Tawazun Council awarded ISO Certification for Business Continuity Management
ABU DHABI (WAM) Tawazun Council has been awarded the ISO 22301:2019 certification for its Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), a recognition granted to institutions that meet the highest international standards for ensuring operational continuity during crises and unforeseen disruptions.The achievement reflects the Council's ongoing commitment to institutional excellence and strategic readiness.The certification is accredited by the United Accreditation Foundation (UAF) in the United States. It affirms the Tawazun Council's capability to implement a comprehensive business continuity framework that enhances its institutional resilience and ensures uninterrupted delivery of strategic functions.This milestone adds to the Council's previous certifications: ISO 37001:2016 for Anti-Bribery Management Systems and ISO 37301:2021 for Compliance Management Systems, highlighting an integrated approach rooted in transparency, institutional integrity, and effective risk management.On this occasion, Khalifa Al Hameli, Chief Executive Affairs Officer at Tawazun Council, stated, "Being awarded the ISO 22301 certification marks a key milestone in Tawazun Council's institutional development journey. Abu Dhabi Airports welcomes 15.8 million passengers in H1
21 July 2025 13:44 ABU DHABI (WAM) Abu Dhabi Airports announced that it welcomed over 15.8 million passengers between January 1 and June 30, 2025, marking a notable 13.1% increase compared to the same period in International Airport (AUH) played a pivotal role in the increase, with 15.5 million passengers walking through its gates until the end of June – up 13.2% rise in passenger traffic was also supported by 133,533 total flights across the five airports in the first half of 2025, representing a 9.2% rise from the same period last year. AUH registered 93,858 aircraft movements, 11.4% over H1 2024 when it recorded 84,286 its global footprint remains central to Abu Dhabi Airports' growth strategy. In the first half of the year, the network added 16 new destinations and welcomed new airline additions include China Eastern Airlines' four-times-weekly Shanghai service (with daily service commencing in September), Air Seychelles' six weekly flights, and Fly Cham's service to Damascus.
