Prime Day Is About 50% Over, So Don't Miss Out On These 37 50% Off Or More Deals

Buzz Feed09-07-2025
Amazon Prime Day is here! There are more deals than you could ever begin to look through on your own...so that's where we come in.
50% off a eufy self-charging robot vacuum/mop combo (the best price yet!) that does it all: Self-charges, self-cleans, self-dries, and self-drives so you can kickback, relax, and let your new fave robo maid take care of your floors. It even docks itself if it encounters a problem, so no more hunting all over your home to find your stray cleaning assistant!
Promising review: "I've had this for a couple of weeks now and it's been a joy. I have been sleeping on robovacs for years bc I didn't see the tech being good enough to do the job well enough to justify it. The bottom line is that if you spend more time sweeping and mopping than you want to, this is your solution. Let it do the heavy lifting of big spaces and you'll cut 90% of your time. Then you can just hit the spots it can't reach in minutes. I'm glad I waited for the tech to be good enough bc it feels like magic to me." —James T. TwerkPrice: $139.99+ (typically $279.99+; available in two styles)
50% off a Beachwaver B1 Rotating Curling Iron featuring the ability to basically curl your hair for you while you stand around watching YouTube videos. Technology these days, man.
BuzzFeed editor Elizabeth Lilly loves hers! She said:"I've used about every kind of hair styling tool on the planet and had given up on curling irons with clamps. I was fully a curling wand girlie because I'm adept at heat styling, and it gave me the covetable mermaid waves I wanted. Then I tried a Beachwaver and haven't looked back since. I have them in two barrel sizes and can now zone out while I do my hair. The directional buttons for the tool are easy to use, and if I accidentally press the button for the opposite way in which I'd like the barrel to spin, it's a quick and easy correction. I try all sorts of products for my job, but this has quickly become one that I talk about all the time."Promising review: "I am 36.5 years old and today I was able to curl my hair for the first time ever. The curling iron actually did all the work, can't take credit. I'm literally INCAPABLE of doing any cute hair stuff or figuring out how to operate a basic curling iron, so I figured I'd give this a try. It took me less than 15 minutes. I didn't section my hair even though it's long, I just clamped little sections and it twirled away. And it looks amazing!!!! Like the salon did it! I am very impressed and pretty angry at myself that I didn't buy this as soon as it was invented!!!" —user6Price: $49.50 (originally $99)

Promising review: "This bag is just the right size and easy to find things in. It's also a timeless style and goes with everything." —Polly RexPrice: $174 (originally $348; available in two colors)
Up to 60% off a tiny glass mushroom lamp with big Murano Glass energy. This is a perfect lamp for those of us who need a little illumination but don't have that much space.
Promising review: "The quality is very nice and we are happy with this purchase. The lamp is a frosted white glass when off and then a warm yellow glow when it's turned on." —Tiffany CAPrice: $19.80+ (originally $49.99; discount available in five styles)
50% off an Instant Pot 6-in-1 air fryer whose sleek and easily navigable look will appeal hardcore to anyone who got their start in Easy Bake ovens. (Not to mention you can make some crowd-pleasing mozzarella sticks in record time!)
Promising review: "Absolutely the best air fryer. If I could rate this air fryer a 10 I would. This week I used it to prepare toast, egg rolls, fried chicken, french fries and pizza and I couldn't be happier with the results. Simple function, temp and time buttons with preheat and turn food notifications makes this appliance a dream to operate and results in perfectly cooked food." —Jon Friedman Price: $64.99 (originally $129.99)
Up to 53% off a Vera Bradley bag for anyone who lives by the "wear a tote with every outfit" way of life, but is looking for something more substantial than their usual ratty canvas one. This quilted number has some protective padding and comes with a zippered inner pocket, so it's a fashion step up.
The paisley pattern is at the best price yet, but the solid black is the most versatile! Promising review: "This is well made for a summer purse. Lots of pockets and easy to carry. Nice nice. Not too large or small." —shelly65Price: $37.99+ (originally $80; available in five patterns)
50% off a self-cleaning automatic litter box that'll clean up after your kitty so you don't have to (because scooping gets real old, REAL fast). It'll help keep your home smelling fresh *and* keep your cat happy, because (like us humans) they prefer to use a clean "toilet." Reviewers vouch for this as a nice alternative to the much pricier Litter Robot, AND it comes with a lifetime warranty.
The best deal is for this bundle with the gray litter box, which comes with a three-pack of litter bags to get you started — nice!Promising review: "I'm absolutely loving this litter box. I've had THE Litter Robot for 4 years and I purchased this item a month ago. This one is so quiet and it takes up about half the space. My cats love it. I love that it's so much easier to remove the bag. Since the entry is so much lower to the ground the cats don't 'grab' when they jump out like with the other box so there's less mess around the opening of the box. Also this has a lifetime warranty and my other box only had a year. I've purchased a new globe for the old box which was almost the cost of the new box. Oh yeah, and the cost is a lot less than the Litter Robot! I've already recommended this item to my other cat parent friends." —Christine S.Price: $197.58 (originally $393.35; best deal is on the bundle)
53% off a cat DNA test (it's from Shark Tank!) that'll unlock a whole new world of info about your cat, like whether that gray baby is actually a Russian Blue or some kind of mix. It'll also give info on health markers and traits your cat is likely to have based on their breed — so now you'll know *why* your kitty is so uniquely lovable! There's also a dog DNA test for 50% off!
Promising review: "I purchased this kit because I have an 18-pound green-eyed, long-haired cat, whom everyone asks me about. 'Is she a Maine Coon?' 'Is she part Maine Coon?' I had no idea as to her lineage, as I found her struggling for her survival on the street and had no idea who her parents were. She turned out not to be a Maine Coon, but showed similar ancestry to rag dolls. Believable, as she's very people-friendly and almost acts like a dog. However, the most important part of this test is the health reports. I've sent a copy to her veterinarian, so that we can be on the lookout for anything she may be predisposed to and to have the vet give suggestions as to how to avoid certain outcomes. I'm very happy with the test and recommend it to anyone with concerns about their cat's health or curiosity about their lineage." —MadoucPrice: $74.99 (originally $159)
53% off dazzling Kate Spade earrings that'll have you reciting "Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight." Except your wish will already be on its way to coming true because you'll have snagged such a good deal on these beauties.
Price: $78.99 (originally $168; available in two styles)
Plus 50% off Kate Spade X Space Invaders Slingback Pumps for any old school gaming queens — add these to your shoe collection and break 'em out the next time you hit up the arcade.
Price: $164 (originally $328; available in women's sizes 5–11)
Up to 53% off an Aerie-inspired crossover flare leggings that are so ultra-soft and satisfyingly stretchy that reviewers swear by them for everything from Pilates to errands to lounging.
Promising review: "These are the comfiest pants. I usually buy big baggy sweatpants because I hate the tight cinching around my stomach from leggings or other tight pants. But the sweats are not as cute and don't give you the nice booty visual. I hesitantly bought these pants because the reviews raved about how comfy they were, and the reviews were absolutely right! These are tight around my waist, but not in a way that's uncomfortable at all. They sit nicely. They also give you a bangin' booty, whether you have one or not! Highly recommend this product. Good price for the quality." —SarahPrice: $14.23+ (typically $28.99+; available in women's sizes XS–XXL, three inseam lengths, and 23 colors)
50% off Pacifica Beauty Every Day SPF 30 Lotion to not only assist in protecting your skin from Mr. Golden Sun but also help keep it hydrated and looking radiant thanks to the Hyaluronic Acid and aloe vera in it.
Note that the AAD recommends using at least SPF 30 and reapplying as needed for skin protection. You can read about sunscreen myths and facts from dermatologists for more information! Promising review: "I have been using this for years, since at least 2020. I keep repurchasing it because it doesn't pill with other moisturizers or my makeup, as the La Roche Posay SPF does. I haven't found anything better and can say this saved me many sunburns when I lived in Texas. As someone with very fair skin, I can highly recommend this product. I also like the packaging and it's great for travel because it easily locks and doesn't leak. You don't have to fuss with the top to lock and unlock it." —ClairePrice: $9.98 (originally $20)
50% off a 12-pack of "Lyte" BodyArmor, an electrolyte sports drink worth a try if you often find yourself reaching for something that rhymes with Schmadorade.
I can personally vouch that this drink is better at helping kill hangovers than Gatorade —ElizabethPromising review: "Doctor ordered that I drink some sort of sports drink and I absolutely despise the taste of that 'other brand'. Gave this a try with little hope. I was wrong. This is AMAZING!! It's light and refreshing with no gross aftertaste or causing one to gag as she drinks it! The peach-mango is now in my subscribe and save. I'm so glad I took the chance on this product!!" —JinxiePrice: $9.99 (originally $20.04; available in seven flavors)
53% off a Ms. Rachel Official Surprise Learning Box parents (and their mini-mes) will recognize from her videos — it'll help encourage vocabulary development, offer a cute way to play peek-a-book, and has a bonus learning card with even more ways to engage!
Promising review: "We love Ms.Rachel, and once I discovered she had a line of toys coming out, my heart and pockets ached, but luckily, everything is reasonably priced, and this surprise box was worth every dime. This was one of the many Ms.Rachel toys I gifted to my daughter for Christmas. It's one of her treasured toys as she loves to take items out and put them back in and watch the corresponding Ms. Rachel episode. It's also super fun for her when I turn on my "Ms.Rachel voice" and play with it, saying, 'Take it out, take it out, take it…out!' As you can tell Ms. Rachel lives in my head rent-free 😂" —ArganisePrice: $13.99 (originally $29.99)
50% off a Philips Sonicare ~ExpertClean~ toothbrush (at its best price, and the first time it's been this price since *October 2022*) for a *far* better clean than you get with manual brushes — with less work, too. It comes with a charging case for traveling, and it even has a SENSOR THAT TELLS YOU IF YOU'RE BRUSHING TOO HARD. The technology we have!!
Promising review: "I've been flying through a few of the cheapest sonicares for years, and after frustration, I caved and paid for this high-end one. It's really a treat to have a cadillac of a toothbrush! So many options. It's so nice to have a simple on and off button instead of one button controlling all the settings and taking forever to turn the brush off. This brush has one simple power button. A separate button to change the various modes to brush with and when the brush is on you can adjust power level. The brush comes with some really fancy brush heads, and they are a game changer. I might have to buy brand name brush heads after this. They're longer and curve to hit your teeth just right. You will instantly feel the difference after brushing with a sonicare, treat yourself to a higher end one. Your dental hygiene is worth it. You're worth it." —CharlottePrice: $99.96 (originally $199.95; available in three colors) — and shop all the Philips Sonicare deals here. The Sonicare Protective Clean toothbrush is 36% off, bringing it down to $69.95.
Or 50% off (plus an additional $20 off coupon!!!) the Oral-B Genius X Limited electric toothbrush equipped with AI that adapts to your unique brushing style so you can ensure you're getting a deeper clean. It even connects to your smartphone to help keep track of your daily brushing habits.
Promising review: "Amazing clean. I was at first hesitant to spend that much on a toothbrush but it's worth every penny. It works at least 10x better than my $20 Oral B electronic toothbrush. The motion sensing is very cool and helpful. After just one brush my teeth feel almost like they do after a professional cleaning as opposed to how they felt after brushing with my cheap electronic toothbrush." —Anne E La PerlaPrice: $79.99 (clip the $20 off coupon to get this price; originally $199.99; available in black or white colors)
51% off the 65-inch Sony 4K Ultra HD TV — if you've been wanting to upgrade your TV for something sleeker, cooler, and more modern, then this is for you. The picture on the screen looks so crisp you'll feel like you're in the scene yourself. It's perfect for movie marathons and gaming nights thanks to its fast refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 features, and built-in Google TV.
And BTW, Google TV gives you the ability to stream from Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, HBO Max, Peacock and many more. OR you can just stream off your iPhone since it has AirPlay 2 support. Promising review: "Amazing TV in every way. Much brighter than its predecessor, so you can put it in light rooms and it still looks great. It's sleek and the way it sits when the base is behind it, it looks like some fancy art studio in my apartment. Sound is great and follows where the person speaks on the TV, which is neat. Surround sound by bouncing sound off walls and the ceiling works, but I wouldn't say it beats an actual sound system. I use a PS5 with seamless connection. Buying a Sony had everything to do with my PlayStation being my primary console. Although for streaming, just using the Google TV itself is nicer. Google has the TV formatted to show you your previously watched list from all your streaming services in one place. So you're not having to jump around through the million different services we all got now. THEN there is the 'find my remote' button on the TV… SOLD put it in my cart! Worth the money!" —Sage GlassPrice: $1,698 (Originally $3,499; available in two sizes — only one size on sale)

The quality of the video is great and you can adjust it how you want as far as motion detection. The night vision...WILD! And the fact that I can talk to my dog and hear him if he barks…I would definitely recommend both indoor and outdoor cameras. THEY ARE AMAZING!!!"—Jomyra MalavePrice: $99.99 (originally $259.99) — and shop all the Blink deals here

Someone recommended I try a Korean product and this started going viral around the same time. I lucked into a perfect color match on the first try, but I've learned there are sample packs if you aren't sure about the color. The coverage is incredible. It was very lightweight, not heavy at all. It did settle into my under-eye wrinkles without primer so if you're older that's something to keep in mind. Overall beautiful and long-lasting. This will be my go to foundation from now on." —AJ BondPrice: $10 (originally $25; available in 40 shades and sample kits to find your best shade match)

Promising review: "This power station has served me during power outages. It's able to power our TV, cable modem, some lights, and a fan without issues. It can even power our 5000btu portable air conditioner for almost 4 hours from 100% charge. It has two charging solar ports which I have two 400w panels hooked up to it. Battery life is great with little degradation for the 2 years that I've used it. [The] only thing I wish was that the power outlets were in the front instead of the back of the unit." —VicPrice: $1,279 (Originally $2,539; available in six styles)

Having a feeder where you can watch your dogs eat is better. Having a camera that can swivel to check where your dogs went and feed them? Perfect. The setup was easy, and I was up and running in no time. I have no regrets making this purchase, and I've gotten my dogs used to the new camera, and they definitely enjoy all the treats being dispensed. It's also nice to be able to talk to the pups and stop them from doing stuff through the mic. Highly recommend for people who aren't at home a lot and worry about their pets and just want to give them some loving while you're busy." —EugenePrice: $44 (originally $99)
51% off stylish Beats Studio Pro headphones that'll be worth the splurge, I promise. They have built-in spatial audio (it creates a surround sound–like experience), over 40 hours of battery, noise-canceling and transparency modes, and are ridiculously easy to pair via Bluetooth.
I got the Beats Solo 4 headphones (which are *also* on sale right now for 51% off!) for Christmas and was so excited that 1. they were pink and 2. to really try out my first pair of over-the-ear headphones. The sound quality was fabulous compared to the earbuds I've always used, but I was a little displeased with how the ear cups felt over my ears. I felt like I couldn't wear them for long periods of time or that I needed to take my earrings off to feel more comfortable. Then I was offered the chance to test out the Beats Studio Pro headphones (the ones Kim Kardashian helped design) and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to compare the two styles. Right off the bat, I prefer the Studio Pros solely because the ear cups are a bit larger and cushier — they are so comfy I can easily wear them for hours and nearly forget they're on my head. They charge quickly and *stay* charged for what feels like forever. It took me two seconds to connect them to both my computer and my phone *and* it's extremely easy to swap between the two. I'm an immediate fan and, honestly, can't see myself using another set of headphones possibly ever.Promising review: "My hair is on the 'bigger' side, so headphones tend to become uncomfortable after an hour or two of usage. However, these are so comfortable and light that I often forget I've got them on. I'm by no means an expert on this topic, but the sound quality these headphones provide is unreal. When listening to my favorite songs, I pick up on background instruments I was previously unable to. It's just so amazing to be able to listen to music like this. The noise cancellation is also top tier. Even in a crowded room, noise just disappears with the press of a button. Transparent mode works extremely well, too. I love being able to hold a conversation while still being able to hear my music. I HIGHLY recommend these headphones for anyone looking for a more budget-friendly alternative to more pricy competitors." —ShanaePrice: $169.95 (originally $349.99; available in seven colors)

Promising review: 'Impressive sound, stylish and sophisticated headphones. I personally like how it's not complete noise cancellation since I like to be aware of the environment around me. So this headphone is amazing for the right reasons. Quality, style, sound, and safety. Not to mention how sleek it is. Finally, headphones that are not bulky or heavy. I appreciate the smooth texture, feel, and the cushioned headband part. It's also easy to pair with my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. The blue slate color is classy, too! Excellent product!' —Diane Price: $97.99+ (originally $199.99; available in four colors)

Once out of the box, there's some plastic wrapping to get through, but then watch how fast the mattress starts to take shape and height. My wife and I were in bed that night. Each day just gets better and better. It is slightly firm at first; then, the memory foam starts to sink you until you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. This was my first time trying Colorgram, but it's definitely up there with my faves from Peripera!" —Kendra J.Price: $7.49+ (originally $14.99; available in 10 shades)

The fit is perfect—snug but not tight—and the cotton stretch material is soft, breathable, and stays comfortable all day long. Each pair feels high-quality, with a design that clearly sets them apart from other brands I've tried. The pack of seven is also super convenient, and I appreciate having reliable, stylish underwear that I can count on daily. 50% off a Peppa Pig version of Monopoly Junior you can count on to make your kids more excited than ever for a family game night. Beware, you might all fight over who gets to be Daddy Pig, though (dibs!!!)
Promising review: "I bought this board game for my granddaughter, and it's been an absolute hit. She's a Peppa Pig fan, so seeing her favorite characters on the board made her light up with excitement. It's a fun, simplified version of Monopoly that's easy for little ones to understand and play without getting overwhelmed. I especially love that this game gives her a break from the constant screen time on iPads and tablets, which is something I'm very mindful of. It's important to me that she engages in activities that stimulate her mind and allow for face-to-face interaction, and this game does exactly that. We've had some wonderful bonding time playing together, and it keeps her entertained while learning basic counting, money skills, and taking turns. I highly recommend this to any family with young kids—fun, educational, and most importantly, screen-free." —Bling QueenPrice: $9.99 (originally $19.99)
50% off a Balsam Hill 5.5ft Pre-Lit Classic Blue Spruce, in case you're planning a banger of a Christmas in July party or simply know your tree from last year has seen better days. Is that Jingle Bells I hear? Or is it just Santa quietly urging you to make this festive purchase...
It also comes with a stand and a storage bag! I actually had this exact tree in my first apartment, and it was beautiful. I took it along when my husband and I moved into our house and used it as a "bonus tree" in our front room for a while and then gave it to my sister for her apartment. It's lived quite a few lives since 2015 and is still going strong!Promising review: "We were very skeptical about buying an artificial Christmas tree. But the dryness of our tree last year, combined with the ongoing drought this year, made us think that this was probably our best option. We are very pleasantly surprised by how much we like it. We both grew up with fake trees in the '70s. Let me just say they have come a long, long, long, long way. This is really beautiful and full and realistic looking and I can't wait to decorate it. I am especially looking forward to no dry, dead needles all over my living room for 6 weeks every year. Once you fluff it up, it is perfect out of the box." —HibernialassPrice: $299 (originally $599)

Terrifying To Know About This Week

Hello! I'm Crystal, and you've landed on my weekly roundup of creepy, macabre, and horrible AF things I really wanted to share with like-minded folks (like you)! And if you looooove this kind of content, you should subscribe to my official That Got Dark newsletter to get your weekly dopamine fix of the macabre delivered RIGHT to your inbox! Now, fair warning, because this is a weekly newsletter, just know this article won't be formatted like your typical ~BuzzFeed style~ list. Each week, we'll be highlighting these topics: So, lock the doors and turn on a flashlight, it's time to dive into some dark stuff... If you need to add a new fear in your life, I have the perfect one for you: being eaten alive by a sinkhole. In 2013, a man in Florida named Jeffrey Bush was 'swallowed alive' by a 17-foot-wide SINKHOLE that had formed under his bedroom in the middle of the night, while he was sleeping. And, yes, you read that right…UNDER. HIS. BEDROOM. Apparently, the floor collapsed beneath Jeffrey, and he fell down into the void along with a dresser, TV, and most of his bed set. His brother, Jeremy, tried to save him, but said it was too late by the time he rushed in to help. Jeremy told reporters that all he could see was cable wire running from the TV down into the sinkhole, and a corner of Jeffrey's Bed. Jeffrey's body was NEVER recovered. Occasionally, I like to ask the BuzzFeed Community to tell me about the most mysterious, cult-like, bad-vibes towns in the United States they've ever been to. And you'd be shocked at how many responses I get each time (or maybe not). This week's spotlight: Mack, Colorado 'Once we had to stop here for do this! Real The Hills Have Eyes vibes. We immediately turned around because of the bad vibes, but got stuck by a passing train. When we returned, a woman, rail-thin with missing teeth, yelled, 'Fill up, I'll open up!' So I started getting gas and noticed the 1980s-style pump had a piece of tape tripping the price. I go past the foul garbage can with flies everywhere and open the door to a horror movie. To my right, a boy eating cereal at a table stops and stares desperately at me. All the store racks were covered with plastic, and dolls were hanging from the rafters. As the woman started yelling, 'You didn't fill up!' I noticed a paper saying, 'Where are you from?' I dropped a 20 to cover my gas. We drove off only to be stopped by the train again. Just as it cleared the road, I saw the woman with other devil's reject types running after the car. Luckily, we got out of there, so I can warn you all!" Wikipedia is like the Wild West. It's vast, lawless, and sometimes you can find some extremely weird (and horrifying) things out there. This week's spotlight: The murder of Junko Furuta. Warning: This is an extremely graphic story. Junko Furuta was a Japanese high school student who was abducted, raped, tortured, and then subsequently murdered in 1989 by four teenage boys over the course of 44 days. Some of the horrific acts she was subjected to included being repeatedly burned, beaten, forced to drink her own urine, and set on fire. Her case was often referred to as the "concrete-encased high school girl murder case," because her body was discovered packed in concrete inside a dumped oil drum. The case became widely known not only due to the extremely graphic nature of the repeated beatings and sexual assaults she endured, but also the belief from the public that the perpetrators received lenient sentences. Bruce Lee — Died: July 20, 1973. Cause of Death: Cerebral edema (swelling of the brain). How he died: Lee died on July 20, 1973, at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Hong Kong after being found unconscious on the floor of his apartment. He was 32 years old. Interestingly, at the time of his death, Lee had been in the process of working on a film called Game of Death. Because Lee had only shot roughly 40 minutes of footage before he died, the filmmakers opted to finish the film by using stand-ins, recycled scenes from some of his previous works, and even used real-life footage of Lee in his casket (as seen above) for a scene where the character in the film fakes his own death. Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer (2021) What it's about: A four-part true‑crime documentary miniseries covering the terrifying 1984–85 murder spree of Richard Ramirez, infamously known as the 'Night Stalker.'Why you should watch it: This is from a few years ago, but if you missed it, I HIGHLY recommend you get on that. It's a deeply fascinating story told through the eyes of the detectives who actually chased Ramirez. Where you can watch it: Streaming for free on Netflix. David Alan Gore Gore was a serial killer who committed six brutal murders in Florida between 1981 and 1983. He was often accompanied by his cousin, Fred Waterfield, and together they were given the moniker the "Killing Cousins." They would abduct, rape, and murder women and teenage girls, often using Gore's position as an auxiliary sheriff's deputy to lure victims. Gore was arrested after a failed escape attempt by 17-year-old Lynn Elliott, whose murder led to his capture. He was executed by lethal injection in 2012 after spending 28 years on death row. His last meal: Fried chicken, French fries, and butter pecan ice cream. Well, I think it's time we shut it down for the week. In the next issue, I'll talk about a sleepwalking killer and the tragic story of a feral child that will scar you for life (so be sure to subscribe below)! Until then, stay safe, keep the lights on, and I'll see you for another horrifying trip down the rabbit hole… Love this kind of content? All we know about Alistair 'Yellow' Douglas today, the musician last seen with missing Amy Bradley

Viewers of Netflix's latest true crime drop, Amy Bradley Is Missing, a three-part documentary examining the sad case of a young woman named Amy Lynn Bradley, who disappeared during a cruise ship holiday with her family in March 1998. At the time, she was just 23 years old. More intriguing still, since then there have been multiple rumoured sightings of Bradley, everywhere from the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao to Barbados and California – yet her family are still desperately seeking an answer and concrete evidence as to where she could be. In the Netflix series, one person who was pointed out to be a person of interest in Bradley's case was a musician, Alister 'Yellow' Douglas, whose band was playing on board the Royal Caribbean International cruise ship, Rhapsody of the Seas, when she vanished. Reports were made that Douglas had been seen dancing with Bradley in the early hours of the morning before her family raised the alarm that she was nowhere to be found. Douglas always denied any wrongdoing and that he played any sort of rule in Bradley going missing. Here, we take a deep-dive into who Alister 'Yellow' Douglas is, what he's said about Amy Bradley's case and where he is today. Alister Douglas, better known by his nickname 'Yellow' (a nod to his signature brightly dyed yellow hair), was once a vibrant presence aboard the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Rhapsody of the Seas, thanks to his turn at playing bass guitar in the ship's live band, Blue Orchid. When Amy Bradley vanished in the early hours of 24 March 1998, during what should have been a dream family holiday, surveillance footage and eyewitness testimony placed her with Douglas in the ship's nightclub just hours before she disappeared. The two were seen dancing together, and reports suggest they were also spotted on the deck after midnight. As one of the last known people to see Bradley, Douglas became a key figure in the investigation. The FBI grilled him extensively, and he even agreed to take a polygraph test, which he reportedly passed. Despite the scrutiny, no charges were ever filed against him, and he faded from the investigation as authorities pursued other leads. After the intense scrutiny from media and the police, Douglas became relatively anonymous over the following decades with his whereabouts were unknown – until late 2024, when investigative journalist James Renner, who has a YouTube channel dedicated to true crime, uncovered Douglas's surprising new life. Now in his 50s, Douglas has traded his bass guitar for a Bible. He resides in a remote mountain community in Grenada, where he serves as a reverend. His congregation is small—40 to 50 members—and his church is described as a 'humble shack' perched on the mountainside. But what's perhaps most striking about his new life is his practice of exorcism, a dramatic turn from his days as an entertainer. Speaking on Renner's YouTube channel, Douglas recalls Bradley approaching him after his set and telling him that she played saxophone, her dad was an insurance manager who had recently discovered she was gay and forced her to go on the cruise (something her family have denied), and that she was smoking a lot. "About five minutes to one I said 'I have to go, I have to be out of passenger area' and I left. That was my last conversation, last time I saw her," Douglas states, contradicting the three witnesses who claimed to have seen her on the upper deck with Douglas between 5:30 and 5:45am. Later in the interview he adds, "Around 7 o'clock, I was awakened by a call by the hotel manager and he asked me 'Douglas, do you have a woman in your room?'. It was forbidden, it was forbidden dating [...] And I said 'no' and I asked why, he said 'The woman you were talking to last night in the club, we can't find her'." After, as per Douglas' account, the ship was then grounded and nobody could enter or exit. "Everybody was interrogated," he said. "Lie detector tests... At that time, they didn't say anything much to me, they took the [wires] off me." Douglas added that an FBI agent later interviewed him on multiple occasions, telling him again that he was clear. "I've lost so many opportunities because of this," Douglas shared. "Once my name was entered [into Google] they would say I had something to do with this missing girl and I would lose the contract. "The truth, no matter how long it is, always surfaces." WWII veteran and social media star 'Papa Jake' dies at 102

The TikTok logo hangs in the TikTok media booth near Radio Row in the days leading up to Super Bowl LVII in Phoenix, Arizona in 2023. WWII veteran and social media star "Papa Jake" Larson, who had more than 1.2 million followers on the social media platform, died Saturday at the age of 102. File photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo July 20 (UPI) -- A World War II veteran who became a social media sensation and captivated millions of people with his stories has died at the age of 102. Jake Larson, who became known as "Papa Jake," died "peacefully and was cracking jokes til the very end," her granddaughter, Mikaela Larson, said in a TikTok post Saturday. "I am so thankful to have shared my Papa Jake with you all," Makaela Larson said in her post. "When the time is right, I will continue to share Papa Jake's stories and keep his memory alive. We appreciate all the kind words and posts. As Papa would say, love you all the mostest." Jake Larson was born in Owatonna, Minn. on Dec. 20, 1922 and joined the National Guard when he was age 15 by claiming that he was 18. He was assigned to the U.S. Army's 135th Infantry Regiment in the 34th Infantry Division, known as the "Red Bull." He was deployed to Ireland during WWII, and then shipped to June 6, 1944, one of 34,000 Allied soldiers who stormed Omaha Beach during the D-Day invasion of Normandy, which was occupied by Germany. "Papa Jake" gained a worldwide following on social media with the help of his family, and later created a TikTok page with the "@storytimewithpapajake" handle, where his appeal grew to more than 1.2 million followers, and where his posts have garnered more than 11 million likes. He also has more than 16,000 YouTube subscribers. Many of his social media posts recounted his encounters on Omaha Beach, where he escaped enemy machine gun fire in addition to other recollections of fighting advancing German soldiers. "It seemed like the landing was an eternity, with all the firing going on....I can't describe it. And people would say 'Were you scared?' I was scared of stepping on a landmine, and that's what I was trying to prevent," he said in a video posted by the U.S. Army last month. "I was 5 foot 7 at that time. I weighed 120 pounds and I said, "Thank God the Germans aren't good at shooting toothpicks." At least 2,400 hundred Americans died during the Normandy invasion. "There's going to be casualties but we're willing to risk that," he said in the video. "We had to get this done. We have to relieve the world of this guy called Hitler." Larson was the recipient of a Bronze star from the U.S. Army Legion of Honor, which is France's highest honor. An interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour won an Emmy Award in June. Larson received a Bronze star from the U.S. Army and the Legion of Honor, France's highest honor. His interview on D-Day by CNN's Christiane Amanpour won an Emmy award in June.
