Haim suffer sound issues during Glastonbury set as fans praise 'born headliners'

Haim performed a secret set at Glastonbury on Saturday much to the delight of their fans, but they had dropped a big hint about their appearance weeks earlier Haim took to the Glastonbury stage to perform a secret set but had been dropping hints of their appearance. Fans were loving the low-key performance on Saturday. However, a few minutes in the girl group suffered some sound issues with their microphones before things were corrected and they carried on with their exciting set. Fans loved seeing them on stage. ‌ "The irony that the best TBAs Lewis Capaldi, Pulp & Haim all brilliant and could easily have headlined! #Glastonbury #Glastonbury2025 #glastonburyfestival @glastonbury," one wrote, whilst another added: "haim have such a huge crowd my girllsss #Glastonbury." A third penned: "HAIM will forever have my heart #Glastonbury." ‌ During their set, fans were heard shouting 'louder louder' as music nearby was drowning their sound out. The American rock band, made up of sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim, returned to Worthy Farm for the first time since 2022. There, they took to the Pyramid Stage. However, their set on the The Park stage this time out was well received after they had previously labelled it their favourite stage. Two weeks ago while speaking to radio presenter Jo Whiley, the band teased their fans about the not so secret slot. Alana said: "We love The Park Stage. The Park Stage is our favourite, 'cause that was like the first time we came to Glastonbury, we got to play The Park Stage. It felt like a movie." She added: "It was like, 'What is going on? How did we get here?' And also just like… you never forget the first time you step onto the farm. And it's the most insane feeling, I think, that you'll ever have. But it was incredible, it's the best festival in the world." ‌ On Friday Lewis Capaldi stunned fans with a surprise performance. His appearance came two years after the Scottish singer last performed at the festival. Back then the he found it heard struggled to finish his set. His voice faltered as he told the crowd: "Glastonbury, I'm really sorry. I'm a bit annoyed with myself." The crowd soon took over the vocals of his hit Someone You Loved. Announcing he was taking a break from music to focus on his health, Lewis - who suffers from Tourette's and anxiety - told fans at the time: "I feel like I'll be taking another wee break over the next couple of weeks. So you probably won't see much of me for the rest of the year, maybe even. But when I do come back and when I do see you, I hope you're still up for watching us." And his return was met huge appreciation from fans and famous faces alike. Lewis cried as he began to sing his new song Survive, which he released on the eve of his performance. He revealed his sole goal was to get back on stage at Glastonbury as he paid tribute to the fans who had supported him.

Marilyn Manson's Brighton concert cancelled following campaign

The first UK concert of rock star Marilyn Manson's tour has been cancelled after pressure from campaigners and an MP. The first leg of his One Assassination Under God Tour had been set to kick off at Brighton Centre on October 29. On Saturday, fans who go online to contact Ticketmaster receive a message saying: 'This event has been cancelled. 'Ticket sales have stopped, but there may be tickets available for other dates.' In January, prosecutors in the US said they would not file charges against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, after long-running investigation into allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said the allegations were too old under the law and the evidence is not sufficient to charge the 56-year-old shock rocker. LA County sheriff's detectives had said early in 2021 that they were investigating Manson over alleged incidents between 2009 and 2011 in West Hollywood, where Manson lived at the time. Earlier this month in an open letter to the Brighton and Hove city council leader Bella Sankey, Sian Berry, the Green MP for Brighton Pavilion, called for the October concert to be cancelled. In the letter, which was co-signed by some victim support groups and the University of Sussex students' union, she wrote: 'Many survivors in Brighton and Hove, and organisations supporting them, will have serious concerns about this booking and its wider impact on other people visiting the city centre, local residents and the wider community.' The letter, which was posted online, prompted a flood of responses from the public pointing out that Manson had not been found guilty of allegations against him and that a four-year investigation did not lead to charges.

Watch: Glastonbury crowd chant ‘death to the IDF'

Is this year's Glastonbury line-up the worst ever? There's Kneecap, of course: those tough-talking IRA cheerleaders who simply LOVE revelling in the imagery of terrorist violence, right up until the point it risks costing a British state grant – or actually serving some jail time. But it seems they now have some fierce competition in the moron stakes from Bob Vylan, an English punk duo. Their music (predictably) focuses on being black in the UK and how terribly tough it is to live in one of the most prosperous, peaceful and established democracies on Earth. So with all their penetrating insight and profoundly original thought, it is no surprise that they brought their Socratic wit to the Glastonbury stage today when they entertained the crowd with their musings on the Middle East. 'Death, death to the IDF' and 'From the river to the sea' were just some of the duo's chants as they gyrated around the stage. Already it has got Tory MPs asking why the BBC chose to broadcast the performance, while others are citing it as proof of Glasto's problems with Jews. Lisa Nandy has certainly come out blazing, with her spokesman telling the Telegraph: The Culture Secretary has spoken to the BBC director-general to seek an urgent explanation about what due diligence it carried out ahead of the Bob Vylan performance, and welcomes the decision not to re-broadcast it on BBC iPlayer. So much for all that talk about love eh?
