The internet is obsessed with Jack Draper at Wimbledon - A deep dive on his age, relationship status and more

Cosmopolitan2 days ago
Jack Draper is set to hit the tennis courts at Wimbledon today (Thursday 3rd July) to face former US Open champion Marin Čilić.
It's set to be a high-impact second-round showdown, with lots at stake for both Jack and Marin, who nearly won the whole thing back in 2017.
Known for his powerful left-handed shots and cool confidence on court, Jack has the full support of the home crowd behind him. He's never made it past this stage at Wimbledon before, but this year could be different...
As he takes to the court, read on for everything you need to know about Jack, including whether he's in a relationship and his life off the court, which includes modelling with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Jack Draper is a left-handed British tennis player, currently ranked as Britain's No. 1 and world No. 4 in the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) rankings.
He went pro in 2018 and has won three ATP Tour titles so far, including the prestigious Masters 1000 Indian Wells in March 2025, and reached the US Open semi‑final in 2024.
Jack Draper is 23-years-old. He was born in Sutton, Surrey, on 22nd December 2001, which makes him a Capricorn.
He grew up surrounded by tennis - his mum Nicky was a junior British champ and coached him from the age of six.
Jack's brother, Ben Draper, also played tennis, but now works as Jack's agent. Similarly, Jack's grandmother, great-uncle, mother, and dad have all played tennis at serious levels.
Jack is 6ft 4in, and is known for his seriously powerful left‑hand serve (clocked at around 138 mph) and aggressive baseline game.
In an interview, Jack revealed the diet changes he made to improve his performance, saying: "I used to take a lot of caffeine before I played, because I felt maybe sometimes with my emotions, I would feel tired before I played. The anxiety would shut me down, so my way of dealing with it was taking on a hell of a lot of caffeine.
"But I learnt that probably wasn't the best situation because I ended up becoming very wired and agitated, and I wasn't able to be present and focus on what is important. I think it was probably best that I cut it out of my life."
In a March 2025 interview with Vogue, Jack confirmed that he's single, saying the intense demands of his tennis career leave little time for relationships, although he does enjoy going on dates...
In a previous interview, he said of his professional career: "I had to be a bit more lonely and make sure I'm doing all the right things for my warm-ups, my cooldowns, keeping my body fresh, my ice baths, my gym sessions. Since last year, I've definitely put my head down a lot more and just focused on myself and what's important to me.
"It's sometimes a bit of a lonely existence, being a top tennis player. You have just got to make many sacrifices."
He sure is.
You can follow him at @jackdraper where he has just over 450k followers (as of July 2025).
Away from tennis, Jack has revealed that he wants to learn about investing his money. He's not really into partying and prefers to spend time with friends and family.
He owns a a three-bedroom apartment in southwest London, which he shares with his brother Ben and friend Jubb who he's known since junior tournaments.
In April, Jack became Burberry's new brand ambassador, posing alongside Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for the High Summer season campaign.

Raducanu frustrated by racket tension problem in Wimbledon loss to Sabalenka

LONDON (AP) — Emma Raducanu expressed frustration with having to get a couple of her rackets re-strung during her third-round loss to top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at Wimbledon on Friday. The British player let leads slip in both sets of her 7-6 (6), 6-4 loss at Centre Court with the retractable roof closed. 'I felt like the ball was flying. I had all my rackets strung up fresh for the match, and it just felt like it was pinging completely different,' Raducanu said. 'It could have been a little bit because the roof was on. I sent a couple rackets to be re-strung. 'But it takes, like, 20 minutes by the time they turn it over. Still, it was a bit difficult. So I'm frustrated with that part maybe, small details. But I don't think I could have made different choices. I think I should have just executed better.' Sabalenka agreed 'the balls were flying more,' she suspected, because of higher humidity with the roof closed. The three-time Grand Slam champion said her team typically has extra rackets ready. 'They always have like two extra rackets with the higher tension and two extra rackets with lower tension. They prepare it. You don't have to wait for another racket,' Sabalenka said. Sabalenka said she lost in the 2023 French Open semifinals to Karolina Muchova 'because I didn't have racket' with the right tension. 'We weren't prepared. I didn't have a right tension. I had to play with a lower tension. I didn't control the ball, didn't feel well,' she said. 'After that experience,' she continued, 'we learned it's four extra rackets in my team's bag just in case. You never know. You can wake up and feel great with one tension. Another day you wake up and you don't feel at all. You got to be prepared.' ___ AP tennis:

Emma Raducanu tipped for a top-10 return after running Aryna Sabalenka close

Emma Raducanu came up just short on an electrifying night on Centre Court before being tipped to return to the top 10 by opponent Aryna Sabalenka. Raducanu reminded the tennis world what a special talent she is to push the top seed in a 7-6 (6) 6-4 defeat under the roof in a raucous atmosphere. Advertisement The first set alone took 74 minutes, with Raducanu saving seven set points and creating one of her own, while she led 4-1 in the second before Sabalenka recovered to set up a fourth-round clash with Elise Mertens. Emma Raducanu produced an impressive display but could not down Aryna Sabalenka (Adam Davy/PA) Raducanu will now drop to British number three behind Katie Boulter and Sonay Kartal, who is the last home woman left in singles, but that will not be the case for long if she can maintain this level. The former US Open champion has made it her goal to close the gap to the world's best and, having lost twice heavily to Iga Swiatek in the other two grand slams this year, she can feel very differently after her performance here. Advertisement 'She played such incredible tennis and she pushed me really hard to get this win,' said Sabalenka. 'I fight for every point like crazy. 'I'm super happy to see her healthy and back on track. I'm pretty sure that she will be back in the top 10 soon.' For the second time in just over 24 hours, a leading British hope came into the press room with eyes red from tears, but, unlike Jack Draper, Raducanu will leave Wimbledon feeling she is closer to the very top rather than further away. 'It's hard to take a loss like that,' said Raducanu, who revealed she had sought solace in a locker room KitKat. 'At the same time, I'm playing Aryna, who is number one in the world, a great champion. I have to be proud of my effort today. Advertisement 'It's nice of her to say that, but I think it was pretty clear the difference. In the big moments, she was able to convert, she was able to hit some incredible shots. I just need to keep working and get back to the drawing board and improve a lot more. 'It does give me confidence because I think the problem before was that I felt like I was gulfs away from the very top. Having a match like that where I had chances in both sets, it does give me confidence.' Emma Raducanu had Centre Court fired up (Adam Davy/PA) Unlike Draper, Raducanu is naturally at home on grass, with her exceptional ability to take the ball early, particularly on return, mitigating her lack of pure power. Advertisement She gave Sabalenka a decent run for her money in their only previous meeting, in Indian Wells last spring, and a clean return winner off a second serve in the opening game showed the Belarusian that she very much meant business. Raducanu broke to lead 4-2 before ceding her advantage in a rush of errors – something she later blamed on problems with string tension in the indoor conditions. A remarkable 10th game saw Sabalenka fail to take seven set points, six of them through backhand errors, and the home crowd were on their feet when Raducanu broke to lead 6-5. Aryna Sabalenka overcame a battling Emma Raducanu (John Walton/PA) But Sabalenka is a much stronger mental competitor these days and she played a classy game to break back before saving a set point in the tie-break with the coolest of drop shots. Advertisement Raducanu dealt with the disappointment of losing the set extremely well and hit a purple patch to move into a 4-1 lead. She played her best tennis of the match to create a chance for the double break but just missed a forehand long, giving Sabalenka the chink of light she needed to power through to the next round. 'I don't think I could have made different choices, I think I should have just executed better,' added Raducanu, who will now turn her attention to the North American hard court swing. 'I'll probably find it tough to sleep tonight, or I'll be so exhausted and crash, I don't know. It's going to take me a few days to process that. But at the same time it really motivates me.'

Wimbledon: No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka holds off home favorite Emma Raducanu at Centre Court

LONDON -- Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka staved off an upset bid by resurgent Emma Raducanu at Wimbledon by beating the home favorite 7-6 (6), 6-4 in the third-round at a raucous Centre Court on Friday night. Sabalenka, a two-time semifinalist at the All England Club, fought back in both sets against the the 2021 U.S. Open champion, who had been playing some of her best tennis since her title run at Flushing Meadows as a qualifier at age 18. In a 74-minute first set, Sabalenka converted her eighth set point, which came 30 minutes after the first. Raducanu went up 4-2, only to see Sabalenka reel off 11 of 12 points during one stretch while moving out front by a 5-4 score. Then arrived an epic game, lasting 13 minutes and containing 22 points, eight deuces, and seven set points for Sabalenka — all ending with Raducanu holding serve. Then, Raducanu had a set point while leading 6-5 in the tiebreaker, but Sabalenka saved it with a drop-shot winner and took the last three points of the set — ending it with a volley winner. The fans provided extra energy for the British player, cheering wildly when Raducanu fired winners and exhaling 'aww!' when she missed. Sabalenka, a three-time Grand Slam champion, said she pretended the cheers were for her. 'Guys wow — what an atmosphere. My ears are still hurting. It was super loud,' she said in an on-court interview. In the second set, Raducanu broke to 3-1 and led 4-1 at the 1-hour, 35-minute mark, but Sabalenka reeled off the last five games. Raducanu, ranked No. 40, had defeated 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in the previous round. 'She pushed me really hard to get this win. I'm happy to see her healthy and back on track,' Sabalenka said. 'I'm pretty sure that soon she's going to be back in the top 10.' Sabalenka reached the final at each of the past three Grand Slam tournaments, winning the U.S. Open last September and finishing as the runner-up to Madison Keys at the Australian Open in January and to Coco Gauff at the French Open in June.
