Sainsbury's making major change to Nectar loyalty scheme from today

Your Nectar Prices is now available at checkouts nationwide - so this means it will be easier for supermarket shoppers to save money in store Sainsbury's is making a major change to its Nectar loyalty scheme from today. ‌ Your Nectar Prices is now available at checkouts nationwide - so this means it will be easier for supermarket shoppers to save money in store. Your Nectar Prices are personalised discounts based on your shopping habits. ‌ You get up to ten discounts every week. Previously, shoppers could only access Your Nectar Prices through SmartShop, the Sainsbury's grocery app, or online. Sainsbury's claims these offers could save the average shopper £150. ‌ Mark Given, chief marketing, data and sustainability officer at Sainsbury's, said: "We're leading the way by making loyalty personal. Shoppers want to feel recognised and rewarded and while Nectar Prices are for everyone, we know our customers love an offer that is made just for them. "That's exactly what Your Nectar Prices delivers – it's about giving customers those extra savings on the products they love and buy most." ‌ You get one Nectar point for every £1 you spend in stores, with one Nectar point worth 0.5p in return. This means if you earn one point from a purchase it's the equivalent of 0.5% cashback. You also get Nectar points when you fill up in a Sainsbury's fuel station, or at other brands like eBay, Expedia and Just Eat. It comes after Sainsbury's confirmed it has closed all its in-store changing rooms - meaning shoppers need to try on items from its TU clothing range at home. ‌ One shopper said: 'Please put back changing rooms! At least one! I went into a Sainsbury's the other day & me & another lady were doin [sic] our best in front of a mirror on the shop floor. Couldn't try trousers on so didn't bother buying them.' Another said: 'Why on earth do you have a clothing department but no changing rooms? A staff member has just told me they have been removed from all stores?' A third person added: 'What is the point selling clothes if you shut the changing rooms. First Kingsgate and now Hamilton. What a waste of my time.' Another posted: 'Why have you got rid of changing rooms? I don't want to have to buy 6 pairs of jeans to have to return 5.' Sainsbury's closed its remaining 61 in-store cafes in April. The supermarket had previously warned that tax increases from the October Budget would hit it with an extra £140million in costs and lead to higher prices for customers.

These are officially the best islands in the world to visit in 2025

Soft, sandy shores, palm leaves swaying in the wind, crystal waters and a cocktail in hand. There's not much to complain about being island-bound, is there? Okay, while not all islands fit that description (news flash: some are cold!), these isolated bits of land feel like a true escape from reality. Each of the planet's many islands has its own appeal and history – so which is the one for you? Travel booking site Expedia has looked into its own travel data, alongside stuff like accessibility, inclusivity, weather, safety, accommodation rates, traveller reviews and more to compile its first-ever Expedia Island Hot List, a glorious list of sea-surrounded havens that accommodate any kind of visitor. So, where do they recommend? On the list for adventurous types is the Dominican Republic, the second-largest island in the Caribbean. The DR is packed with adrenaline-boosting activities like ziplining, canyoning, horseback riding and buggying through the wild. We'd recommend a hike through the forest to the 27 Charcos of Damajagua, a series of 27 waterfalls that you can jump and slide off of. For the complete opposite kind of vibe, Bali tops the list as the best island for relaxation. Think eco-friendly beach clubs with seaside lounges, neighbourhoods surrounded by rich rice fields, elevated coffee shops (literally, Akasa Coffee is a hill) with picture-perfect mountain views, yoga and wellness retreats and sea-bound temples. Take relaxation to the max by booking a Balinese massage. Then, take massages to the max by booking at Senses Spa in Jimbaran for a rub down right by the ocean, with the waves as your soundtrack. As for nightlife, hop over to Páros in Greece, crowned this year's world's best island by Travel + Leisure. You'll find a coastline of bars in the island's main town, Parikia, as well as dozens of scenic restaurants, clubs and cocktail bars in the town of Naoussa. Cocktail bar i tria sits in the heart of Naoussa with colourful, fine-lined artwork on the walls, tasty nibbles and boozy cocktails. When pre-gaming is over, head to Linardo, with its pink front door and matching blossom tree. These are the best islands in the world to visit in 2025, according to Expedia Aruba (Best for Year-Round Sunshine) Bali, Indonesia (Best for Relaxation) Dominican Republic (Best for Adventure) Fiji (Best for Community) Jamaica (Best for Culture) Koh Samui, Thailand (Best for Affordable Luxury) Maldives (Best for Romance) Oahu, Hawaii (Best for Surfing) Paros, Greece (Best for Nightlife) Sardinia, Italy (Best for Food Lovers) Did you see these European islands that have avoided overtourism?

Online travel agency, Expedia, has formed its 'Hot List' for islands across the world, judging them on standout stays, affordability, flights and appeal - and there's one in particular that's very familiar to readers. The Greek paradise was declared best in the world by Travel + Leisure - and has made it onto Expedia's Island Hot List too. Paros forms part of the Cyclades Islands surrounded by the likes of Naxos, Milos and Antiparos. We spoke to one holidaymaker who went to Paros recently, where she discovered beautiful beaches, traditional villages and a buzzing nightlife. She also raved about the delicious seafood, hidden clubs and party boats. Also on the list is Italy's Sardinia, which Expedia said boasts a "rugged coastline and hilltop villages." Sardinia is a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea, and there's almost no end to the beaches as it has over 1,000 miles worth of coastline. The standout island has attracted lots of holidaymakers over the years, including celebrities like George Clooney and Beyonce. One visitor discovered sun-drenched beaches where waiters deliver cocktails directly to sunbeds. On the island is even a little-known beach that has been compared to the Sahara Desert. I found the perfect adults-only hotel for an all-inclusive Greek island holiday 7 Sardinia is one of the top islands - and the closest on the list from the UK Credit: Alamy 7 Aruba is on the hot list too and has incredible beaches Credit: Alamy Found on the west coast of the Costa Verde coastline of the island is a beach called Spiaggia di Piscinas that has soft golden sands, clear blue waters. It's where you'll find some huge dunes that look like they belong in the desert, and they rise up to heights of 60 metres. These dunes are the reason it has been nicknamed 'Little Sahara of Italy'. Also on the list was Aruba, which was also recently revealed to be the safest island in the Caribbean Sea. Scoring 90 out of 100 - compared to the lowest being 34 for Puerto Rico - it is ranked one of the safest across the islands. Not only that, it's known by locals as 'One Happy Island'. It's not really a surprise because the island gets highs of 30C even in winter. The island is much drier than others that surround it as it sits just outside of the hurricane belt. Aruba is famous for having white sand beaches, and being home to Flamingo Beach where you can see the famous pink birds relaxing in shallow waters. 7 Koh Samui is the second largest island in Thailand Credit: Alamy 7 The island is known for the coastline and vibrant nightlife Credit: Alamy Koh Samui, Thailand's second largest island also found a place on the Island Hot List. It's known for having incredible beaches, huge temples and vibrant nightlife. Thanks to a very well-known TV series, White Lotus, Koh Samui is even more on the map. The island also has an annual festival called Songkran which is a three-day celebration where people are armed with water pistols. The festival traditionally runs April 13-15, which just happens to be during Thailand's hottest season. One writer checked it out for herself and had an absolute blast. Expedia also found a rising interest in other islands, particularly for Brits like Jersey, Crete, Malta and Madeira. Plus, here are 20 of Europe's most beautiful islands that all have direct flights from the UK. And check out the cheeky 48-hour holidays to Europe's best cities, beach towns and islands this summer from £167.
