Mumbai: Nalasopara Station Gets A New Elevated Deck, Know More
Last Updated: Nalasopara is just one of 17 suburban stations being redeveloped under the Rs 947 crore MUTP 3A project. The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has completed a new 95-metre long and 11.5-metre wide elevated deck at Platform Number One of Nalasopara station. This elevated walkway connects the two southernmost foot overbridges (FOBs), helping reduce crowding and easing the flow of passengers. Handling over 1.83 lakh passengers and 440 suburban trains every day, Nalasopara is one of the busiest stations on Mumbai's Western Line. The new deck is expected to improve safety and comfort for commuters. What's Next for the Station? This project is part of a larger station improvement plan under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) 3A. The redevelopment of Nalasopara will continue with the construction of another elevated deck connecting all platforms, a new platform on the western side, four more escalators and three lifts. As per Mumbai Live, Sunil G Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer of MRVC, said, 'This is a big step towards reimagining Mumbai's suburban railway experience. We're not just reducing congestion, but also building safer and more accessible stations for all." Nalasopara is just one of 17 stations being redeveloped under MUTP 3A, which has a total budget of Rs 947 crore. Seven stations on the Western Line, including Kandivali, Mira Road, Bhayander and Vasai, are also being upgraded. Meanwhile, ten stations on the Central and Harbour lines are undergoing similar changes. What Will Improve for Commuters? BEML, Hindustan Shipyard come together to develop advanced marine systems
New Delhi, Jul 25 (PTI) State-owned entities BEML Ltd and Hindustan Shipyard have partnered to jointly work on the development of advanced marine systems. The agreement was signed between BEML CMD Shantanu Roy and HSL CMD Hemant Khatri along with senior leadership from both organisations in the national capital. In a statement on Friday, BEML Ltd announced entering into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HSL to collaborate on the co-creation of advanced marine systems encompassing innovation, indigenous design, manufacturing, and end-to-end lifecycle support. 'This collaboration with HSL marks a defining moment in our expansion into the marine sector. It is a strategic convergence of two national institutions committed to engineering excellence, indigenisation, and strengthening India's global footprint in maritime innovation," BEML CMD Roy said. Under the agreement, BEML will spearhead the design and development of specialised systems, applying its domain expertise in platform engineering and structural optimisation. BEML, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, operates in three verticals – construction and mining, rail and metro, and defence and aerospace. HSL is the nation's premier shipbuilding organization, catering to the needs of shipbuilding, ship repairs, submarine construction and refits, as well as the design and construction of complex and state-of-the-art offshore and onshore structures. Rajnath Singh to lay foundation of railway coach factory in MP's Raisen on Aug 10
Bhopal: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Madhya Pradesh to lay the foundation of a state-of-the-art rail coach manufacturing unit in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen on August 10, an official said. In a statement on Friday, the Madhya Pradesh government stated that railway coach manufacturing project of worth Rs 1,800 will mark the beginning of a major industrial step in the state. The unit will be established by a Bengaluru-based BEML manufactures a variety of heavy equipment like earthmoving, transport, railway and mining equipment. BEML is said to be the Asia's second-largest manufacturer of earth moving equipment. The facility will be located in Umaria village, Goharganj tehsil, Raisen district, around 50 km from state capital Bhopal. The state government has allotted 60 hectares (148 acres) of land to the company. Initially, an announcement was made by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav during his visit one-day visit attend a business meet to Bangaluru earlier in May this year. Ahead of the laying down foundation stone event, a delegation led by BEML's Chairman and Managing Director Shantanu Roy along with Director (Rail and Metro) Rajiv Gupta called upon Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday. During meeting, Chief Minister was apprised that BEML Ltd has started preparations for the foundation stone-laying event. The project is being developed in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, the Raisen district administration and other related agencies. During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasised that the establishment of the unit will provide substantial employment opportunities for local youth and bring about a positive transformation in the region's economy. Principal Secretary (Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion) of Madhya Pradesh government, Raghavendra Singh, who was also present in the meeting, said that the upcoming facility is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for around 1,575 people.
