PGA Tour Makes Scottie Scheffler Announcement Before Open Championship
Scottie Scheffler carded a tidy 67 in the final round of the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club, finishing tied for eighth at 9‑under.

Despite battling gusty links conditions and not quite reaching the heights he expected, the World No. 1 still marked a major personal milestone.
With this result, Scheffler has now placed inside the top 25 in each of his 15 starts this season, including an impressive run of 10 consecutive top‑10 finishes.
Though Scheffler left Scotland a little underwhelmed by his own performance, the real headline came via PGA Tour on X.
'With a T8 finish at the Genesis Scottish Open, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has now finished inside the top 25 in all 15 starts this season, including 10 consecutive top‑10 finishes.' they posted.

Reflecting on his Scottish Open performance, Scheffler admitted he's still chasing his best form.
'I feel like I'm really close. I feel like I was close to playing some really good golf. Just got to get some momentum. I'll get out and play a decent amount. I'll spend some time out on the course.' he said in a press conference on Sunday.
That mindset will serve him well as he shifts focus to next week's Open Championship at Royal Portrush, especially since Rory McIlroy is back to his form.
The World No. 2 will feel significantly confident after finishing the tournament tied second with a score of 13-under. He lost to Chris Gotterup, who became the sixth American to win the event, by two shots.

The win at North Berwick earned Gotterup a ticket to the British Open as well.

As we head into the championship rounds of Euro 2025, it's becoming pretty clear who the heavyweights of the competition are after the final stage of group games. The last gameweek was a showcase of ambition as each top contender attempted to outdo the other. First, Norway put on a goalfest as they clinched a seven-goal thriller to beat Iceland 4-3. Then Sweden thumped Germany 4-1 in a statement win to close out their group stage, before France hit their 11th goal of the tournament with a 5-2 win over the Netherlands. Two wins that yielded 10 goals still weren't enough to secure top spot in the group after France won all three group games. Interestingly enough, the four winners of each group finished with perfect records after winning all three of their games — which shows you how high the standard is in these championships. World champions and tournament favourites Spain have scored a ridiculous 14 goals so far, led by Esther Gonzalez and Alexia Putellas, and have only let in three. There are at least five teams who could win this competition, and none of them look satisfied to get through with scrappy wins. It's been a show of ruthlessness so far, with each game an opportunity to strike fear into rival teams. No team will have a greater fear factor than Spain — who are easily the best-backed team at Betfair. They have given them odds of 8/11 to add the European Championship to the World Cup trophy already sitting in their cabinet. England are the second-favourites at 4/1 after overcoming their poor start against France by thumping Netherlands and Wales, further demonstrating the threat they possess in Switzerland. France still find themselves as third-favourites at 5/1 despite beating England 2-1, pipping them to first place in Group D. Sweden (10/1) and Germany (10/1) are next in the odds after Sweden's 4-1 trashing of Germany in the final group game in Group C. Sweden won all three of their group games and impressively only conceded one goal. They look like one of the dark horses of the tournament, and midfielder Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, who plays for Chelsea, has suggested the team could go the whole way. 'Of course we always want to win,' Kaneryd said at a news conference. 'We always want to do better. We know we have been doing good in tournaments before, but we also know we haven't gone the whole way. 'I have a really good feeling. You can see that in the squad there is something different this year and we always believe. We want to reach the final and with that being said we need to take every game for what it is. We can't look too much ahead. It's going to be a challenge but we are ready.' For the outsiders, Norway have odds of 28/1 to become champions after winning Group A and are also underdogs against Italy (25/1) in a quarter-final. For the longest odds, tournament hosts Switzerland are rated at 66/1 after they edged into the quarters at the expense of Finland. Golf in a hangar? DeChambeau's woes at the British Open get 'The Scientist' thinking
PORTRUSH, Northern Ireland (AP) — As a popular YouTuber and golfing enigma, Bryson DeChambeau is known for coming up with some wacky, radical ideas. 'The Scientist' might have another one in the pipeline. 'This is going to be wild,' DeChambeau proffered at the British Open on Tuesday, 'but imagine a scenario where you've got a 400-yard tent, and you can just hit any type of shot with any wind with all the fans. 'That's what I imagine, like in a hangar or something like that. A big stadium. That would be cool to test.' Don't put it past DeChambeau to go through with it. After all, he's open to anything if it means improving his patchy record at golf's oldest major championship. The 31-year-old American has played seven times at the Open Championship, where handling the fickle weather can be the key to success. He missed the cut on three occasions and only finished inside the top 30 once. It's a record that frustrates one of the sport's deeper thinkers. He remembers playing well at the Walker Cup at Royal Lytham St. Anne's — one of the courses on the British Open rotation — back in 2015, and was quick to point out he coped fine in windy conditions in LIV Golf events in Miami and Valderrama this year. Place him in the British Open, though, and he can get blown away — like last year at Royal Troon, when he shot 76-75 to miss the cut and said afterward: 'I can do it when it's warm and not windy.' 'The times I've been over here, for some reason, my golf swing hasn't been where it needs to be,' DeChambeau said Tuesday. 'Right now it feels as good as it's ever been. Hitting it far, hitting it straight as I can, and learning how to putt better on these greens in windy conditions and rain and all that. 'It's just figuring it out. It's just going to take time and something that I never really experienced growing up in California.' Lifting the claret jug — as unlikely as it would be, given his Open woes — would deliver the two-time U.S. Open champion a third major title and no doubt boost the already-swelling audience on his YouTube channel that has risen to more than 2 million subscribers. His popularity is clear over in Northern Ireland, too. Late Monday, dozens of people — mostly kids — were seen waiting outside Portrush to get a photo with, or the autograph of, DeChambeau. He obliged, happily. DeChambeau is using YouTube to have some fun and to show the world a different side to him. He even suggested it's just as important as the results he gets. 'I'm not going to be here forever,' he said. 'What footprint do I want to leave? I think it humbles me and almost makes me more passionate about what I'm doing off the professional golf course. 'Am I going to get frustrated playing bad golf?' he posed. 'Yeah. Am I going to want to still sign autographs? Yeah, because I care about the game.' That's not to say he doesn't still have a burning desire to win at Portrush this week — and secure a result that will impress Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley in the process, ahead of the match against Europe in September. 'I feel pressure every week to play good for not only Keegan, but myself, and the people that I love online and everybody that's watching me,' DeChambeau said.
