Netflix viewers convinced Stranger Things Season 5 has twist fans 'won't like'

Season Five of the popular Netflix series Stranger Things is set to be released in three volumes, starting from November 26 – but fans think there will be a twist they are not thrilled about
Stranger Things fans are convinced Season Five will have a twist that people 'won't like'. The final season of the hit Netflix series is set to be released in three parts, with the first volume of four episodes debuting on November 26. The second volume, with three episodes, will then be released on December 25 ahead of the series finale on December 31.
Season Four ended on July 1, 2022 with an explosive finale which saw Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) – revealed to be Dr Brenner's Number One and also known as Henry – succeed with his plan to merge the Upside Down with Hawkins. The episode also had some cliffhangers, including the fate of Max (Sadie Sink). After being killed by Vecna, Eleven – Stranger Things ' protagonist, played by Millie Bobby Brown – manages to briefly bring Max to life but is left in a coma.

Will (Noah Schnapp) can feel Vecna's presence and knows that the villain is still alive, setting the stage for a final battle in Season Five.

Fans of this show love to play detective to find any clues about upcoming series, and this one is no exception.
According to Stranger Things Hub, one fan recently resurfaced an old interview with David Harbour – who plays Jim Hopper in the series – that hints there could be a major twist in Season Five.
In the interview, he said: 'The Duffers have been building up to something big for season 5. And that many people may not like it, but it's what the Duffers feel is right.'

Stranger Things was created by Matt and Ross Duffer, known professionally as The Duffer Brothers.
Fans have been speculating what the twist could be and some believe it could relate to 'Byler', the couple name fans came up with to refer to Mike Wheeler and Will Byers.

However, The Duffer Brothers have emphasised that romance won't be a central theme in the final season.
In an interview with Collider, they said: 'It's not like there's going to be time to explore our characters' love life and how Steve's dating is going, there's gonna be none of that, it's just gonna be going like 100 miles an hour.'
Instead, fans will learn more about the Upside Down. The brothers further revealed: 'The big reveals that are coming in Season Five are really about the Upside Down itself, which we've only started to hint at.

'There was a moment in Season Four, Episode Seven that shows it's frozen in time. We teased a few more reveals in Volume Two.
'But it's all connected to Vecna, a.k.a. Henry, and his journey. What we haven't fully explained is what the Upside Down actually is.
'What is that place? Where was Vecna when he discovered the Mind Flayer? Those are the last big reveals coming in Season 5.'
Fans have reacted to the news about Season Five on X after Stranger Things Memes tweeted: 'Stranger Things 5 will have a shocking twist that fans might not like.'
One commented: 'Please don't tell me they were playing DND all this time.' Another asked: 'Is it all ending as a dnd game?'
A third predicted: 'It was all a game.' Others guessed that the big twist might be the death of one of the characters.'

UK's STV warns of annual profit miss on subdued ads market, shares plunge

July 28 (Reuters) - British digital media firm STV Group (STVG.L), opens new tab warned on Monday that annual revenue and profit would fall short of market expectations due to a worsening advertising market, sending its shares to a more than 12-year low. Shares fell over 24% - biggest percentage drop since November 2007 - to 145.4 pence. STV has two divisions, Audience, which runs commercial public service broadcaster STV and streaming service STV Player and heavily relies on advertising, and Studios, Scotland's largest TV production company which gets commissions from the likes of Netflix and BBC to produce content. A worsening macroeconomic backdrop in the UK has led to fewer funding approvals for creative projects, which has impacted the group's unscripted content, such as talk shows or documentaries, with some projects in advanced development stages not being approved and some being delayed to 2026. STV Group said its scripted labels remained strong and it was still working on projects for Netflix, Apple, Sky and the BBC, with financial expectations remaining unchanged for that segment. The company expects total advertising revenue, which makes up the lion's share of group revenue, to be down about 8% in the third quarter due to a challenging advertising market. The group expects total revenue to range between 165 million pounds and 180 million pounds ($221.50 million and $241.63 million), and an adjusted operating margin of about 7% for the year ending December 31, 2025.
