The official logline states, 'Four women working at an archeological dig in Greece are at wildly different crossroads in their lives. When the team uncovers a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, they find themselves at the center of a high-stakes international conspiracy.'
Along with Poehler and Schur, J.J. Philbin ('Only Murders in the Building,' 'Single Parents') also serves as a writer on the series. All three are also executive producers, with Schur executive producing under his Fremulon banner. Morgan Sackett executive produces as well, along with Dave Becky and David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, Sharon Jackson for Ocean Avenue, and Kate Arend and Jordan Grief for Poehler's Paper Kite. Myers is a co-executive producer. Universal Television — where Poehler, Schur, and Sackett are under overall deals — is the studio.
Poehler and Schur famously collaborated on the beloved comedy series 'Parks and Recreation,' which aired for seven seasons on NBC from 2009-2015. Schur co-created the series with Greg Daniels, while Poehler starred as indefatigable government employee Leslie Knope. Poehler also co-wrote multiple episodes with Schur, including the series finale. Sackett was also an executive producer on the series, which received 14 Emmy nominations throughout its run. It won a Peabody Award in 2011 and remains highly popular nearly a decade since it ended. Poehler and Schur also worked together during their time at 'Saturday Night Live,' where Poehler was a cast member and Schur was a writer.
Schur is repped by UTA, 3 Arts, and Hansen Jacobson. Poehler is repped by WME, 3 Arts, Ocean Avenue and Sloane Offer. Philbin is repped by UTA and Rise Management. Myers is repped by CAA and Inkwell Management.

‘Weapons' Star June Diane Raphael Explains Pantless Premiere Look: ‘It's a Little C—y and a Little Horror and a Little Scary'

June Diane Raphael turned it out Thursday night at the world premiere of her new movie 'Weapons,' wearing a a pantless black tuxedo look reminiscent of Roxie Hart, the murderess ex-con turned showgirl in the Broadway musical 'Chicago.' 'When you're a part of such a big genre film and such a giant piece of performance art, it's time to leave your pants at home,' Raphael deadpanned. 'I've always said that, you know what I mean? It's time to lose a major piece of clothing. (The 'performance art' was a faux classroom on the red carpet inside the United Theater on Broadway in downtown Los Angeles that featured several child actors pretending to be unconscious at their desks and a couple of boys covered in creepy clown makeup.) It's horror glam and it's a little cunty and a little horror and a little scary and a little spooky.' An original horror written and directed by Zach Cregger, 'Weapons' revolves around a town's reaction to the disappearance of an entire classroom students who ran from their homes at 2:17 a.m. and vanished into the night, triggering a wave of frantic finger-pointing and accusations ensnaring the children's teacher (Julia Garner.) Raphael, best known for her turn on 'Grace and Frankie' with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, admitted she wasn't exactly a horror fan: 'I am such a scaredy cat. I'm scared right now.' The cast of the Warner Bros film also includes Josh Brolin, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Alden Ehrenreich Benedict Wong and Amy Madigan. As previously reported by Variety, 'Weapons' cost $38 million in a package that included $10 million total for Cregger to write, direct and produce after a frenetic bidding war. Cregger's 2022 summer hit 'Barbarian' made close to $50 million on just a $4 million budget via 20th Century. 'Weapons' is in theaters on Aug. 8. See more photos from the 'Weapons' premiere below. ‘Freakier Friday' First Reactions Call Disney Sequel a ‘True Delight' With Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis Delivering ‘Hilarity and Emotion' in a ‘Great Feel-Good Film'

'Freakier Friday' has been unveiled to members of the film press, and first reactions are calling it a 'great feel-good film' that is 'hilarious' as it is 'touching.' TV host Jeff Conway took to X to share his praise. He gushed that the film was 'double the fun' with 'twice the heart' as the original 'Freaky Friday.' More from Variety Jamie Lee Curtis on Reuniting With Lindsay Lohan for 'Freakier Friday,' Her 'The Bear' Emmy Nom and Stephen Colbert's 'Late Show' Cancellation: 'It's Awful' Barbra Streisand, Jamie Lee Curtis and Bianca Del Rio Help Project Angel Food Raise Nearly $722,000 During KTLA Telethon Rachel Griffiths Says 'Older Women Are Having a Moment,' Gushes Over 'The Last Showgirl' and Jamie Lee Curtis 'Dancing on That F--ing Table': 'I Was in Awe of That Girl!' 'These 22 years later, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis haven't missed a beat! Their on-screen chemistry is truly something special,' he wrote. 'A true delight that the entire family will enjoy.' Variety's senior artisans editor Jazz Tangcay wrote on X that the film was 'an absolute riot,' adding that she 'laughed' out loud and 'cried' during the tender family moments. 'It's such a great feel-good film,' she wrote. 'Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis deliver hilarity and emotion in this funtastic sequel. I never knew I needed this film! Oh and Manny Jacinto, I love him.' Entertainment journalist Brandon Davis echoed the praise, writing on X that he was 'howling' with laughter during Tuesday night's premiere screening. 'Jamie Lee Curtis is having the time of her life and it's a blast to watch,' Davis wrote. 'It's silly and sometimes confusing but hilarious throughout, even touching at times. Absolutely some of the most fun I've had watching a movie this year.' 'Freakier Friday' takes place years after the original. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As she attempts to navigate the struggles of merging her two families, Anna finds herself, her mom Tess, her daughter and her stepdaughter in a four-way body swap. What starts as pure chaos soon helps them find some understanding amid the complicated family transition. Original stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis return as the leading mother-daughter duo. Other cast members include Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. While speaking to Variety at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards, Curtis said she has learned a lot from Lohan since returning for the Disney sequel. 'She has taught me so much,' Curtis said. 'She has her team, where her two people would be standing on either side of a camera holding a big light. It's Lindsay lighting — that would have been good branding — they hold lights so that we look better. So, I've learned a lot from her already. We had a good time. We love each other.' The original 2003 'Freaky Friday,' based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel, follows widowed mother Tess and her teenage daughter Anna. During an impasse in their relationship, they find a magic fortune cookie that causes them to swap bodies, resulting in a deeper familiarity between them.
