said.

Maha to amend MCOCA to nail drug mafia: Fadnavis
Nagpur: In a major step aimed at combating the growing narcotics menace in Maharashtra, CM Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday announced that drug offenders will now be prosecuted under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Fadnavis made the announcement while responding to a question raised by MLC Parinay Fuke in the legislative council. Highlighting the severity of the drugs issue in smaller cities like Bhandara and Gondia, Fuke said that the synthetic drug mephedrone (MD) has become easily accessible to the youth. He expressed concern over hookah parlours acting as hubs for drug exposure, citing instances of minors, as young as 15 years, in Nagpur getting involved in violent crimes under the influence of drugs. Responding to the concerns, Fadnavis said drug-related crimes are difficult to curb solely through arrests. "We book these offenders under NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. They later secure bail and resume illegal activities. So we were thinking whether we can book them under MCOCA. Now that decision has been taken. We will amend the law, bring them under organized crime (definition). This amendment will be introduced in this session itself," he said. The CM also pointed out the challenge of inter-state criminal movements, stating that drug offenders often cross state borders to avoid arrest. However, he added that improved intelligence-sharing among states has now made tracking such criminals more effective. Maharashtra registered 1,490 cases related to MD over the past three years. In total, 5,151kg MD and its raw materials were seized over the last five years, with the estimated value exceeding Rs9,500 crore and 116 accused arrested during the period. MP: Crime Branch, NCB jointly seize 1.96 gram LSD drug in Bhopal, one detained
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 2 (ANI): In a joint operation, Bhopal Crime Branch and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Bhopal unit seized 1.96 grams of LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) drug in the city and detained a 19-year-old youth in connection with the same, a police official said on Wednesday. According to the police, the youth, identified as Karan Sharma (19), a resident of Chandbad locality in Bhopal, had been ordering the drug online from Kerala and receiving it via postal parcels. Upon receiving a tip-off about drugs being received through post, a team was forced. As soon as the youth received the parcel, he was detained by the team. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Addl. DCP, Crime) Shailendra Singh Chouhan said, 'Bhopal Crime Branch and NCB Bhopal unit jointly took an action in which we received an input that a parcel has left from Kerala containing LSD drug and a person in Bhopal will receive the parcel. Following which, a team was formed and tracked the movement of the postman as well as the accused. As soon as the parcel was delivered, the team raided the spot, seized the drug and detained one person.' A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) act into the matter and further investigation is underway, he said. The officer added that they have taken action on the primary information as of now and are investigating the matter further to ascertain the depth of the chain. Additionally, Additional DCP Chouhan said that the sender was already arrested and they received input from that end, following which they initiated action here in the city. According to the police, the accused had ordered the drug online once or twice. The team seized 1.96 gram LSD drug from the accused and registsred a case into the matter. Further investigation into the matter is underway. (ANI)
