'We took baby on holiday and left toddler at home - we didn't want him there'
One couple recently jetted off to Morocco with their four-month-old son, as they left their two-year-old son at home with his grandmother - dividing opinions
A couple have divided opinions after choosing to take their baby on holiday, but leave their toddler at home.
Georgia and Chris Brown, both 30, recently took their four-month-old son, Harry, on a four-day holiday to Morocco - while leaving their two-year-old son, George, at home with his grandmother. The couple explained they wanted some 'one-on-one time' with their baby, something they felt wouldn't be possible with a toddler in tow.
Georgia, a business consultant from southeast London, and Chris, a sales executive, said they gave George a similar experience when he was a baby, taking him on a trip to Sorrento, Italy. They hoped to give Harry the same chance to be the centre of attention.
'George's first holiday was all about him, and we wanted that experience with Harry,' Georgia told What's the Jam. 'With a toddler, it's a very different experience because you're always watching out for them. George is running wild, and Harry's life very much revolves around what his brother's doing.'
Chris booked the holiday as a surprise birthday gift for Georgia. She was initially surprised to see that only one child was included in the booking, but understood the reasoning and found it 'quite sweet.'
Georgia emphasised that George is very loved and well cared for by his grandmother while they were away. The couple also made sure to FaceTime George daily.
However, after Georgia shared a video of the holiday on TikTok, the couple faced a flood of criticism online, with some accusing them of being 'bad parents' and neglecting their toddler. Others suggested financial reasons were behind the decision, which Georgia denied.
'I didn't expect the reaction,' Georgia said. 'People said 'that poor boy' and that he'll remember this forever. But he's independent and happy. We FaceTimed every day, and he had a great time with his gran.'
Despite the backlash, the couple doesn't regret their choice. Since the Morocco trip in March, the whole family has been on holidays together to Germany and Ireland.
'It was lovely to have that special time with Harry,' Georgia said. 'George was well cared for, went to the zoo, and had fun with family. It was a great balance.'
The online responses have been mixed - some calling the decision selfish or unfair to the older child, while others defended the Browns, emphasising the importance of parents having individual time with each child.
One supporter said, 'There's nothing wrong with what you've done if the kids are left with loving family. People just don't understand how hard parenting is.'
Another commented, 'It's thoughtful to give each child quality time, especially when most holidays are family ones.'

'Absolutely beautiful and cheap' country is 'most underrated in world'
A travel fan has shared her love for the "most underrated country in the world" with holidaymakers, as the stunning spot has plenty of things to see and do for less than £500 A holidaymaker is urging travel enthusiasts to visit what she calls the "most underrated country in the world" promising a wealth of activities and an experience that won't break the bank at under £500. Hannah, a young traveller who regularly shares her top travel tips on her TikTok account @hannahshols, has been captivated by numerous destinations but holds a special place in her heart for Malta. Nestled below Italy and above Tunisia, this gem of a location is just over a three-hour flight from the UK. On a trip to the diminutive nation with friends, Hannah found that they each spent slightly more than £400 for flights, a five-night hotel stay with access to a rooftop pool, breakfast included, as well as baggage and transfers. Her TikTok video showcasing the adventure amassed over one million likes. She enthused: "Malta is by far the most underrate country I think I've ever visited." She continued: "Even though Malta is the 10th smallest country in the world, it is definitely giving big country energy." The video highlights the destination's captivating sea views, abundant shops and restaurants, historical landmarks, and stunning gardens. Reflecting on her September visit last year, Hannah shared why the trip was so memorable: "One thing I loved about Malta was that it was like nowhere I'd ever been before. It's got such strong Arabic and Roman influences." She concluded with heartfelt praise: "It was just absolutely beautiful and everyone we met just seemed so proud to be Maltese." The travel influencer recommends a trip to the capital city of Valletta for those visiting Malta. Hannah and her group primarily explored the city on foot or used the bus service, which she described as "super convenient and cheap". She suggested: "Just spend a day in Valletta, roaming around, street dining, going to the boutique shops, wandering in and out of the gardens, seeing the cannons being fired at the saluting battery, and checking out the harbour front." Hannah also endorsed the Gozo, Comino and Blue Lagoon cruise. This full-day maritime excursion departs from Sliema and offers the chance to see both islands in a single day, along with various landmarks. According to Hannah, the cost for her and her friends was "around £29 each". Her video attracted over 1,000 comments, with many echoing her sentiments about the country. A local resident expressed, "I am from Malta and I am so happy that you loved our little island." Another user exclaimed: "Malta is stunning, I would go back in a heartbeat," while someone else remarked, "Genuinely one of my favourite European destinations ever- never gets boring. "Omg I live in Malta, it's so underrated," another commenter posted. How to get to Malta A variety of airlines including Air Malta, Easyjet, British Airways, Ryanair, and Jet2 operate direct flights from the UK to Malta. The most frequented route is from London Heathrow to Malta International Airport, located in the capital city of Valletta. Flights can also be booked from Bournemouth, Liverpool, Norwich, Belfast, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds, Nottingham, and Glasgow.

Georgia Toffolo takes a swipe at Jeff Bezos and multi million dollar wedding
Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos and his new wife Lauren Sanchez may have had the perfect wedding day in Venice but not everyone was impressed by the eye-watching cost involved Georgia Toffolo has aimed a dig at Jeff Bezos and his mega-money wedding - months after she tied the knot to her millionaire boyfriend. The Amazon mogul and his wife Lauren Sanchez got hitched in Venice this weekend, with the wedding believed to have cost close to £40million. They eye-watering sum has been met with annoyance across the world after the businessman, 61, the third richest man in the world with an estimated worth of £177billion, said 'I do' with no expense spared. Georgia - who married former BrewDog CEO James Watt in a modest bash back in March - was taking questions from her followers on Instagram and she clearly believes that the money could have been used better elsewhere. The former I'm A Celebrity campmate was asked by one fan: "What do you think about the Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez wedding?'" She replied: "OK so each to their own and I know so many women out there fantasise about their wedding day and want a huge day. However... IMAGINE if they'd have instead given the £50+ million (how on earth do you even spend that on a weekend) they've spent on charities. That would have been the coolest most brilliant thing ever." Georgia and James started dating in 2023 and got engaged in October when the millionaire, 42, popped the question during a romantic trip to Greece to mark the former Made In Chelsea star's 30th birthday. They got hitched in Gardenstown, in the county of Aberdeenshire in North East Scotland, taking their vows in the same church James's grandparents were married in. Posting on her Instagram after the ceremony, Georgia (known as Toff) announced: "James and I got married today. 1st March will forever be the best day of my life - the day I became your wife. We eloped!" The guestlist, she added, included "whoever could get here with 48 hours notice" and hinted that there's another wedding bash in the pipeline, adding: "To our family and friends who aren't with us, we will celebrate with you soonest!". The pair both shared some rather unconventional wedding photos, including one ofJames dressed in fishing waders and another showing Georgia - dressed in a cream, off-the-shoulder fleece dress - clutching some freshly-caught lobsters. It was a low key even compared to what we saw this weekend in Italy. Guests included Oprah Winfrey, who looked stunning in a burnt orange outfit that came complete with feathered sleeves. Others invited included Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Kim and Khloe Kardashian and Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, who were also pictured making their way to the old shipyard, the Arsenale. According to reports, the invited guests amounted to 200 people and Sir Elton John and Lady Gaga were among the performers of the night. And while the happy couple and their guests enjoyed the celebrations which went without a hitch, it seems not everybody was pleased that the retail giant had booked out the entire Italian city. An estimated 700 demonstrators gathered together at Santa Lucia train station armed with banners that read "If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax." The demonstration is believed to have been organised by the No Space For Bezos group. A few members of the group were seen laden with Amazon boxes that had the words "ordered, shipped, delivered, rejected" written on them. But this did not seem to change the happy course of the couple as they continued to enjoy their day despite the interruptions. This is reportedly the second marriage for both Jeff and Lauren and between them, they have seven children.
