Woman Eats Golgappa With A Spoon In This Video. Desis Say ‘Emotions Are Hurt'

Last Updated: The video shows a woman using a spoon and a fork to eat a golgappa to make sure her makeup stays intact. 'Yeh bhi koi tareeka hai golgappa khane ka? – This one line seems to capture what a large part of the internet is feeling after watching a video that is trying to change how we eat our favourite street snack. Golgappa or pani puri is loved for its tangy paani, crunchy puris and the fun of eating it with your hands. But now, a new 'hack' is being suggested to eat it in a more 'graceful' way. The video, shared by the Instagram page PWFA (Pria Warrick Finishing Academy), shows a woman using a spoon and a fork to eat golgappa to make sure her makeup stays intact. The page, which offers personality development and counselling services, often shares content related to grooming and social etiquette. But the new video ended up starting a whole debate online. A Pani Puri 'Hack' In the video, the woman sits at a table with a bowl of crispy puris and a few small glasses filled with spicy and flavoured water. At first, she begins to eat with her hands, the way most people do. But just moments later, she pauses so that her makeup doesn't get spoiled. That is when she switches her method. This time, she picks up a puri using cutlery and places it in a bowl. Then she breaks it with a spoon, eats it in small bites and then sips some pani from a shot glass. All of it is done carefully without touching the food directly. According to her, the flavour remains the same just without the mess or makeup smudges. 'A beloved street delicacy, enjoyed with elegance. Yes, it's possible to savour pani puri without compromising your makeup—or your grace. Here is the subtle techniques to indulge in your favourite flavours while maintaining poise and polish. Because refined dining isn't limited to fine dining," read the caption. 'This Hurts,' Says Internet Of course, when something like this shows up especially involving golgappa, reactions are bound to pour in. After all for most people, golgappa isn't meant to be eaten with a spoon or fork. You pick it up, fill it with paani and pop it straight into your mouth. And many in the comments section made that very clear. One user commented, 'With all due respect ma'am I would rather apply another coat of lipstick but not compromise with the golgappa." Another user said, 'Golgappa is Indian street food — and not everything needs to be eaten with a spoon or a fork. There's a specific way to enjoy golgappas… you fill them with spiced water and pop the whole thing in your mouth — that's where the real joy is. Not everything needs to be influenced by the West." 'Totally not needed. This is hurtful to even watch," someone else remarked while a person said, 'My emotions are now hurt." A viewer noted, 'I can go without makeup but won't insult pani puri like this." 'You've taken the joy out of eating. Stop it. Please," an individual demanded. 'Oh yeah you bet!!! Golgappa is life!! And this is just an insult!!!" read another comment. The video might be trying to show a clean and fancy way to eat golgappa but for most people golgappa isn't about looking proper. It is all about the taste, eating it quickly and enjoying flavours to the fullest.
