Four killed in road mishap in Hisar
The deceased have been identified as Raju, a resident of Rajli village and Ram Mehar Punia, 27, Praveen Bhadu, 28, and Ravinder Sharma, 24; all residents of Kirori village in Hisar. Raju was Ram Mehar's brother-in-law. Except Praveen, all of them were married and they were unemployed.
According to police officials, the incident took place around 1 am on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday when a truck loaded with fertiliser was going towards Agroha from Barwala on a single road with no divider when the Creta came from the opposite side and both the vehicles collided near Nangthala village.
'Raju had gone to give Kothli (sweets box given to sister in the month of Sawan) to his sister at her in-laws house in Kirori village. From there, he along with his brother-in-law Ram Mehar and two others were returning to his village Rajli on Sunday night. The incident was so severe that police had to cut out the doors of the car to take out bodies. The car was damaged badly,' he added.
He further said that the bodies were sent to Maharaja Agrasen Medical College in Agroha and an investigation has been initiated in the case, adding the truck driver has been booked for rash driving and causing death due to negligence.

Chandigarh: Three miscreants have been arrested for robbing a fruit seller of his purse containing cash and other documents at knifepoint in Ramdarbar. The police had filed a case based on the statement of the victim. These three accused were calling each other by their names, and one of the accused, Sawan, took out a knife and pointed it at Lalu's neck. Habru held his hands, and Shubham took out his purse containing cash around 12,000, an Aadhar card, and other documents, and fled from the spot. Lalu informed the police about the incident, and officers from the Sector-31 police station reached the spot. Police recorded the statements of the victims and started an investigation. During the course of the investigation, police arrested all three accused and claimed to have recovered the snatched documents, ATM card, and one knife from the possession of the accused. Police said all the accused have a criminal record. The accused Sawan is already booked in five cases of rioting, attempted murder, robbery, and assault, while the accused Shubham was booked in three cases of burglary, POCSO Act, and theft. 2 dead, as many missing as boat capsizes in Ganga
Dumka: Two men were killed, and two others went missing after a boat carrying 31 people capsized on the Ganges in Sahibganj district on Saturday morning. The diesel-powered boat, locals said, left the ghat at Gadai Diyara for Maharajpur Ghat on the other side and capsized in the middle of the river around 7 am. When the incident happened, 27 people managed to swim out of the river but four went missing. During a rescue operation, launched soon after, only one body was found initially. Of the two deceased, one was identified as Raju Murmu, a resident of Mukhup village under Ranga police station limits of the district. The 25-year-old was a part of a group of 17 men from the village who reached Gadai Diyara under Rajmahal subdivision on the rented boat to hunt mice. The other deceased, whose body was recovered in the evening, was identified as Krishna Soren alias Kisnu, a resident of the same village. The missing men were Kaha Hansda and Shyam Baski, both in their late twenties. Talking to TOI, Sahibganj deputy commissioner Hemant Sati confirmed the death. "Raju was taken to sadar hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. Two others are still missing. An NDRF team from Bihta (in Patna) has been requisitioned to carry out rescue operations," he said. "The NDRF team will be stationed in the district until the flood is over," Sati added. Narrating their ordeal, one of the survivors said, "The boat was overcrowded. Due to heavy rain, the river's water was swelling, and the current was strong. The boat was suddenly tossed up and overturned while hitting the water again." As the news broke, relatives of the missing people gathered at the Maharajor Ghat. "Raju and his friends planned to catch mice which come out of their burrows at this time of the year as rainwater floods their nests," Suraj Murmu, the father of the deceased, said. A performer lost control and was thrown off his motorcycle mid-act. The bike, however, didn't stop. In a bizarre twist, it kept circling the cylindrical structure on its own for nearly an hour, drawing gasps from the crowd. The mishap occurred in the Itahia area under Thuthibari Kotwali police limits, where the temple fair is being held as part of the Sawan festivities. A video of the moment has since gone viral, capturing the riderless motorcycle racing along the vertical walls while spectators watched in disbelief.
