Revealed: The VERY swanky dishes dined on at David Beckham's star-studded 50th birthday party

Daily Mail04-05-2025
's 50th birthday party was certainly one to remember - with a host of star-studded guests all enjoying a delectable meal.
Last night, the former England captain hosted a glamorous dinner party at swanky Notting Hill London restaurant Core by Clare Smyth, which has no less than three Michelin stars.
Footballer David has already celebrated with a black tie pre-birthday bash in Miami, a family gathering at his £10million home in the Cotswolds and a family lunch in Paris.
And the bash on Saturday night was no less glamorous - as Northern Irish chef Clare, 46, who credits Gordon Ramsay with helping her to break into the industry, also boasts having catered for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 's wedding in 2018.
Guests gathered at Core, which first opened in 2017 just months after Clare left her post at Gordon Ramsay's eatery, a fine-dining restaurant that focuses on 'natural, sustainable food'.
The seven course menus start at £420 a head including the addition of a wine pairing, which adds £165 to each bill.
The glamorous eatery serves three different menus, Core Seasons, priced at £265 per person, Core Classics costing £255 and the A La Carte option for £225 dinner service.
Yesterday, the Instagram account for Core by Clare shared a number of snaps of posh looking grub which may have been served at the Beckham party last night.
The star-studded chef put on a delectable spread for the Beckham's A-lister guests, treating them to a selection of dishes, designed with seasonality and sustainability in mind.
These included a scallop tartare with sea vegetable consommé served elegantly in shell and perched over the top of a wreath of florals.
Elsewhere on Core's popular Classics menu is a secondary course consisting of potatoes, seaweed infused dulse beurre blanc sauce, herring and trout roe.
The menu also includes a roasted cod dish, which is served with Morecambe bay shrimps, Swiss chard and brown butter.
Another dish consisting of Norfolk purple-top turnip, walnut, brassica leaves and nutmeg follows next, quickly succeeded by a portion of Herdwick lamb served with asparagus, peas and mint sauce.
To complete the seven course meal, the eatery serves two sweet dishes - one which includes apple with toffee and Somerset cider brandy, and finally a wild strawberry dish served onto a bed of meringue and lemon verbena.
Other dishes served on the Seasonal menu at the reputable venue include a langoustine with wasabi pea rose geranium and almond, as well as a Cornish turbot smoked mussels, red apple, cabbage and cider.
Gordon Ramsay cut a dapper figure in a white tuxedo, while his wife Tana wowed in a pale blue satin dress as they arrived to celebrate their close pal David
The Seasonal option - which is the most expensive tasting experience - also serves Merrifield farm duck morels, wild garlic and chaga sauce, as well as a Crispy veal sweetbread served with honey, mustard and Norfolk kohlrabi.
Last night, the father-of-four was surrounded by family, including his wife Victoria was by his side for the star-studded event, alongside their kids, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and 13-year-old Harper.
Seated alongside the Beckham's were a number of high profile guests, including Tom Cruise, close friends, Gordon and Tanya Ramsay, Eva Longoria and Gary Neville.
Missing from the extensive swathe of party goers were David's son, Brooklyn, 26, and his wife, Nicola, 30, who reportedly flew back to the US on Saturday before the party kicked off, after reports of 'a growing rift' between the oldest Beckham child and his parents.
Guests last night were treated a party packed with decadent food prepared by the Michelin star chef, Clare Smyth.
Clare Symth has won dozens of awards over the course of career, becoming the first woman to hold three Michelin stars when she presided over Gordon Ramsay's restaurant on Royal Hospital Road.
Of the 121 British Michelin-starred restaurants at the time of her appointment, only seven had female head chefs.
Clare, who received the accolade at the World's 50 Best Restaurants gala was also given the honour of being the chef to cater for Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018.

She previously described catering for the California-based couple's evening reception at Frogmore House as a 'surreal' experience.
'The fairytale story was my lasting memory from the wedding,' she told Hello!. 'It couldn't have been more perfect... it was completely surreal.'
The Michelin chef described the couple as 'just brilliant'.
'They were involved in the menu, it was very important to them... it's a once in a lifetime thing so it's nice to be a part in it,' she told the magazine.
Clare is believed to have prepared an organic menu that included posh burgers with Wagyu beef and pork belly for guests invited to the Frogmore House reception following Harry and Meghan's spectacular ceremony in 2018.
Her restaurant, Core, earned three Michelin stars in the 2021, having received two stars in 2018.
Speaking in a 2023 documentary on Channel 5, private club Mosimann's Managing Director Mark, whose family has provided bespoke catering services for several royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, described how Meghan and Harry worked with chef Clare Smyth to create a bespoke menu for their wedding.
There were even some Port Wine Gums made made with Taylor's 1984 port from Harry's christening on offer.
'They were some of Meghan's favourite dishes from the restaurant,' he told the programme.
'So they had a potato and roe starter, they had roast chicken for main course, and they had a strawberry and lemon verbena for dessert.'
Details from inside the evening celebrations at t Frogmore House revealed that guests – including George and Amal Clooney and Sir Elton John – spent the evening sipping bespoke cocktails, tucking into 'dirty burgers' and candyfloss from outdoor stalls and dancing to a trendy DJ.

David Attenborough's shock BBC series on animal parenting has filming firsts

From orcas who drown blue whales and a mother spider who gets eaten by her children, prepare to be astonished by the filming firsts The extraordinary lengths that some animals go to in order to protect their young are highlighted in Sir David Attenborough 's new BBC1 series Parenthood. ‌ For some species this means teaching their offspring how to hunt, for others it means raising their young in their mouths or even sacrificing themselves to ensure that the next generation thrives. Filmed over three years across 23 countries in six continents, Parenthood showcases never-before-seen animal behaviours in 6K ultra high definition. ‌ The five-part series contains stories about animal behaviour that has never been caught on camera before and explores the heart-warming dedication, astonishing ingenuity and remarkable patience of animal parents across the natural world. It comes after Prince William was given a stark warning from 'appalled' David Attenborough on a pressing issu e. ‌ Producer and director Jeff Wilson says: 'Many of these very intimate behaviours are very difficult to film. When you see the behaviours come to life on screen, I think it gives you a new appreciation of the investment and commitment of many parents.' African social spider: The story follows a mother spider in Namibia who raises 30 offspring alongside her 50 sisters in a huge nest - and eventually sacrifices her own body to feed her young in an act called matriphagy. This is the first time this story has been captured in full for a documentary. ‌ Sir David says that the health of the mother spider starts deteriorating from the moment she lays her eggs.'The demands of parenthood are taking their toll,' he says. As she prepares to make the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the survival of the next generation, her struggling mimics the vibrations of a distressed insect prey. 'The hungry spiderlings descend en masse to their mother's dinner table one last time - only this time, she's the main course,' he says. And once they've eaten her, they turn their attention to their aunties. 'They eat every adult in the colony, one by one.' Iberian Lynx: The Iberian Lynx is the rarest species in the documentary and one mother is filmed raising her kittens in a disused barn in souther Spain. ‌ Once on the brink of extinction, the recovery of the Iberian Lynx in the region is a remarkable success story and shows how humans can help animal parents thrive in the face of enormous challenges. In the barn, three generations of lynx are raising their young together. Sir David explains: 'This was only possible because farmers changed their practice to suit the needs of the native wild animals. Quicker than anyone imagined, the native animals moved back - prey first, then predators. 'We're beginning to understand that it's possible to use our world for our needs while also providing for wild animals.' ‌ Banggai Cardinal Fish: In coral reefs, where space is limited, creatures must be creative to find homes for their young. In Indonesia, a dedicated banggai cardinalfish father overcomes this problem by raising his young inside his mouth. This means he must go for a whole month without eating himself. 'Starvation, however, is the least of his worries,' Sir David says, because predators are lying in wait to try and eat his baby hatchlings. Somehow he has to negotiate a way to move from the safety of a sea urchin to the looser tentacles of an anemone - happily sharing his new home with a clown fish who looks just like Disney's Nemo. Once there, some of the babies seem unwilling to leave the safety of his mouth, Sir David notes, so the father gives them 'a little encouragement' in the form of a watery cough. 'His 30 days of fasting have given them an excellent start in life.' ‌ Killer whales: Few species are more inventive in their search for food than killer whales, who are seen off the coast of West Australia indulging in some never before filmed 'practice hunting' behaviour. Led by the grandmother matriarch, who can live into her 80s, members of one orca family work together to submerge the head of another group member to practice stopping it from breathing. This technique is then used for real when the granny orca spots a blue whale who is alone and a prime target. 'Working as a team, the orca keep their victim's blowhole beneath the surface, exactly as they've been taught,' Sir David says. ‌ Orca have only recently been discovered to hunt blue whales - the largest animals that have ever lived - in response, it is thought, to changes in their ocean home. Tri Tri Goby fish: In a Caribbean river, a Tri Tri Goby harnesses the currents to oxygenate the eggs about to be laid by the female. In a perfect nursery pool he selects pebbles to create the ideal protection for her, but a once-in-a-lifetime storm sweeps him and everything he's built downstream. The determined wannabe dad - he's not called Tri Tri for nothing - must climb 300m of waterfalls if he is to get back to the pool and have another chance at parenthood. Sir David notes that he is 'much bulkier' than when he did it as a youngster and that 'juveniles with boundless energy' dart past somehow he gets there, and sets about starting over. This is the first time a Tri Tri Goby fish has been filmed transferring rocks to build a nest tunnel for his young.

Olivia Attwood lands another TV job as she's set to front brand new show

Former Love Islander Olivia Attwood has bagged herself another presenting job as her TV career goes from strength to strength - this time working with a Michelin star chef on a reality show Loose Women panellist Olivia Attwood will host a brand reality TV show, which will see contestants go head to head for their dream job in a Michelin star restaurant. Olivia has bagged herself a job as the presenter of The Heat, where 10 chefs will compete to work for Jean-Christophe Novelli, as he searches for the next rising star to work at his Barcelona eatery. ‌ The show, which will air on ITV2 and ITVX in 2026, will also follow the cast outside of the kitchen, with the potential for tempers to flare and emotion to bubble over as they battle it out to win. Viewers will witness promotions, demotions, power plays, sackings and shock decisions throughout the series, according to producers. ‌ Olivia, 34, has honed her craft while presenting a number of documentaries for ITV, as well as making her debut on This Morning last week, alongside regular host Dermot O'Leary. It comes after one Mirror writer claimed 'the new Bonnie Blue documentary may be the worst thing I've ever seen on Channel 4'. ‌ Speaking about her incredible new gig, she said: 'It is such an honour to host this brand-new format for ITV2 and ITVX. Being at the helm of something this fresh and exciting is a total pinch-me moment!' Novelli, who has previously appeared as a judge on MasterChef Australia, said: 'I couldn't be more thrilled to join this new exciting show and help spotlight the next generation of culinary talent. Known for my drive and intensity in the kitchen, I'll be using my passion and unique teaching style to push these young chefs to dig deep, stay sharp, and prove they have what it takes to grow, evolve, and make their mark. ‌ 'I'll mentor them to use all five senses together and put it all on the plate, the right way. It's going to be a wild ride, and I know we'll discover some true culinary stars along the way.' Paul Mortimer, director of reality commissioning and acquisitions at ITV, said: 'The Heat is the perfect fusion of a high-stakes cooking show with real-life drama, and with the fantastic Olivia at the forefront alongside the renowned Jean-Christophe calling the shots in the kitchen, it's shaping up to be a new reality obsession for our younger viewers on ITV2 and ITVX.' Former Love Island star Olivia has forged a career as a presenter over recent years, following her appearance on the reality dating show in 2017. She partnered up with Chris Hughes, with the couple making it to the final and coming third. ‌ They continued their turbulent relationship after the show, but their frequent rows and accusations of cheating saw them split up in February 2018. They even documented their post-villa life in their own reality show, Crackin' On, but it was cut short when they split. Olivia has since married footballer Bradley Dack, and she and Chris have not spoken in years. Liv and Brad swapped vows in June 2023 in an intimate ceremony at a five-star hotel in Knightsbridge. ‌ The couple said said "I do" in front of 80 guests, including family friends, and Love Island stars including Amber Davies and Georgia Harrison. The couple moved into their plush £1million Cheshire home in October 2022, which they share with their dogs Lola and Stitch. They've also welcomed cameras into their own lives and home since 2020 in the reality docu-series Olivia Meets Her Match. The show follows the couple in their every-day lives, giving viewers a look at how their relationship is going behind the scenes.
