ASML's orders in the second quarter beat estimates after the artificial intelligence boom drove demand for its chip-making machines. The Dutch company that counts both TSMC and Intel among its customers, reported order bookings of 5.5 billion ($6.4 billion) in the period, against an average estimate of 4.8 billion by analysts in data compiled by Bloomberg. Reju and Circle-8 Textile Ecosystems Partner to Further Large-Scale Textile Recycling in the U.K.

PARIS, July 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Reju™, the progressive textile-to-textile regeneration company, and Circle-8 Textile Ecosystems, a key builder of ecosystems and infrastructures unlocking textile-to-textile recycling, today announced a partnership to further facilitate a circular textiles ecosystem in the U.K. Circle-8 will furnish Reju's future European Regeneration Hubs with feedstock supply from post-consumer textile waste processed through its' first digitized Automated Textile Sorting and Preprocessing (ATSP) facility, as a step to a network of industrial scale facilities Reju will then leverage the feedstock for production of its regenerated Reju Polyester™, that will have a 50% lower carbon footprint compared to virgin polyester and can be regenerated infinitely. "Working with Circle-8's growing ecosystem and ATSP enables us to elevate the efficiency of the textile recycling process, making it easier and more precise, resulting in a premium product meeting the high Reju standard for polyester," said Patrik Frisk, CEO of Reju. "As more consumers and clothing producers become aware of the importance of keeping textiles out of landfills, it is critical to have automated, streamlined processes and facilities in the places where the textile waste is." The partnership between Reju and Circle-8 will contribute to building UK infrastructure for materials processing and establishing partnerships for a fully transparent and viable fibre-to-fibre ecosystem. The agreement is set to lead UK brands and retailers to transition to a circular textile industry. With Circle-8 providing pre-sorted and pre-processed feedstock at a large scale for Reju's proprietary regeneration technology, this partnership ensures efficiency, accuracy and scalability for the upwards of 700,000 tonnes of non-reusable textile waste generated in the UK every year. "Reju and Circle-8 share an unwavering commitment to unlocking true indefinite textile-to-textile recycling here in the UK and around the globe," said Cyndi Rhoades, co-founder and CEO at Circle-8. "This partnership highlights the importance of cooperation and innovation in turning textile waste into resource. With global regulatory bodies enacting coordinated efforts addressing the issue, Reju and Circle-8 are dedicated to scalable solutions meeting regulatory demands and achieving a more sustainable future." About Circle-8 Textile EcosystemsThe future of materials is not extraction. It's circulation. Circle-8 is advancing the new circular textiles industry by building the ecosystem and infrastructure to unlock textile-to-textile recycling. We are driving the design, build and commissioning of a network of automated textile sorting and pre-processing facilities to turn non-reusable textiles into feedstock for fibre-to-fibre recycling processes. Our end goal is to implement industrial-scale polymer recycling plants for textiles in the UK. We are growing the partnerships needed across the textiles value chain, working to divert the UK's estimated yearly 700,000 tonnes of non-reusable textiles away from export, landfill and incineration to make this circular future a reality. About RejuReju is a materials regeneration company focused on creating innovative solutions for regenerating polyester textiles and PET waste. Owned by Technip Energies and utilizing technology originating with IBM research, Reju aims to establish a global textile recycling circular ecosystem to address PET plastic found in textiles. Report: Liverpool enter talks over £85m-rated forward amid Newcastle interest

Liverpool Target Hugo Ekitike Amid Rival Newcastle Interest Reds Launch Talks with Eintracht Frankfurt Liverpool have officially opened discussions with Eintracht Frankfurt for French striker Hugo Ekitike, as reported by Sky Sports News. The Merseyside club's move comes hot on the heels of Newcastle United's rejected £70m bid for the 23-year-old, signalling the start of what could be a fierce transfer battle. The Reds have turned their attention to Ekitike after being informed that Newcastle's Alexander Isak is not for sale this summer. Sky Sports News confirmed: 'Liverpool have moved for Ekitike after being told Alexander Isak is not for sale in this window.' The Swedish international has long been admired by the Anfield hierarchy, but Newcastle have placed a minimum £150m valuation on their star man, effectively closing the door on any summer approach. Ekitike's Bundesliga Rise and Transfer Price Ekitike has had a well-travelled journey, initially rejecting a Premier League move to Newcastle in 2022 in favour of Paris Saint-Germain. But after limited opportunities in France, he was sold to Frankfurt for £14m last summer. Now, after just one season in Germany, Frankfurt have rebuffed Newcastle's latest £70m offer, with the Bundesliga side reportedly holding out for £85m. 'Sky Sports News reported on Tuesday that Frankfurt rejected Newcastle's formal £70m bid for Ekitike, with the Bundesliga club valuing the striker at £85m.' Newcastle, for their part, remain in the hunt, having held talks with Ekitike's representatives in Austria on Monday. Their continued interest highlights just how highly the forward is regarded, and Liverpool's entry into the race could complicate things for Eddie Howe's side. Market Dynamics Could Dictate Ekitike's Future With Ekitike valued at £85m, the decision now lies with Liverpool's recruitment team. Are they willing to meet Frankfurt's asking price? Or will Newcastle, stung by their 2022 rejection, push harder to finally secure the player? Photo IMAGO As Sky Sports News rightly highlights, 'The Reds have been scoping out the market all summer for possible centre-forward options, establishing availability and price,' and Ekitike's profile ticks many of the right boxes for a modern Liverpool No.9 Our View – EPL Index Analysis From a Liverpool fan's perspective, this interest in Hugo Ekitike could be seen as a promising yet calculated gamble. At just 23, the Frenchman offers a blend of youth, athleticism, and technical skill, all of which suit Arne Slot's system. However, shelling out £85m for a player who struggled for minutes at PSG and only has two full Bundesliga campaign under his belt might raise some eyebrows. The comparison to Alexander Isak is inevitable. While Isak has proven his pedigree in the Premier League with Newcastle, Ekitike is still a work in progress. That said, Liverpool have had success with forwards arriving from less-hyped backgrounds before — think of the early days of Diogo Jota or even Sadio Mané. There's also a strategic dimension to this move. Blocking a key target for Newcastle, who are direct top-four rivals, makes competitive sense. But the Reds must avoid being drawn into a bidding war unless Ekitike is truly viewed as a long-term successor to Darwin Núñez or part of a tactical reshuffle. Ultimately, if Liverpool's recruitment team see the same high ceiling Frankfurt clearly do — and if they can negotiate a fee below £85m — Ekitike could be a smart addition to the squad. The risk lies in the price tag and expectation, but the potential upside? Huge.
