Three goals while facing the stiff first-half wind were worth their weight in gold to Blackwater as Brian Curran's charges held out against Tara Rocks in Saturday's The Courtyard Ferns Intermediate hurling championship Group A duel in a scorching Samaritans St. Patrick's Park.
Tomás Murphy netted a double after Pad O'Connor had cracked open the first major to help the seasiders to a more than satisfactory 3-7 to 0-15 interval advantage, and they matched the 2021 Intermediate 'A' champions thereafter to shade matters.
