Barcelona's Lamine Yamal Spotted Copying Marcus Rashford In Training Amidst 'Secret Texts': WATCH
The Barcelona star Yamal was seen replicating the new signing Rashford's signature celebrations at a pre-season training camp in Korea on July 30. Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, who was sweating hard at the training session on Wednesday, July 30, along with the rest of the players, celebrated a goal by replicating Marcus Rashford's antics amidst reports of the duo sharing 'secret texts' with each other. Appearing bare-chested at the training after Barcelona's senior players, including Raphinha, raised concerns about the new Nike gear and its ability to handle the sweat, 18-year-old Yamal paid homage to Rashford by putting his index finger to his head in a mini-celebration. Rashford, the former Manchester United player, has gone to Barcelona on a loan transfer. Lamine Yamal haciendo la celebración de Marcus Rashford 🫡 — FC Barcelona (@FCBarcelona_es) July 30, 2025 It is understood that Yamal and his pal at Nou Camp have been sharing texts after Rashford made no bones about his wish to turn up for Barcelona last week, saying he wanted to play for the La Liga giants even before he agreed to a loan deal at Aston Villa in January. Rashford's longstanding wish came to fruition after Barcelona's other options faded away, making the England forward their preferred choice. 'Rashford's only intention this summer was to join Barcelona," said a report in The Athletic. If a deal could not be struck, the forward planned to stay at Manchester United, despite all the turmoil around his status at the club and his relationship with [head coach Ruben] Amorim." 'Rashford has been texting Barcelona players, including Lamine Yamal, in recent months. The dressing room was fully aware of his willingness to be a part of the squad." After beating J1 League champions Vissel Kobe on Sunday, July 27, Barcelona have been busing training in hot and humid climes of Korea ahead of back-to-back friendlies against K-League side FC Seoul. The Blaugrana will then meet Daegu FC in their last outing of the Asian mini-tour and round off the pre-season programme with a fixture against Como at the Estadi Johan Cruyff in Barcelona on Sunday, August 10. Six days later, Rashford can make his first competitive Barcelona appearance against Mallorca in what will be the start of the title-defence campaign for the club. It will also be his maiden outing for a club outside England. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
